Let me clarify first that I tried searching this topic before creating a new post. I did not find anything to my specific question.
I have a Rogers branded X10.
I used the Proyaz video on Youtube to root my phone. Now my phone's model number shows X10i and the Build number shows R2BA020.
I want to unbrand my phone as well. I have found a couple of guides to debrand the phone but my question is will it work on my phone since its now rooted? Also because it now shows X10i as the model number do I download files for X10a (North America) or X10i (Most of Europe and Asia)? I am in Canada myself.
Any help would be greatly appreciated...

hey, 1st of all u havent mentioned that u originally had x10a or x10i? considering that ur location is canada, chances are ur riding on x10a,(Pl check it b4) as far as i know, for debranded ur phone u ill need a custom rom and then root it...so i ill say, follow the bin4ry's method in devlopment forum and then u can end up having a debranded phone along with rooted one..if u dont care about root, then u can try picking one of the roms in jerlepelea's forum in devloper section and flash it...hope this answers ur ques..
The chances are you have already debranded your phone as you've obviously flashed the X10i rom to it, your issue is getting back to X10a, so read some of the threads in the development section.
I have the same question as well (also with Rogers), but instead, I used the one-click root apk to root my x10. I want to know if I can still debrand my phone somehow..because it obviously isn't debranded yet..I still see that annoying Rogers logo when I start up my phone..anyone know? Or should I unroot then debrand??

I rooted my vibrant (Tmobile t959) following the instructions here, and now have been trying to unlock it using the instructions here.
I have tried various methods including using sgux2.exe, hex editing nv_data.bin and using galaxy_s unlock.
nv_data.bin from offset 181468 contains : ff 00 00 00 00 00 46 46
I set the permissions as per the instructions and an md5 file was recreated...so it should all be fine, but so far no dice.
The galaxy s tool shows my code as FFFFFFFF, which is useless. What else can I try?
I would prefer not changing to any funky firmware or rom if possible, and thankyou in advance for any assistance.
Search the market for Galaxy_S unlock by Helroz. It works really well for most people, it did for me. Gluck...

Try SGS Unlock from market, but it may not work with latest baseband version.
also you can use SGS Unlock Pro from market, which is paid app.
i used SGS Unlock Pro (paid app) and it worked for me.

Hello everyone, first of all is nice to know u all im new in this comunity, i just read some QA threads about the ME860 but im not quite sure about what to do with this, i just got one from taiwan sim unlocked to all carriers by default (im from venezuela) and want to root the phone and flash a new rom in the phone since i dont like motoblur and want to take advantage from all the phone´s system resources like ram speed and battery life, ive read the beginners guide since im new with the android system
Just Want to make sure that unlocking bootloader, rooting and flashing will not hard brick my phone, hope u guys can help me with this

Hi everybody,
I don't know much about my second hand S3. All I know is that it comes from UK...
I recently updated it with the latest official firmware in 4.3 vodaphone ireland (VDI) and now i have two issues :
1 i cannot root it again, it doesn't work : CF-Auto-Root-m0-m0xx-gti9300 and CF-Root-SGS3-v6.4 tested with same issue I even updated supersu.apk...
2 No more sim network. I think it was unofficially unsimlocked and i lost this unlock when updating : galaxsim unlock said i need to wait for a new release
Other apk unsimlocker doesn't understand my network lock.
So i decided to unlock it manually with an hexa editor opening nv-data.bin file :
when it is locked, i should have 01 value that i must change to 00 to unlock the phone... Since my recent update i get an FF code that i changed to 00 without succes...
So now, the phone has no more root (i can go back to 4.1.2 for that issue) and no more sim network (issue still present even if i downgrade)
What shall i do with my mobile phone now?
