HTC messaging app for vibrant? - Vibrant Themes and Apps

Is there a way we could install HTC messaging app on our vibrants? Maybe somebody has an apk file to try? I love Samsung one, but it lags so bad at times!

FYI, its not the htc app, but the default messaging app from CM 5.0.8 for the nexus one will install just fine on the vibrant, IF you have root, and delete the stock application.
cheers

Is there a stickey for doing such process?

Once you have root, you could either do it via adb, or go download root manager and delete stock app, then you should.be able to install the apk file of the other messaging client.

I get 6 or 7 apps. I saw it in one of Eugenes Froyo roms and tried it. There is an awesome racing game in there called asphalt.
Flash that rom and then Titanium Backup to snatch it or copy it out of data/app
any one with latest apk for samsung apps?
Anybody?

Next time I flash back to a Froyo rom I'll grab it for you. But like someone mentioned, you can install Eugene's Macnut to get it then backup the apps you want and go back to fusion or whatever. It works.

New android keyboard addition?

Hi guys, I am currently using the multi-touch keyboard that comes with Axura 2.1 rom, and I wanted to flash the new gingerbread 2.3 android keyboard, but when I did that the multi touch keyboard disappeared and the 2.3 keyboard was there, but I want both! So my question is, how do I add the new keyboard in my input options?

you should be able to pull the apk from the zip file under system/app and then install it as you would any side loaded app. Maybe I'm wrong but thats what i would try first.
rename it, then side load. give that a shot.

I took the .apk, renamed it, and put it in my system/app, but it didn't work. And whenever I tried installing it like a normal apk, it wouldn't install, now what do I do?

Download the zip. In rom manager install cwm. Then hit install from sd card or.install rom, find the zip from the webpage listed above. Check backup when the preinstall box comes up. And hit install. These directions are kinda rough so.if you have any questions pm me. Good luck

No More Blurry MMS

I finally got around to dealing with the blurry MMS issue. Here are both GB(2.3.4) and Froyo(2.2.1) versions.
I have only tested the GB version on JVP. The Froyo version is untested but the fix is the same for both so it should work. Both are flashable. If you have a problem flashing the packages just pull the apk and push it to system/app with root explorer or the like.
Almost forgot these are Samsung mms.apks.
EDIT: Added both GB and Froyo versions unthemed...stock.
I can confirm it worked on Gingerbread and froyo. Massive thanks.

Wow 2.3 is turning into almost perfect with gps and widow calling and this now all we need is working 3d
Many thanks!

SMS is text
MMS are multimedia and pics
Blurry mms is basically means that the pics you receive/send look blurry. I fixed mine by changing the user agent and editing apn on cm7 and it took care of the problem for me

Thanks for the fix! This is great, I was wondering why my mms was coming in blurred.
For those of us not on simply honey, is there anyway to get just a standard unthemed version for 2.3.4?

(Q) MIUI - Replace stock SMS app? (Solved)

So I've extracted CM9's stock SMS app and it installs fine on MIUI, however when I reboot the SMS app is then replaced with MIUI's stock one. I've frozen MIUI's stock SMS app, and that works fine. But I can't install CM9's sms app without overwriting MIUI's one, and then obviously it'll be replaced by MIUI's one on the next reboot..
Is there a way to get around this? Or is there maybe a way to install both of them without one overwriting the other? Thank you!

Did you push it to system apps? You'll have to change the permissions to 644, but that should keep the app after a reboot.
