Hi all,
I wanna ask about my HTC hero trackball.
Sometimes my trackball drag alone by it self, like if I touch and drag it with my finger.. even just a little bit movement, and only sometimes, and rare.. but i scared if it's going worse, is that true if my trackball is broken? cause if it's true, then i should anticipate to change it with a new one..
Or maybe is it because my trackball is dirty?
Does anyone ever have a same problem with me?

I get this too i thought it was just mine though it hasn't paticularly got worse and ive had it for a few months, the worst thing is tho is mine drags left so if i need to reply to a texti cant till it sorts its self out Any fix for this anyone (Edit: just sayin if it is hardware it will be the trackball thing its self because im on my third motherboard p) and its done it with all of them)
Maybe its dirt ??

after installation of several wm6.1 roms here,
my touchscreen isnt precise already.. it seems to be misaligned?
i always need to aligned the screen, but it dont work anymore..
whats wrong with my fone? is it because of the ROM or hardware error already?

1. did you make a search for an answer yet?
2. you need to provide details for you problems inorder to let other seniors here to help,
for example... which rom, how is the history....what had you done to it.......

the problem has been existed since i have bought my prophet. the problem was there on official wm5 rom. using wm6 or 6.1 roms didn't fix it, but decreased a little (or i quit playing games so much).
since i couldn't enter the pin to unlock, two or more times i couldn't make an urgent call, then i soft reset it..
i thought that it is affected by heat changes when the battery consumption is high or when i hold it in my hand very long time. i also thought that it is a hardware problem, but not sure.

i should have defined the problem mentioned above:
- when i touch a point on the screen by stylus (or any other way)
it assumes that i touch some pixels left of the point i intend.
- in a few minutes, sometimes this shift increases about one or two centimeters, sometimes it stay one or two letters left of the intended letter on a standard keyboard.
- this shift is much more on the right part of the screen, it gradually decreases towards the left side, and finally it exact macthes that your pressing point.
think of a rubber band, fix one end onto the left edge then stretch it to the right, this is the touch screen you see. release it to shrink it, now this is the way that it assumes you touch on it.
- after soft reset, generally the problem's gone, sometimes not.
- after re-aligning the screen, it's gone, but when somehow the cause gets remedy after a while, it occurs reverse way, then you should correct the screen alignment again (

I have the exact same problem for years, I would say ever sice I got it. It's happens just like atakatas says.
Just something I noticed, It happens to me when I keep it in my leg pocket, and usually I don't soft reset nor realign the screen. I used to do that, but then I found out that waiting a few seconds it would get back to normal.
So I never asked anything arround here because it really didn't look like a software problem. I would say it is climate sensitive

Its a stupid little problem. As of yesterday my track ball wont go to the right (or down) properly. If you're on the homescreens and gently go to the left its fine but not to the right. If you flick it really hard to the right it sometimes works. Its not the end of the world cos I dont use it that much but its essential for games such as xgalaga etc. I'm hoping its not broken hardware as I'm not sure i'm covered by warranty as its an Orange upgrade I got off ebay.
Anyone else had this problem and managed to fix it

I had the SAME problem a week ago.. couldn't scroll to the right anymore... I tried to clean it, rub it aginst something etc... nothing worked..; then I tried an easy solution: shut the phone off and then restart it .. result: Problem solved So just turn your device off and turn it back on... worked for me

something happaned to me 2 days ago.
everything worked great, and suddenly the HD screen wont work properly.
the left side of the screen sometimes reacts defferent when i press the left side screen.
for example - i press the Start on the left, and it reacts on the right!, if i press the right side it works good!
ive done few HR with changing the ROM few times too, the problem is still there...
when i do screen align - the buttons are getting pressed ok, when i start to use the phone its getting crazy, i have to press the left side at the end of the screen so it can react on the middle...
im getting crazy cuz everything worked great 2 days ago...
the picture on the screen is perfect - no defects except the touch.
also when i press the left side of the screen' lets say on the TF3D Tabs and living the Stylus on one Tab, its shaking a bit like im playing with it...
all the 4 HARD BUTTONS at the buttom doesnt work properly either...

BTW something happaned to alot of people? i can see alot of messages about those things..

im using my phone as a Modem for 4 months already, can it be one of the resons to make the Digitizer go crazy? the heat? cuz its get hot as modem...

In a few hours i go to the poststation and get my HD back

something doesnt make any sense!
ive done another HR- another ALIGN SCREEN' and suddnley the screen works perfect! no stuttering, no jumping from one tub to another!
how can that be???
ive pressed the screen hard enough to see if the problem comes back! and it didnt...
how can that make any sense?
Damaged Digitizer will do that?

the main problem i have on the screen, is the OILY LIQUID under the screen! that what causes the problems, now my HD wont work at all, or maybe sometimes when it wants to...
now i have to send it for repair...and hope it will be ok

One year ago, in the beginning of August, I had the Digitizer problem...
After a year passed, I begun to noticed again a small oil liquid on the LCD!!!
I still don't notice any problem with the touch, but it's a matter of time...
I can't believe it!!! 99% for sure that I have to send my phone to repair again and almost exactly one year after the same problem!!!
Im kinda new here but i have an issue with my motorola xt910. the left part of the touch screen is unresponsive. so everytime theres a game or a video player with small icons in portrait mode its impossible for me to hit the bottons. the unresponsive arear is like 3-4 mm. I know its hard to understand. Even the keyboard... if i want to type in portrait mode i have to make sure to type on the right side because on the left side (in portrait mode) i have to make sure to hit the space bar right in the middle which is a pain in the...
if anyone have a solution for me it would be appreciated
im ok with unmouting the phone ive already unmounted plenty of them
maybe theres dust on the left side of the digitizer idk im waiting for anyone who has encountered this kinda of issue or have an idea before unmounting it

this is not a software issue...
your digitizer is broken, and only way to fix this is to repace this part

i dont think its broken since the rest of the screen works perfectly. someone told me that there may be dust on that part of the screen. i know its not software related. i just want to make sure that dust can in fact cause a similar problem so i posted hoping someone had this problem before.

hey guys just a quick problem.
I have installed the miui rom like 2 weeks ago but in the last few days the screens been playing up as now i can't press the e,s,z and voice input, its like their is a voide that i can't touch or do anything with. I have not dropped the phone or anything like that. Could the screen be playing up, or could it be the miui rom? and if it is how do i fix it?

ok i did a multi touch test which kinda helped i guess... I have found out their is like a 0.5cm void on the screen which i cant press? any help...
try watching one of the replace digitizer atrix videos on you tube and determine if your confident enough to try it, but basically your digitizer stopped working, it happened to me 3 times over one year, ATT warranty replaced the phone but it was still pretty annoying.

Is it truly the digitizer, it has no cracks or scratches, as ive had a screen protector on the screen since i have got it :-D, I dont really wanna replace something that isn't necessary. And by the videos it looks a bit beyond me (even though i do electronics in school), but even so i dont really mind the empty void in the screen, the only annoying thing is that the i can't press e,s,w in the keyboard and i use at lest one for my google account password
