Rooting using the Exploid method:

Is it safe to do this and what will happen to all my settings contacts and all should I take a backup

Z4root method works as well.
And IMHO it seems easier.

Thanks! But does it remove the X10Root?
open X10Root press unroot uninstall X10Root. its easy.
There is no such button. Only "Root" and "exit". If you touch root it will only root it again.

[Q] Can't root 2.1.1.A.0.6 Rogers X10a

I tried SuperOneClick 1.6.3, 1.6.3. 1.5.5.
None of them can properly root the phone for busybox to be installed.
Please help.
Use 1.6.5 to root then reboot your phone before attempting to install Busybox. This is what I did to root my phone; shell root then root then reboot then install Busybox and was good to go.

Gingerbreak

Hi guys,
The other day I downloaded the root appie Gingerbreak. Can someone tell me whether this works for our X10 or not?

No, it doesnt. I followed the thread about rooting 2.3.3 in the dev section and used flashtool. Got it in two attempts, so not too hard to do.
