hello again this ROM's also running on the COM 5 6.5.5 23569 build
i've supplemented the SYS build with the inclusion of unedited MEGA packages from the EXT dump provided by the all knowing Da_G
but the biggest change coming our way is the fact that this is ROM is the first one in the GENE forums to be XDA_UC compatible

as of now there is only one version of it out...and its loaded with most system apps required for basic use...all secondary stuff has been left out to be installed by the user as required...you could even use the XDA_UC feature to let the phone install on its own

all icons and graphics have been redone to comply with the minimalistic Metro look...

almost all packages used are from the hTC MEGA ROM dump
these packages have also been skinned (partly done for now...will release a cumulative update later)
a slightly older hTC album v2 instead of the v3 (which was also working) because v3 lacked the gestures to zoom and our GENE doesn't support multi-touch and pinch to zoom
the fullscreen player integrated with the album is also working fine
.mp4 files which refused to play without core/tcpmp player installled now play perfectly (bug fixed from last ROM)
obex inbox package for setting default location for incoming bluetooth beams (another bug from last ROM, shocked no one reported that one in)
set Segoe as default font, same as thant in Windows Phone 7
S2P downgraded to 0.58 to reduce size and include album art flow feature which was disabled in later versions
as you will notice there are no homescreen UIs such as titanium, manila, etc in the ROM...i've kept it empty to maintain the neutrality of the ROM...users can install SPB, Throttle Launcher, hTC Home, or even Manila if they want to...i've tried it with Manila 2.0 and i'm glad to say it works
i've also left out the default lockscreen for now...i'll include it and the titanium UI when i'm done editing them the way i want...and since most people use S2U2 anyways, it won't be missed that much
and most importantly i'd like to thank kane159 for his theme (which i've tweaked a bit here and there)
other than that...the ROM is clean...50+ Mb of user available space

hey everyone...thanks for dropping by here!
i'd promised a better follow up to my last ROM and here it is, but as before its still in its testing phase as i've designed it to fit my requirements more than the generalised user...so after collecting a week or two's input from those testing the rom in that time i'll be releasing another version of the same to meet any new significant demands with any bug fixes that may be needed...
so to my fellow GENE users who suffer from ORD like i do...go ahead and give it a go!!

[ROM][OLD GENE & NEW GENE] 6.5.5 Build 23569 Psychocynicystic WWE
this ROM's running on the com5 6.5.5 23569 build
now although the 6.5.x builds are heavier on the tiny RAM space the GENE has to offer, i still prefer the newer interface to the old one, and the 6.5.x builds give me the sort of experience i would expect from my WM phone...
i've made two versions, one loaded mainly according to my own needs and another lite rom suggested by karan
the loaded rom has most of the apps i (and perhaps other users like me) need for everyday use and maintainance but i've left out stuff like a pdf reader, music player and mobile office so that users who do use it can install it externally if required and those who don't have that much more free space
the lite rom is stripped all external apps like the album viewer, homescreen UI and such but i've left all the manila dependancies on the rom for users that want to install manila afterwards (and i've tested it just to make sure it does actually work)
now to the more nitty-gritty specifications

and the android taskbar has been taken from pin12's thread too
a few minor changes that have been made (which i really missed in the previous ROMs i used) was stuff like-

the ROM's name is just an extension of my username here and a few other sites...it has its own deep and meaningful and pointless reason behind it but i don't want to bore everyone here with it..
and my real name's Akshay but i don't really have a problem with being called "psycho" either...that's what my friends call me anyways...
i understand the issue with the RAM...but after trying out all the different builds out there i don't really want to use anything other than the com5 builds...just love these things...its a shame they stopped development on this branch...
i've tried using this rom with my docomo and airtel sims and it worked like a charm but i noticed a serious lag in speed while using a reliance sim card...just one particular sim...my friend's sim worked fine but my own one dragged on the speed...
anyone having this problem or perhaps a solution- do let me know about it...

wot kind of lag is it.phonecalls/messages send/receive,or while using applications.
Also,somethings wrong with my kitchen.i need to know which or rather whose kitchen are u using.there is an unwanted black screen during bootup sequence between HTC main screen and splash screen(regardless of using the boot animation).
i want you to upload your rom kitchen including the ext folder.irrespective of the file size,first i want to see how the kitchen performs.then i'll add my ext files and recheck.

honestly...i haven't a clue which files are from which kitchen...
my very first kitchen was the one from besfen's tutorial thread on cooking with the ervius kitchen...then i moved on to sumit's customized kitchen...and in between i've been changing a few files from the tools folder in the kitchen with newer versions i found on the site...
the OEM folder and ROM folders too have been significantly changed...
i've mixed and matched files from dumped ROMs and others stuff i found from here and other sites...
its a cocktail!!
but i'll try and upload my kitchen anyways...but i can't say when...i'll try my best to make it at the earliest...

thanx man...i don't exactly remember where my SYS build was originally taken from...its been patched to make it work properly by mixing files i got from builds posted on this site and that posted by joojoobee...
i've uploaded my SYS build, the link for the download is posted up on karan's thread...
i'm kinda tied up right now so i can't promise anything about posting up the EXT folder...i'll be posing the entire kitchen up in a day or two...i'll pass the link on to you and you can dl it from there if you wanna...
btw...if you are having problems with the cameraloader i suggest getting rid of it altogether...that's the only way i got my camera to even start...

and i've been thinking on making a rom built more for the performance oriented user inspired by pawanbaw's efforts here...like instead of having the most latest versions of all the packages from the htc mega like i've done in this release i thought about using older packages from the htc touch or perhaps even the gene's shipped ROMs...and using an older sys build since the older ones were less RAM and ROM heavy...
i had tried out something similar when working on my previous release and the ROM turned out just fine...so i've decided to give it another go...
just need some input from you guys...anything you can think of...
Hi, I am Partha from Kolkata, India.
I have installed and used this ROM on my New Gene. I have a Vodafone connection. It runs smooth as silk. No lags, no freeze up, nothing. It runs very fast and stable.
One point though - when I change the background, only the background of the Home Screen changes. I would like the same screen change on the other screens as well, not only the Home Screen.

The rationale behind this ROM was to make it clean and stock-like. It was made for the HTC Touch Pro and is my interpretation of what a WM 6.5 ROM would be like if HTC had designed it themselves (minus Manila/TF3D). Only HTC applications (or applications which have been included in official HTC ROMs) have been included in this ROM, and any third-party applications must be installed by the user. No weird and wonderful customisations have been made to this ROM in keeping with the stock-like philosophy. Everything that you might expect HTC to include in their official ROMs (with the exception of TF3D) has been included, in addition to standard WM6.5 features. Another goal in this ROM was to keep it as bug-free as possible and thus the absolute latest and usually buggy versions of applications may not be included. I have used the latest bug-free versions of applications.
This ROM is similar to Da_G's clean ROM, except it is customised for the Touch Pro, and includes more HTC applications than his ROM. These include the Comm Manager, Calculator, Album, MP3 Trimmer, Power Off Warning, Connection Setup plus others. .NetCF 3.5 and Opera Mobile browser are also included in this ROM. This ROM is UC enabled.
Note that this ROM is for a generic HTC Touch Pro and is NOT customised for any particular carrier such as AT&T. The keyboard layout is for the Touch Pro, so if you are using a Fuze please download and install this file found in post #2. If you are using a Fuze and wish to remap the PTT button, please install this cab. This ROM has been tested extensively and undergone many updates and bug-fixes. Having said that, if you find any bugs, please don't hesitate to describe them below.
Lastly, for your information, this ROM uses the 1.14.25.35 rilphone.dll. Enjoy the ROM!

Known Issues
The task manager is no longer accessible by a single click. This obviously changes as soon as you begin to play with it, but after a fresh install, you should be looking at 330mb of Storage memory and 105mb of Program memory free.

I have chosen not to include TF3D in this ROM because in my opinion TF3D2 is too buggy, and TF3D1 is not any better than the WM6.5 titanium interface. If a newer version of TF3D2 is released in the future, I will consider cooking it in at a later stage. However, currently one of my major aims with this ROM is for it to be completely bug-free which is at odds with the inclusion of TF3D2.

I like TF3D and I think that i'm not only one person who would like to have it and your rom will be much closer to stock rom. maybe there is a cab file with TF3D1?

Sorry, I don't have a cab file for TF3D1, but for TF3D2 look here. Another reason for not cooking TF3D in is that it consumes a LOT of memory, and this is a waste if you're not going to use it (I personally don't think the tradeoff is worthwhile).
I like it without TF3d.

Me too. If someone likes TF3D, he can always find a cab and just - install it. The same goes for any other application. For example, I'm using SPB Mobile Shell3, and I will of cource install that app as soon as I flash this ROM.
11 September 2009: Thanks to @krazy_about_technology for his kitchen for build 21854. I have just made a lite ROM out of it. Sharing the same, after seeing some interest.
Please note that, this ROM is for those who always wanted a lite version of Windows Mobile OS, where he can experiment and add a lot of different applications and interfaces such as SPB Mobile Shell etc. as well as easily upgrade to new versions of applications. So, many of the fats in regular WM roms are removed, and thus achieved a ROM free space of 66 MB. The rom is really fast, thanks to the tweaking by @krazy_about_technology.
IMPORTANT: I have not tested the ROM for OLD Gene, since I don't have the device. Hence, if anybody faces any issues, please let me know.
RAM: 25 MB free (On Startup) [Camera loader cab provided by @Helgee can be used to increase 4 MB plus more RAM]
Internal Storage: 65.5 MB free

NOTE: No screenshots are included, since the interfaces is like any other WM6.5 ROM. ROM Content is similar to my previous 21815 build version (see below). Again, neither Titanium nor Office are included. Office can be easily installed on storage card and works smoothly on this ROM. But I have retained some MEGA packages from Sumit's kitchen. A few items such as XDA Shutdown, Opal_StreamingSrcFilter etc. are included as well. Other changes are a different Audio Booster version and inclusion EZ Input 2 keyboard (No T9). This version of Audio Booster is included just because it gels very will with HRS WOW HD (thanks to @rahmanee for the idea) and doesn't need the headset to be connected in order to work. Two when gets combined, the result is unbelievable. Though I have not included HRS WOW HD with the ROM, thinking that if a new version gets introduced, people can easily upgrade. Those who wanted to use HRS WOW HD, search for version 1.2.10.0, which really works well and stable. You will get the cab file somewhere in XDA forum itself.

Update - 22 August 2009: Somehow, my love for 21815 build remains even after using some latest builds such as 23017. May be, the XIP for this build which was tweaked by Sumit to the optimum for Gene, always gives me the best results. Since seeing some interest about the same from someone yesterday, I thought of uploading the latest tweaked version here.
Please note that this version has neither Titanium nor Office. It is one of the litest and stable version for Gene, though some important packages such as Transcriber, Opal DShow etc are included. The idea of omiting titanium was to give the user the flexibility to use any interface he likes, such as SPB Mobile Shell 3 (my favorite), Wisbar Advance Desktop, Point UI etc. I have increased the page pool to 6 MB for this build to get better response results.
The detials of configuration is as follows:
RAM: 25.22 MB free (On Startup) [Camera loader cab provided by @Helgee can be used to increase 4 MB plus more RAM]

Update - 08 July 2009: The ROM is tweaked a bit and added some basic good apps such as Task Manager Advanced. Office Mobile is also added, since it was found that Office runs much faster when installed on storage. So, the internal storage size is reduced to 52 MB around. Have been using the same for 2 weeks, and found very stable.

Update - 23 June 2009: The previously uploaded ROM was having .NET Compact Framework 2.0, inside. I have upgraded the same to .NET Compact Framework 3.5 with this release.
First of all I am not sure, whether I am right to create a new thread for this. Sorry about the same, if otherwise. I just cooked, perhaps my first ROM (hd cooked ROMs earlier, but never got the courage to post it here), which I thought of sharing with those newbs who prefer a lite-weight one (54.18 MB Internal Storage free), for their use. I have used the XIP provided by our Great Sumit (aka @krazy_about_technology) and SYS provied by another Great, Ankit. Thanks a ton for those guys who have given so much of contribution to this forum.
I am not providing any screenshots, as it is a standard WM 6.5 ROM. Details of the configuration is as follows:
RAM: 25.5 MB free (On Startup) [Camera loader cab provided by @Helgee can be used to increase 4 MB plus more RAM]

Also, packages such as Cyberon Voice Commander are not there. And, sorry guys, have also removed Office to get more storage free space, so that those who want Office can install separately on Storage Card.

The previously uploaded ROM was having .NET Compact Framework 2.0, inside, as it was straightaway taken from Ankit's Sys, with some slight modifications. I have upgraded the same to .NET Compact Framework 3.5 with this release.
Nice to see one more Cooker, more ROM more better.

I have updated the pagepool to 5 MB (though not uploaded here), as I have seen a comment from Sumit in his thread that 4 MB PP might cause hangs when stand by, which actually was happening in my case, some times. Now, after updating to 5 MB the same is working smooth.
As far as my experience with 21815 build is concerned, I feel this is the most stable yet. The RAM even after using for hours, didn't go below 19.5 MB, at least in my case. That too when I am using SPB Mobile Shell as well as S2U2 2.1 in my phone. Have disabled titanium though.
Since 21815 build is having some changes in theme API, some third party themes were giving some issues and was giving some grey colored background in popups or some menu backgrounds. So the third party themes will require some updates before these issues can be resolved. Though, there is a temporary workaround for the same, which I have been able to do successfully. Please follow the following link, if anyone interested:

Sorry @BesFen, since the issue with the XIP related to old gene is not yet resolved for WM 6.5, I doubt I will be able to release a version of the same soon.

I think no problem with the XIP for old gene.
@dheeraj: Excellent ROM, it looks Your SPB setup is also cool, congrats on your first attempt, really well done.
There is no problem with XIP of old gene, i guess the problem is in sys somewhere. And i suspect Bluetooth and Bluetooth_0409 folders as these folders have many times caused even new gene roms to hang at boot. There is one simple test for XIP, if the phone boots upto WIndows Mobile Splash screen, then XIP is OK.
And your writeup also gives me a hint. Maybe all these memory leaks which are so much pain in the a$$ are due to Titanium. Coz as you said, with titanium disabled, 6.5 is working great. Although i like titanium very much but not at this cost.
For now i am working on a new build for Wm 6.1 Pro Users ROM with build 21051. The ROM is ready, just not uploaded. Its working superb on my phone, the speediest ever. With that, i am also testing the XIP for old gene, since this SYS is running fine on both phones. So if all goes well, i will post the xip that you can use to port your rom to old gene with the new memory management architecture introduced in WM 6.1 and 6.5.

A shop owner told me 17K , need to confirm that first . Yeah that spec is correct, 192 MB RAM, of which 64 MB is dedicated to the graphics chipset.
But the problem is pple in other forums are not as helpful as this forum. So if I don't get help, then why not Omnia .

Hi Hello I m new here.....but been observing everythin from around 1month and i came upto a decision to update my ROM to this one i somehow changed it but everything fine execept the Volume when your are speaking to someone is very low and when your recive a call the phone hangs like a hall.....you cant control the phone untill unless the other party disconnects the call plz help me.........

Sorry to hear that. This ROM is based on very old build of 6.5. So I guess the issue. Hence I would suggest you to use some other chef's ROM for time being.
As I am not working on this ROM currently.

Amazing ROM .........
Hey i think you remember me was the first one to post my experience about your ROM, first when i flashed your ROM the message input i mean the keyboard wasnt working and when i reciv a call it used to hang....then i took Sumit Pro 6.5, Karanz Ultimate 7 WM6.5, Batras Purple edition and the one with start menu at bottom but one major biggest difference is that the theme or the style whats in the ROM, when i installed Sumit Pro everything ok except the today screen it doesnt look like a WM 6.5 real and you cant select multiple files just by moving your stylus on them you have hold contrl key and they select and in Batra's the today screen also the same problm and in Karanz ultimate everything ok but something missing like the titanium i didnt like the TOuchFlo though ABOVE ALL OF THESE ROM YOUR ROM STOOD AT AMAZING 22 MB RAM AND I THING AROUND 50 MB ROM FREE and my request is there any way that to fix that startmenu thing i.e if i select any option or setting it should come back again to startmenu but its going to TODAY screen and can you give me your original base .nbh so i will try to build a ROM just try ok......

Anyways, i dont understand your problem with today screen, i think Karan is using a different today plugin. My ROMs are nearly "stock" roms, i mean nothing is customized much, i just package everything that comes with the build in such a way that it can run efficiently on our gene. Karan on the other hand customizes his roms a lot, so it might be that he is using a different today plugin.
It can also happen that it was a feature in that particular build coz features come and go between builds from different development trees, if u know what i mean.
The start menu beheviour that you are complaining about is default in WM 6.5. The "staying in start menu" beheviour was in WM 6.1. In WM 6.5, only the settings menu behaves like that, not the whole start menu.

Extendir is a file system filter driver that significantly increases the performance of your phone, in specific situations even up to 12 times as fast and faster…
Just cook it in to your rom and of you go!
A nice side effect of the architecture of Extendir is that you should have longer battery life!
(I don’t have real test results for this yet so I don't know how much longer you do with your battery but I've heard confirmations.)
But Extendir has also a very nice bonus feature: it can extend your windows directory!
Every file (not folder) that will be installed in the folder “\Extendir\WinDir” or in any one of its subfolders will get a virtual alias in the windows folder. When the OS request the file from the windows folder, it will be redirected to the real location of the file without the OS ever knowing about it.

what is extendir?:
Extendir is a file system filter driver that significantly increases the performance of your phone, in specific situations even up to 12 times as fast and faster…
Just cook it in to your rom and of you go!
A nice side effect of the architecture of Extendir is that you should have longer battery life!
(I don’t have real test results for this yet so I don't know how much longer you do with your battery but I've heard confirmations.)
But Extendir has also a very nice bonus feature: it can extend your windows directory!
Every file (not folder) that will be installed in the folder “\Extendir\WinDir” or in any one of its subfolders will get a virtual alias in the windows folder. When the OS request the file from the windows folder, it will be redirected to the real location of the file without the OS ever knowing about it.

I already tried this but it is only for use for advance users who knew directory structures of our phone, will release the next version with this

Different yes, why?
First, I use one of the latest WM builds 29020( newest is 29022)
reported by well respected Devs and cooks ( as was brain's last WM Build used in his beta) to be stabile,fast and good on battery management, all of which I can confirm. As well, i use the latest Oboe 1.18 2021 core, updating the entire core which includes a few from Oboe 2022.
The main new feature Full LandScape is actually built into the structure of the phone canvas rebuilt by Laurentius26 and includes rebuilt 409 core and new caller ID fixes.
Second, Obviously I used his kitchen so I was very mindful of tweaks,settings and fixes that help functionality and stability.
Last, the only way for one to know is to try the rom!! but obviously either no one has flashed or cares to leave important feedback so that we can know for sure.
I'm sorry for you guys here on S200 NeoTouch forum that there is not allot of activity.
BUT, its very nice that someone is still cooking ROM for the Acer.
I moved from HD2 to Nexus S, and I'm now cooking the MIUI ROM for Nexus S. (See the signature) - if someone is moving to Nexus S, you are welcome to use my MIUI ROM.

sadly I am not a gamer but will try to find a solution for you.
although I just dowloaded,installed and tried to play this game but it was
the wrong version. But the screen (g-sensor) still worked fine

I flash the rom yesterday. Its everythings good.
I chek the ezinput menu, sense is disabled and i adjust the g sensor sensitivity slider but the turn function not working in the game.
I read the comments in other threads but nothing happens. In Brainmasters Rom the game was working good!

I have to say that I'm a bit confused and disappointed
cooking for me started out as a curiosity then through studying brainmasters kitchen and many,many days, nights and hours of research,trial and a whole lot of error, I finally got it.
This project\rom was only to be a personal challenge then many of you started to ask for newer builds ( some resorting to vulgar posts!) even after i tried to point some of you in the direction of proven Roms in particular from brainmaster and arto. But the complaints continued coupled with little or no activity here in the forum so I decided to share in hopes of sparking a little life here. Maybe It did, maybe it didn't... but my point was to contribute something to a community that gave my phone continued life! so in this i am satisfied
I didn't do this as a competition or for any kind of glory or gain what so ever. But i I must say( with no bad intentions or mean to offend anyone) to have someone question the usefulness of personal expression,with "what's new" or ask for a package when the answer is clearly written in the first post ( Cracing-OBOE 1.18 ext.)or having no idea whether the rom truly works or aside from two posters, whether anyone even downloaded it in the first place....not to mention guys still downloading "DISCONTINUED" Roms
I now understand why feedback is IMPORTANT!! and you should too!! because
what to fix,tweak or replace makes for a better Rom and benefits everyone!
Anyway, my most humble apologies 'cause no one asked or forced me to do this! and many thanks to Brainmaster,Woaloo and the two members that posted and said thanks I will leave the link to the Rom for anyone who maybe able to use it.

so far i'm on galaxy s now, my wife is still using my S200 and i will try to install your new rom on it (if she agree... not sure lol)
Anyway a friend of mine has just crashed is S200 and he asked me to reflash the rom, so i will try your rom asap
Sorry for the poor feedbacks but i think that the number of S200 users is decreasing by now...
about NFS shift, i leaved some messages about it in the past and if i remember you need the HTC and TG01 sensor dlls to make it work and moreover you need to delete 1 specific file in the directory game i think
Hope you will not discontinue

The gaming issue has been addressed in V1.2 and should be fine now.
but it would be nice to know if nfs shift is ok now.( I don't play)
