My friend is going overseas so we want to videocall every day. Unfortunately, fring is not available on Market, not on m.fring.com (gives an error). What can we do to install it? I'm willing to roor her phone and install everything, we just want fring ox X10 Mini or some other software available to Android and iOS with video calling support.
I can see it on the market. A lot of apps are blocked because devs think the mini's resolution is too low, but it should work fine.

The skype voice call works on your nimbuzz? What about skype out? I know that old versions of nimbuz support all then, but I installed market version and was able to chat only with skype users.
If you can make skype calls, may you share the apk, pls? There is a skype available on the market, but it is very battery hungry... I found it using batt even without app running! So, I uninstalled and install it every time that need make a skype call. Nimbuzz will be great if it work.

So Skype is working on many Android phones, just not on the HD2 (or at least I havent found a way to get it to work). Couldn't find it on the market and downloading it on skype.com does not work either.
Does anyone know why? I mean if it us running on other Android phones, is there maybe a third way to get the application on the phone?
Skype works on the hd2 but they removed from skype.com
Search here or google for "skype windows mobile 6.5" and
you will find a link to the client.

Yea I did, its not on the market. Who here is using Skype on the HD2 with Android and how did you get it?
I was able to download skype from the android market. Installed successfully but once you try to actually chat or call.... it force closes he app. I hope somebody figures out a work around for this
i'm with 3 and managed to get it downloaded from their portal as they are heaviliy promoting skype.. but to download it you need to be on 3 i think

That's very strange. I downloaded, installed and ran Skype from the Android market yesterday. Just did a search for 'skype' et voila.

I have just installed Skype on my rooted HTC Tattoo but I can't login. It always shuts down on login screen. I saw that it will only work on devices with display resolution higher then 400 and something x 320 pixels.
Are there any chances that someone will change this in the near future?

with sqrom i can login but the app is so big for the tattoo ...
I couldn't even login. IMO problem is screen resolution and I just wanted to know if that is fixable. My friend installed it on Desire and it looks pretty cool.

Skype for x10 Mini works pretty fine for Tattoo. I've downloaded it about month ago from seclub.org
Small variaty of android phones support skype, nothing for the little Tattoo

Guys, Skype version from android marketplace is working just fine for me with Tattoo over 3G. I can't check if it is working fine through WiFI because I browse the internet over proxy network.

Ive tryed nimbuzz but its too slow an voise transfers have many lags.

It's working just fine with 3G and SPQR rom. I can't try it with wifi because my university requires proxy settings and the proxy settings in the rom are only for the default browser.

Those are proximity sensors
i succesfuly made a video call using yahoo messenger .. for this i had to install yahoo messenger video plugin from the market .. im using lestatious 1.2 right now.
i think this works with skype too, though i didnt test it yet

I am trying use talkonaut for my gtalk2voip on my new Samsung Galaxy S II running on android 2.3.3
What i have noticed is that although i am able to place a call, the other party cannot hear my voice whereas I can hear them quite clearly. I think this related to
Android Os 2.3.3 only. As my sister who has Samsung wave running on android 2.2 and my wife who is having Xperia Mini running on Os 2.1 are able to make calls without any problem.
Any ideas ?

try flashng a 2.3.4 rom to see if that fixes the problem.
I am using GalnetMIUI and using the 2.3.5 version. Even i face the same problem and i think it is because UAE is blocking some port.
To overcome the problem i use Gtalk Voice Chat feature using gtalk2voip.

Sipdroid and CSsimple is not working on my Artix ( 2.2.2 android Middle east ) however Skype and Fring works great.Can anyone recomend me good Voip/Sip application like sipdroid for Atrix which can work on 2.2.2

It seems that Groov ip will work only with google voice.I am using Atrix in Libya.Please suggest me good application which can work with any sip account.
Maybe Viber? I cant really say what is gonna work outside the US.

I use acrobits it works fine. One of my friends has good experience with Bria. Both are paid application available in android market
