Hi all. Im new to posting on this site and kinda new to playing around with the android system. i had a G1 before this phone that i put froyo on. wasnt to hard you guys have some awesome posts. i kinda feel stupid with this because i cant figure it out. Is there a way to make the homepage with the stock software show in landscape. it changes on all my apps but not on my home screen when i flip the phone.

touchwiz doesn't run in landscape. you can try adw.launcher -- that definitely does landscape as i'm using it now. launcherpro, also very popular, might do it too.
Thank you. I thought I was going crazy.
It does on the Epic 4G for Sprint, so maybe someone will eventually include that in a custom ROM for the Vibrant.

I am honestly the most confused and sad person on the planet (not really xD) right now. I can't get this keyboard to work... I had it on the reborn rom, freaking loved it, and now I can't seem to get the v27 from the forums to actually work. I activate it in keyboard settings, then when I go to use it, it never pulls up the keyboard. It just sits there as I'm pounding the text box(oh yeah, turns you on doesn't it?)
Alright well if anyone ever needs this advice I will point you to the fix I found on androidcentral (ick)

That is the low res version, it's apparently the one that works with lg phones, because this keyboard and lg phones don't play well together I guess

Really? The 1.5 and the 1.6 version 27 both are what work on mine. I'm typing on it now.
Well idk, whenever I try to flash it, it says update error and cancels and just leaves me hanging.. Can you give me a walk through or something like it?

Wait...your flashing it? You don't flash it. You just unzip the files in it and install the apks. Oh and well I just really like the look and feel of this keyboard. It looks nice and all the buttons are where I want them,it doesn't have to appeal to everyone,but I really like it

I'm new to the forum and was successful getting android on a htc hd2 but I'm having issues after "sucessfully" getting F1 JVP Mod V9 on my samsung vibrant for the second time. I was able to solve the media scanner FC but i have certain apps that are also fc on boot up, i also have problems getting the phone to unlock my sim card. Another problem deals with the home and search buttons not operationg properly. In their current state, they act like "tab" buttons. I'm just clueless on how to fix it now. Someone please help
Sounds like you flashed a Rom not for the vibrant. Odin back to stock and pick a Rom out of our development section

I thought i did, i used 2 F1 roms(v6&v9) and the same results.
If this is the rom you're talking about then no, its not for our phone.

none of those will work, they are for the I900, any of these will work though
Thanks alot bfranklin1986.If i knew this i could have done this in an hour. but i decided to go with the Phiremod Fusion V1.1 and so far it's pretty nice.
I have it working on the Droid X². Though the OP states after a few hours it crapped out, so if you give me a few days I will let you know of any problems.
As of right now the only problem is it stretches the widgets across the screen.
I have had it installed for about 6 hrs so far other than that seems ok. I would like to run it a few days to make sure so you don't brick yourself. If interested check back.

We already have the ability to make our screen rotate, with zero issues.
The one in moto-ginger-funk has been patched for rotation as well and it has no issues.
Mine doesnt seem to stretch widgets.
Go launcher ex has a setting for it also

Wait, is this something the stock home CAN'T do?! I haven't seen a Blur launcher on my X2 in months. I use GO Launcher and homescreen rotate is old news to me. My gf's D3 can rotate the stock homescreen, but I know she has fancier Blur than us.
It definitely doesn't rotate when stock.
I am stock 2.3.4 (finally!!) Rooted and no setting for it and doesn't do it.

Thanks for this it's working great. Spent the weekend checking out all the roms from this site & eventually went back to my stock, deodexed, manually debloated nandroid cuz I actually kinda like blur (it grows on you, like a rash). But I missed the rotating home from motogingerfunk & this was just what I wanted.

The only stock Blur Homes that rotate have an actual keyboard.. ie d2 d3 etc

Sorry I missed that line I look over the same things day after day. Just for something to help others. 2.3.4 didn't work well for me though I still skim the same pages just to see what's different. It was my mistake. I am fairly new at this but up for a good brick once in a while to help others. If I could get apk mgr to work right I would be kicking out some cool theming but not a lot of time to learn. Anyhow thanks for the heads up about the one you have I'm going to give it a shot see how much difference there is.

I didn't think this post should be in the Q/A thread because I was just trying to see how everyone feels about it with the RAZR and maybe get some tips and tricks out it....
Basically I was thinking about trying it and wanted to see if it was a waste of time.
I've used in on my stock Razr. It force closed every day, so I've gone back to Apex launcher.

Ive used it on Eclipse and Koa Roms. So far I havent had any issues. Im my opinion the only issue is if you have the weather set to display when you get to the main menu it doesnt show as soon as you get there. I takes it a few seconds. Other than that its not to bad.
For some reason once I used it my battery life was horrible. I'm not sure if it was because I was running both the apex launcher and hax but either way I though it was petty cool. Just needs more live titles. Maybe I'll try and make some...

As of the past couple days some times when I'm typing in the web browser the keyboard will come up for a couple seconds and then go away and I can't get it to come back unless I close the app and come back, and even that doesn't work sometimes. The also seems to be really laggy to lately and doesn't do what I want it to do in time or at all.

Not enough info to help you out! What ROM? New flash or been running for a while? which keyboard? No such thing as too much info.
I've had the same exact problem myself in past roms installed and on the latest DU 4.3.1 (11/05) build I'm on now. Stock keyboard and SwiftKey... Real pain in the ass... Seems more frequent when in Chrome... Or dolphin browser.... Figured it was something I'd have to put up with if I want to stay with the latest bleeding edge.... If anyone has a remedy for this please let us know!! Much appreciated.
Edit: we might get a quicker response of this is moved to the Q&A/ trouble shooting thread...?
