[Q] HTC HD2 (LEO) Latest Officaial ROM - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I have a HTC HD2 leo, bought from Cyprus without any contract. I think it is the T8585 version.. I am just wondering which is the latest version of the official HTC ROM? Could anyone provide a link?
I have searched the forum and i have found the official roms(1.48, 1.66 etc) but I have also seen in youtube about the 2.01 version. This is very confusing.
Also would it be wise to change from the Greek RUU_rom to a different one? Should I run the HSPL 2 or HSPL 3 first in order to update?
Thanks
ps. just want to get the best out of my device

all official updates for your device will be on HTC webpage,
check the list here http://www.htc.com/europe/supportdownloadlist.aspx?p_id=297&act=sd&cat=all,
remember to pick your country/language in the upper right corner

Is it difficult to update a new ROM?

Hi!
I have a original Scandinavian HTC Touch Dual ROM v1.31.414.09 (radio version 1.58.16.27).
I'm looking for a new ROM with WM6.1. Is it difficult to get my Nike to be updated the WM6.1? HTC Club doesnt offer WM6.1 update .
If it's easy to upgrade, what version should I go for? Is there any step-by-step upgrade guide for dummies?

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=355730 As for which one to update to, depends on what device you have. Niki or Neon. Settings>Device information>Identity. It took me a while to update, just because i get anxious and just start downloading haha. More than likely, u have a Niki, which matter a fact, have a lot of roms.

Windows Mobile 6.1 ROM for Sedna!

Hi, everyone -- Orange (UK) has just released a WM6.1 update for their Sedna here:
http://www.business.orange.co.uk/se...=Phone&pagename=Business&t=SMEDeviceDownloads
Has anyone tried it? I'm tempted to, but I've got an unlocked phone from HTC (not the Orange version) and am concerned about compatibility. Does anyone know if the Orange update will work properly with the HTC unlocked model? Or if HTC is planning to release their own update?
Thanks, Alan

hi is it an orange rom with the orange logo ? or the new htc 6.1 rom ?
thanks for the answer
ttiittii
not sure what you mean.....there is a square orange logo in the middle of the screen as it "boots up"
after that its just wm 6.1...no branding or banners etc on screen at all
htc.com provide an update for the P6500 rom here :
http://www.htc.com/www/SupportDownload.aspx?p_id=46&cat=2&dl_id=270
but you need a valid serial number (direct htc , not and orange machine or else)
i have an orange serial (HT809Gxxxxxx)
if someone can provide the way to arrange the serial ....
thanks in advance
have a look here for a mirror

many thanks
but if someone knows the way to "arrange" the s.n we can choose the language on the dedicated htc site
ttiittii
I'll see if I can grab some others later
If I forget pm me tonight and I'll do it then
I seem to only be able to download the wwe update i'm afraid
ok thanks again!
if someone knows how to modified s.n for a successfull registration on htc site?
thanks in advance
ttiittii
yes ttiittii that was the web address i was using to get a htc rom upgrade and like you my serial number was a HT820Gxxxxxxx
and it just says "not for you" rather annoying seeing as its a htc phone with just a tiny orange logo on the back.
but i have to say the 6.1 upgrade i got from orange is brilliant...stuff i use for work is loads faster and the bluetooth hands free is now problem free.
it just seems to be wm6.1...i can't find any "orange introduced" stuff on the pda at all...you know like o2 sticks o2 active on and crappy o2 logo's in the title bar that you can't seem to shift...thats nothing at all
just wm6.1

[Q] Can stock ROM upgrade lock a phone back to its carrier

Hi, i have to know if updating my ROM (1.43.206.4) to 1.72.206.3 from HTC website can affect the phone being unlocked. I would also like to know how to upgrade my Manila from 2.5.1920 to a better one that supports Sense in landscape.
The cell on restart reads O2, is there anyway to get rid of that screen????
@ vivisphinx
Hi, i have to know if updating my ROM (1.43.206.4) to 1.72.206.3 from HTC website can affect the phone being unlocked.
If you mean unlock from; unlock your device from your operator, than the answer will be NO!

Your Manila version will be upgraded at the same time you upgrade your Rom if it is build in! not every Rom Upgrade have a new Manila version, but the majority have. Way not take a cooked Rom thy have the latest manila version?

@ Kurt Willems
Thanks for your answer but when i said unlocked, i meant that my cell is already "unlocked" right now (using another network in India). What i need to know is whether the ROM upgrade will "Lock" it back to O2 since the upgrade that i will use reads:
ROM Version:1.72.206.3 for O2 only
NOTE: This update is for O2 UK devices currently on ROM version 1.43.206.4 only. Users with devices on ROM version 1.48.405.2 please click here (on the official HTC site)
So will this upgrade "LOCK" my phone back to O2???
and I guess i should ask a complete question.............please tell me which ROM to go for apart from the one mentioned above............i dont wanna brick my HD2
The complete specs are as follows:
OS Version 5.2.21864 (21864.5.0.81)
Manila Version 2.5.19202525.0
ROM Version 1.43.206.4 (70315) WWE
ROM Date 11/06/09
Radio Version 2.04.50.22_2
Protocol Version 15.26.50.07U
Okay, I sea more clearly now what you mean.
unfortunately I don't have a idea if it will lock again your device. In Belgium we don't have locked device so I don't have experience on this.
And I will not give you a wrong information.
Sorry!
no it will not re lock your device. Once unlocked, its permanent.
yes you can change the o2 splash screen. flash a different rom (some cooked roms dont have them, some do, all oficial ones do, flash a t mo one, you get a tmo splash, flash a generic htc one, you get a htc splash) or you can make your own, see my sig and many threads like it.
@ Kurt Willems and Samsamuel...............thanks a lot. There is one more thing that i need to know; i read somewhere that a wrong radio can damage the cell bad........wanted to know if the following Update would work on My existing ROM:
RUU_Le2_UK_1.72.206.3_Radio_15.32.50.07U_2.07.51.22_2_Signed_LEO_Ship (this is the ROM update file)
Existing :
OS Version 5.2.21864 (21864.5.0.81)
Manila Version 2.5.19202525.0
ROM Version 1.43.206.4 (70315) WWE
ROM Date 11/06/09
Radio Version 2.04.50.22_2
Protocol Version 15.26.50.07U
your current version tells us that you do not have a 'tmous' hd2, so you do not need to worry about the radio bricking your phone. That only applies to tmous hd2s, you have a 'regular' hd2.

so what upgrade rom should i take?sorry i'm new here but i really want the 3.14 rom
i mean the official update roms
It depends on if it's a branded one and in which country it was bought.
Have a look here for official ROM 3.14: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=623283
If it's a branded one you can uses HSPL4 (HSPL3.03) to install another ROM 3.14 than the one which was designed for your device.

If it is from Australia, than it might be a Telstra model T9193.
Therefor the latest official ROM is the one which is installed on your HD2.
Go to bootloader screen and look at the first line, PB81110 is the Telstra number.
If you want to switch to ROM 3.14, you have to use HSPL4 and your desired ROM from here.
Hi
My serial number is HT018NW02288 I can`t find any stock roms for my HD 2
My Htc hd2 Is European version Not T-mous, Made in Taiwan with all White buttons ( not Green and Red )
I just remember that i had 1.66.XXXX winmo 6.5 not 1.72.XXXX
My question is , Can I use a european english stock rom with diferent Serial number . a 1.66.XXXX version ?
Thank you..
If it shipped with a 1.66 rom, then it's unbranded, so its only the localisation to get right.

[Q] HTC 7 Mozart debranding issues

Hello,
I have recently been trying to debrand my HTC 7 Mozart (Orange UK branded) following the tutorial on this forum. Although the links to ansar's roms were not working anymore I managed to find Orange UK rom (RUU_Mozart_Orange_UK_1.30.061.01_5.54.09.21_22.33b.50_RELEASE) and an HTC Europe one (RUU_Mozart_HTC_Europe_1.30.401.01_5.54.09.21_22.33b.50_RELEASE) to flash on top of the first one. The Orange rom flashed successfully but the HTC Europe rom gave me an "invalid vendor ID" error. I found out then that in order to flash my Mozart with HTC Europe 1.30 rom I need to use at least the Orange UK 1.22 rom. Is there any chance I can roll back to 1.22 version and then flash the HTC Europe 1.30 rom on top of it?
I found another thread on this forum posted by ansar which says that if my firmware version is of the form xxxx.yy.zzzzz.061 ie with characteristic value 061 (which is, I checked my phone), then I can flash both of the following roms to unbrand my HTC Mozart:
RUU_Mozart_Orange_UK_1.30.401.01_Radio_5.54.09.21_ 22.33b.50U_NoDo_by_ansar
RUU_Mozart_Orange_UK_1.30.401.01_Radio_5.54.09.21_ 22.33b.50U_NoDo_Signed_by_ansar
The only problem is that I can't find any of those roms on the internet for all of them have been uploaded to rapidshare and the access to them is now blocked. I would be very grateful if anyone could help me with my problem by either giving me any advices on what is best to be done or sharing those roms with me.
Just to make it clear (for I understand my English and this message may both be quite confusing) I'm looking for the following roms...
RUU_Mozart_Orange_UK_1.22.061.10_Radio_5.50.09.18_ 22.24.50.09U, by ansar
RUU_Mozart_Orange_UK_1.30.401.01_Radio_5.54.09.21_ 22.33b.50U_NoDo_by_ansar
RUU_Mozart_Orange_UK_1.30.401.01_Radio_5.54.09.21_ 22.33b.50U_NoDo_Signed_by_ansar
...or any other advice on how to debrand my HTC 7 Mozart.
Thank you very much in advance!
I had the same problem I brought the phone to HTC CARE
