It most likely won't work because it's made for the Droid X's screen resolution, which is much larger than the Eris's.
heres the file
Sorry I should have posted it in the beginning, but here it is. Thank you. Yes I am rooted running Cyanogen 5.0.8 I believe as I am not on froyo. I know the mediagallery.apk from the droid x requires 2.1 - update 1 which is what I am running. if it needs image editing to go to mdpi let me know I am really good in photoshop and can create them as right now it only has hdpi in the apk.

Here is the error:
Code:
E/PackageManager( 116): Package com.motorola.gallery requires unavailable shared library com.motorola.android.frameworks; failing!
Do you have the shared library?

I have the whole dump, so yes. Do you know what library though? I have everything that's on the droid x.
Ok so I used adb and pushed com.motorola.android.frameworks.jar to /system/framework and rebooted but it's still just saying application not installed. Also tried pushing com.motorola.android.widget.jar and installing a couple of the widgets from the droid X and they are just saying application not installed as well. any ideas? please.
P.S.
How do you find out what error and what file it needs like that?

There is a thread somewhere around here where someone did it. I believe they just pushed it into system/app and changed the permissions. I don't remember the exact permissions off the top of my head, but I know they resemble an upside down and sideways "L".
Lol. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
I have been trying to find this also. I have all the CM7 apks extracted on my sd card, I just need to know the proper way to install it to the system folder.

First download the latest Motorola Droid CM7 release, this is not for the Droid X2 but it's the closest thing to it.
http://download.cyanogenmod.com/get/update-cm-7.0.3-Droid-signed.zip
Next extract the files from the zip and locate the ones you want to use.
Make a back-up of the ones you have.
Place the new files in /system/app using whatever method you want.
CHMOD the files you placed as rw-r--r-- (644)
Reboot or SYNC

Yes, that is what CHMOD means.

[Q] Milestone X2 - Recovery Working?

I figured I would start a new thread since now we have 2.3.6 rooted on our Milestone X2's. To note this thread is about the Milestone X2 NOT the Droid X2. Unfortunately we don't have our own forum and this is the closest one for us to use. In saying that, I'm a little confused by various posts, has anyone gotten Recovery working on the Milestone X2, if you have would you be able to post a reference to this? Thanks much the community has been awesome.

Have you tried this manual method?
The thing is it does the same as the apk. So if for some reason the apk files are not getting placed right then this will help.
I was able to get recovery to work on my phone. Skiwoodwiva determined that the CM7 MOTO bootstrap APK was what did it. One thing that hasn't been mentioned a lot is that i read somewhere that you install the .apk to your app draw. Then in the app itself you press the "install recovery" button. Don't press the reboot recovery button. Power down phone and take out your battery. Plug your battery-less phone into wall charger. Phone will automatically boot up and go into bootstrap recovery.
This has worked for me every time i have tried it. I have been able to make a nandroid back up of my ACS Milestone X2 2.3.6. I would post a link to the apk but i don't know how or if i can since i am still nee to the forum. Skiwoodwiva, do you have the ability to post the link?
manibengood
I am not sure what made yours work. If you use the cm7apk on a DX2 it won't work .
I used this method and was able to get recovery working, thank you.

Im sorry but im having a hard time understanding the manual instructions. I just got the milestone x2 coming from a htc desire. Ive never used used es file explorer to set permisions. Ive downloaded the zip and have extracted the files but im lost after that.
Get Root explorer it's easier. I'll be back.
Edit
Just copy and paste. A long press on the file is like a right click. You are pasting files and using their location in the zip to know where to paste.

No boot after changing wifi-icon

Hi, I wanted to change some of the icons in the taskbar/notificationbar, and used some app to do so. Unfortunately, now my phone won't boot anymore. The app made a backup of the original file, before changing the icon. I hope it would be possible for me to use adb and pull the original zipped file, unpack it and push it back where it should be? I am running stock rooted ICS 4.0.4 on a Motorola Razr XT910.

Need original font file

I rooted my RAZR MAXX and replaced the stock font file for the emoji file. But instead of saving it I deleted it. Is it possible to get or dl that file folder again? I'm trying to update my device and it is not letting me because I'm missing that. So I'm assuming. I keep getting errors after dl'ng the update and I've tried restoring and removing the root and still a no go. Please give me some suggestions. Thank You..
Just download a stock based rom and extract the font files from zip, put them on ur sd card and replace them in system fonts with ur root browser.
Tapped from my RazR

Ok well I've searched on here and cannot find a stock room. The versions aren't matching up. Any suggestions on that?
