Secret Code to Increase Brightness and Earpiece Volume beyond factory max setting???? - Vibrant Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello.
I find the volume in the earpiece speaker that is built into the phone to be too low, even at max factory setting. I'm talking about the earpiece built into the phone, the part you hold against your ear.
Can someone please provide one of thos secret codes that will give access to somehow change the maximum volume to something higher.
Also, I would like the ability to increase screen brightness to higher settings, if you can please provide a secret code and instructions for that also.
Thank You Very much

I don't have any such codes and also find the volume too low during calls but God, man, why on earth would you need a brighter screen? This is by far the brightest and clearest screen I've ever seen on a phone. You're gonna fry your battery and your retinas both at the same time!.

LOL. Well such codes must exist. I was able to do this 5 yrs ago on a motorola razr. Surely this computer of a beast vibrant must have some setting for volume adjustment!

I actually have a blind family member. Your comment was distasteful.

Ya if you need it louder your hearing is probably going but.. if you look around in the service menu there are audio options. No guarantees that your speaker won't be blown or that you won't mess up the phone depending on the settings.. the speaker on this phone is much too loud for me, especially since it's really bassy and resonates into my ear. I can feel it damaging my hearing.

There's a hack for most other android devices such as nexus one whining increases the volume by a good margin, I don't think it has been ported over yet though l.

whining? OK seriously I came here for help, not for people to call me deaf blind or whining. I asked you guys for a method to increase the volume, if you don't know there is no justification for the barrage of uncalled for comments.

how can I access the service menus, besides blowing out the speaker what other type of phone damage can occur?

The nexus used a kernel hack/mod to increase the volume... I'm not sure we're there yet in terms of mods...hopefully it will come soon! Not that I need it but I can see the use for it.
Hope you can get what your looking for OP

I find the ear piece volume to be excellent on my device, I'd love to have the speakerphone volume up'd though. It's too thin, and when on the conf calls I need to be really close to my phone to hear what's going on on the other end of the air

2.1 and sound

Can anyone with 2.1 check for me to see if the sound on the xperia is louder now please. I know Sony said they're knew about the problem and were going to make it better, I just want to know if they did.
It is louder IMO after 2.1 update.
ive yet to test the sound will update as soon as i test it

Sent from my X10i using XDA App
Yes, much better. However, I've noticed that there is some noise for the person on the other side of the call
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
I seriously think the volume issue is hardware related, I have never had a problem with mine on 1.6, but the 2.1 update cranked it up, I keep my volume at 50% as full volume would make me go deaf. I was talking on my phone under the L tracks with a train going by in Chicago today, no place is louder, I heard the person fine.
How do u guys hold your phones to your ears?
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
Umm.. Its not any louder for me, but that annoying static is gone.
I rang my mum who has a really ****ty phone line and for once the call was crystal clear.
Sent from my X10i using Tapatalk
I find it a little bit louder, not much...Works fine for me
There is no noticeable difference since the update it is still one of the worst phones to make and receive calls on I have ever owned, I also own a galaxy s which is way better to use to make calls on ie crystal clear and very loud.

Volume Hack?

I had the Epic Touch 4G for about a week until I had to return it (Sprint really sucks in my area). Anyways, as with most Sprint phones, the earpiece volume is pretty damn loud. Since getting my SII on AT&T, I notice a huge difference, and I was wondering if there were any hacks to make it louder. My phone is rooted, and I'm not opposed to getting a custom ROM if need be.
Thanks

Oh this is the perfect thread to find out something that is been bothering me.
IF you still on the ATT stock rom. what kind of head phones are you using? 16ohm, 24ohm, 32ohm, 64+ohm?
Because in the CM7.1 forum, we are having some issues where the 16ohms headphones are playing SUPER loud.
SO... if you happened to have some cheapy 16ohm headphones and you are not getting super loud volume please let us know in the CM7.1 nightly forum?
Thanks
PS: *I* believe that the stock rom has auto-impedance, but CM7.1 doesn't which causes 16ohm headphones to play super loud while 32-64ohms headphones play @ "normal" volume. But this is just a theory...

Are you actually able to get it to work got the GS II? I downloaded it but it never asks for root and doesn't make anything louder, no matter what settings I use.
Sent from my Galaxy S II using the XDA app!
I tried Volume+, but I don't think its what I was looking for. I am not having a volume issue with the main speaker, but rather the earpiece speaker you use during a regular call. I was able to get a louder audio playback via the normal speaker (listening to music) but saw no improvement during a call.

I'd love to have a viable solution to increase headset volume as well. I'm using a wired headset if it matters and I'm on gtg's UnNamed Rom. I tried volume+ and noticed it said it doesn't work on stock roms and I know we're running a slightly modified version of it so...
But yeah, didn't notice any volume difference in headset or speaker.
Its a known issue with Samsung phones,Galaxy s1 phones had the same problem!
What I don't understand is how the Sprint version of the phone was so drastically louder than the AT&T version. Its like the hardware is capable, but they are holding it back.

I have stock rom with root. Idk if its just my phone or what - I'll have to test my friends phone now, lol. And yes, I do need the volume quite high as I am rarely in quiet environments
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I777 using XDA App
My volume is also low on my phone. Headphone volume is loud. I believe the perception Rom has loud call volume.
For my first few calls, the volume seemed to be too low. Then I noticed that if I hold the phone lower, it is much louder. I guess the earpiece is so high up on the phone that holding the phone in a natural position doesn't put the earpiece in the right place in my ear.
volume boost gets my vote.
I've been searching for a volume hack for two weeks. Im rooted and on unNamed ROM. The volume has been much lower than id like on both stock and custom Rom . I've tried volume+ but doesn't do the trick.
Can someone PLEASE provide a solution for this. ie. modify file in root explorer, or some other hack.
there is audio boost sgs2... but it will probably drain battery as it polls on the volume to constantly make it "louder". its a cheat hack.
I also think the incall volume is really low as well, would love if one of you devs could come up with something.. Donate donate donate!

Saw a new of apps to increase the volume beyond stock, but haven't found any to lower it.
The lowest volume is on the loud side for me when trying to sleep. Appreciate any recommendation/thoughts

Anybody remember that old tv gameshow called "To Tell the Truth". Here is my input on what that symbol is. It is your Noise Reduction icon. While on a call hit your menu button and I believe you should have an option to turn it on or off. Seriously....that is what it is. Has nothing to do with volume or speakerphone. It changes when you go on speakerphone because it disables on speakerphone I think.

How is the overall call volume? Is it loud enough?
Why do manufacturers do these dumb things?
I wanted the loud speakers mainly for the loud ringing advantage, as I set my phone down in one corner of the house and often miss calls as I can't hear it from the other rooms.
Hopefully there's a fix.

Seriously, I don't know why every review I've read so far talks about the power front facing stereo speakers when the volume is really so poor. What's the use?
Looks more like a software glitch to me.
One more bug I find was the volume indicator which appears when you press the volume rocker doesn't seems to be moving continously the correct volume levels. Again, not sure whether it's just me alone with this bug.

Well, it depends on you, but I feel it's a software issue as I could hear loudly when I play music. So it can't be a hardware issue. It could be a matter of bug fix update from Sony to fix it.
