how to post my phone specs automatically with each post? - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've seen some members have the history of past and current phones used at the bottom of their posts. How do they get to do that?
Thanks

Enjoy!
Nice job.
any way you can keep that post on the first page? it would probably avoid alot of people like me, who are browsing the forum asking the same question over and over, cause until this, as best i could tell the answer had been buried 35 pages into a 90 page thread..
good work though, hopefully ill be able to follow this and get it working
Nice job on the write up. I would recommend mentioning in the the GetSPC section that you need to input the HEX value exactly as it is shown when you look up your ESN. Uppercase and lowercase letters will give different results.
Also, it might be good to have a write up like this for reverting back to a stock bootloader and ROM....for those that need it.
Good job!
is there any variance in this process for VZW customers? Primarily I ask because of the reference to the sprint 3.16 release.
My other question is how do I know what code I am running (3.16, etc?)
It might help to explain that I haven't actually purchased the phone yet. I am still clining to my 6700 like grim death, but am keeping tabs on this to see if it's worth it to make the purchase.
Thumbs up to this.. wish this was around before when i first started flashing my mogul

I just hope that it helps folks and takes some of the fear out of updating.
Have a great day!
i upped your original thread over at ppcgeeks... and added a suggestion.
great guide! thanks.

So I just found out I am getting the G tablet!!!

For Father's day --- lucky me!!!
Good price also I think? 289.99
http://www.buy.com/prod/viewsonic-g...ra-2-1ghz-512mb-ddr2/q/loc/111/219101228.html
Anyway I just looked in this sub forum and have not read anything in depth yet. I have practice flashing roms on my phone so I am not a complete newbie...but not far..
So is the instructions in the flash thread still the one to follow exactly as written? I only ask because I saw somewhere that the G tablet has been updated and some roms are no longer good (not sure if this is true?)
Anyway I will be getting this tablet soon and want to flash it before I even use it (with at least gingerbread if not honeycomb), so any tips or hints would be appreciated.
Thanks so much in advance!!!

Tip 1: Post General (like this) or Q/A (like "how do I...?") posts in the General or Q/A forums, not in THIS forum, which (as you can see by the Stickied Posts you passed over) is just for developers to post about their things, and for you to give them feedback in their threads.
Tip 2: be sure you understand the whole 1.1 vs 1.2 bootloader thing
Tip 3: have fun!
Sorry for posting in the wrong place. I am so used to the phone section (which is where we post these questions) that I just assumed it was the same setup.
Can a Mod please move this thread to the correct forum please?
thanks
I don't think there is another tab with as much interests as this one.
That said I hope you know about the screen viewing angle issue. I haven't really noticed it but some people have cried bloody murder.

New Forum Look Question

With the forums changing formats for the main page I can't seem to find an easy way to do something that was very easy before. That was when being able to go to the latest post in a particular forum by just clicking the date that the last post was created (today, yesterday... etc) on the main page for the forum. Now when you click on the topic you go to the first page of the topic and have to click again to go to the last page. Anybody have any solutions for this? Its not that bad but its a little annoying.

I am hoping its a glitch in the coding. Not a new look. its horrid.
I agree, I like the old look so much better.
Yep messed my layout. +1 to hopefully a glitch

I haven't been on lately because I've been really busy. I do hope they switch back because I'll be on even less if the layout stays like this.
The other one was so much better. And it doesn't make sense that the sub-genre forums still have the old look, even though the root forum doesn't.
Found out the person in charge of those working on the changes to the forum if you would like to message him about the changes from our Forum Admin. His name is @svetius .

Haven't sent him a pm yet. Just found out this morning. Will probably send one sometime this afternoon. Figured I would post his name if anybody else wanted to send him anything about the new look as well.

Thanks for your response. Can you give us an Idea of some of the Changes that are coming up so we can get an idea of what changes to expect. Also is there any way for us to change the layout to something else for those that don't like the new look? I was also wondering why the look is changing in the first place? in my opinion there was nothing wrong with the old look.
Maybe this will be helpful to some. You can locate this at the bottom of the website. I still personally like the 2013 layout lol.

svetius,
While I agree with the issue pointed out in the OP, I do like many things about the new look. For example, the way recent thread activity is displayed under each section. It would be nice to just click and get taken to the latest unread (or just latest) post in the thread.

Welcome to the HAM2 forum, fellow HAMster ....
First search to make sure there's not an existing thread that your question would fit into or an answer already exists.
Next, find the relevant section, such as http://forum.xda-developers.com/ascend-mate2/general where you want to create a new thread, and use the "New Thread" button if appropriate, to start a new thread with your question.
Anyone experiencing issues with xda premium and tapatalk? Mentioned names don't appear and cannot quote others. Server related maybe, @svetius?
In one picture I highlighted one of my posts where at the beginning of the sentence I mentioned another xda member. On the apps its blank left with a comma. In the other picture is me trying to quote someone but as you see, its blank.

[Display-SM-G920F] Need some opinions, I never seen something like that 'till now

Hi,
Hope this is the right topic, i bought a SM-G920F (Galaxy S6 Flat) and I just noticed a lot of "solitary cards" on the screen, in every page of the screen, even in the software update page before starting the system.
I know it's hard to understand like that so i attached some pictures to make you understand better. It's like a pattern, but i cant figure it out how to remove that.
https://prntscr.com/gpg7dh
https://prntscr.com/gpg7dt
https://prntscr.com/gpg7ek
https://prntscr.com/gpg7em
It's something you can see only with the screen on, if the phone is off, it's perfect.
https://prntscr.com/gpgc0f
What do you think it can be? Is it possible to solve the problem?

Root for S9+ US Snapdragon SM-G965U

Has anyone come up with any possible rooting methods?
No, there is a search function for a reason. Also, CAN PEOPLE STOP TITLING THEIR THREADS WITH TITLES LIKE THIS. FOR GODS SAKE MAN AT LEAS PUT A QUESTION MARK T_T.
There is no root for USA Based phones. You will never see any viable root. Enjoy your phone as is, it's amazing!

Thank you for being the first one to ask this, I was kinda hesitant to ask myself cause the searches came to no avail
What phrase are you using when you search? This question has been asked and answered many times

Searching for the word "root" (without quotes) in this topic yields all threads with the word root in them. Despite that if you glance at the titles you will find on page 1 a thread that asks the question (and has an answer). Page 2 shows 3 results.. Pages beyond 3 show other results.
So the search works but only as far as when people actually look (and take the time to read) for answers. Search results are also more effective when people use proper thread titles. I will admit the latter makes searches a lil more cumbersome because some people need to learn how (or have simply failed) to properly name the threads they make.
To help with the search results here's the ones I found on page 1 and page 2:

Wow, so nice to see no one gets satire that they go out of their way to prove themselves.
Look, I know there isn't root, I was just pointing out that threads like these are a dime a dozen. Facepalm
I'm just saying that on top of a search function there are about 10 threads about root for our phones; not being able to, question of whether or not it's possible, and a kind of waiting/official thread about root for our phones. It's not satire I was just telling him to read through the forum to search for the answer to his question instead of making yet another "is there root" thread. People just want a quick answer instead of reading. I don't see what him posting proof has to do with it, just seems like an extension of the banter. I'm not dogging on him or you, so don't take it to heart.
Also you can search by thread title if you select advanced under search options.

I was going to say the same thing. I have seeing these and finding out it is a question
This is the exact reason I didn't want to purchase this device. All I want is V4A.
Oh well, this device is amazing!
Well as of right this second there is not.. but to all who say there will never be for the U.S. model, i emphatically direct you to the Galaxy Note 9 threads where there is a serious developer Elliwigy has successfully rooted the U.S Note 9 using the exact same qualcomm chipset. And he states that his method has been tested by several developers on other samsung devices ... so to answer your question Yes root is possible.. but currently not stable nor is there a fool proof path to success. But Elliwigy has broken the ground necessary for a possible future root.
Link to an article on this:
https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.xda-developers.com/samsung-galaxy-note-9-proof-of-concept-root/amp/
Link to thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...s-recoveries--other-development/root-t3927413
Interesting to see a method to install root was found with the factory binary (not the same as what we are using right now). It may lead into a root method if someone can find a way to make the proof of concept possible on the binaries we are normally using..
Worth keeping tabs on, I got the link bookmarked to keep watch on it. Who knows someone might find a way to crack this golden egg
Get the eyxnos model, trash the us bootloader
