Hello,
My operator "Orange France" have send me an Xperia X10 with Android 2.1, strange, but it's real.
Someone can explain me how to dump this rom (and extract my personnal data, for a clean ROM) ?
If i can dump i will share this rom (unreleased, very strange too) for the community.

Chill people. Lier or not a lier, he has asked a question in Android Development and give him the answer and call it a day. I don't know what is it with you people to get angry over every little thing. Some people fall for this and some don't we are Maximum 30 days away from the 2.1 updates anyways. Not worth to kill yourself over such a little subject.

I have to agree.
Everyone shut the **** up and have some patience. It's not that hard. We've been waiting for 2.1 for how long? 1 more day can't hurt.

... no we don't. Our corporate contracts are with Vodafone right through the group or their affiliations where they can't provide.
Needless to say, I don't work that high up to have experienced it and if you have international working links you must be at LEAST GCB6 of which people at that level don't post idiotic claims like this.

I won't believe SE-Android 2.1 for x10 is out there until I have it on my device, but I'd gladly give anyone who claims to have it/have important info on it the benefit of doubt and chance to proof it. =)

Hi Tomboss, well that's very common on this forum. 90% of the posts are bullsh**t, whining, yelling and so on.
I'm also very unpleasant with that situation.
Afaik, there is actually no way to get a dump directly from the phone to the PC.
I guess the only way is to perform a repair flashing through SEUS / PC Companion.
Unfortunately, the whole Phone will return to its delivery status.
But you'll have all files dumped from the SE Servers to your Harddisk, as they are downloaded from SEUS again.
Before, you can Backup about 100% of the Phone by using "Titanium Backup".
Just to make sure, you're not running into a wall.
Are you 100% sure, you didn't confuse Android 2.1 and S///Es Version Numbers like "R2Bxxx".

Did you look on the phone at the firmware version?
Also i think you may need to root it to use titanium backup. There is a quick root on here somewere that is quick and easy to use, called x10root.

Let me explain myself. The files are from extranet servers, correct but the files were repacked to be used by users. I let people debrand for free on multiple ocassions, and all I want is for users to respect the rules listed in my threads. If the download link doesn't work for somebody then I will try to mirror is myself in 48hrs. I also like to keep download statistics for myself which then can be used to look for popularity in files. If you have further questions in regards to this thread then please contact me through PM as the posts here are going offtopic.

Erm, isn't this tutorial exactly the same as that for the Xperia X10 apart from the X10 mini files? Not sure why you are somehow trying to claim a 'right' to it. This is the Internet after all.
Also, if I remember correctly, the instructions to debrand the Xperia X10 were first posted up by C987. You've got some nerve claiming that you somehow own this information.
Probably he want the "rights" to earn money by donations via PayPal, but that doesn't worry me...

First debranded X10 by SEUS was done by me (private). I didn't release the method until another person manages to do it in public. When Andy managed it, I released my tutorial.
Again, anything you want to discuss with me then write a PM and you will sure get a reply back.
I'm well aware of your claims of doing it privately, but why not just release it then? Also, my original post was to point out that you are not giving out proprietary information so you shouldn't stick caveats like that in your tutorial.
This method to debrand Sony Ericsson products has remained essentially the same for years, it's not as if these are new instructions. By all means restrict the use of the files that you have uploaded (after all nobody else has access to these), but don't claim any copyright on the method.

yea but apparently its his method and he owns it... its a nice tutorial and glad you posted it to help x10 mini users but going so overboard on the 'this is mine' 'no one else even copy and paste it' stuff is just ridiculous considering its been around for years

Did you read the General Sticky? I tried very hard to make that as clear as possible. Just download the file, rename it, put it not in a folder in sdcard/ and then go to stock recovery (with your phone off, press and hold both volume keys, press and hold power, release power at the Vibrant screen while still holding both volume keys) then click on apply update, reboot phone and you are rooted.

Listen, i was in your position not too long ago, trust me , email thegreat520. I was a straight noob and now know a lot of **** and flash custom roms and do **** to my phone all the time flawlessly and he taught me it all, email him dude.
Can you post what he sent you? I've always been extremely curious why he says to email him rather than post the answers for EVERYONE.

@ OP: if your looking for stable as in, set it & forget it, do yourself a favor & wait... Seriously! One way I tell how a ROM is doing is read the first 2 post & last 2 pages. If you see the same issues being stated, dont flash, unless you are willing to deal with that problem.

He was just very patient and answered all my questions, and he's a very trustworthy guy. I bricked my phone about a month ago and have linux and couldn't use odin plus i was still a noob so seeing as my options were buy a new phone or say **** it and send it to him i sent my phone to him and he fixed it, added froyo and shipped it back. Plus he taught me a lot now i kno how to do a LOT now and no longer consider myself a "noob".
Thegreat520 should be a mod on here as he is by far the most helpful person i've ever come across online.

LOL I Thought the EXACT Same thing, because that sounds very fishy. Considering the time it took to ship there and back... like a week to 12 days at the very least? He must of had access to a STABLE version of Froyo before everyone else here on the board.

i just flashed cognition s2 to have a try out, finished what i was doing - flashed the stock kg6 and then mine...no bootloops (cache wipe, dalvik cache wipe and factory reset performed)
i get boot loop issues if i try and flash villainrom (following the instructions to the letter) - i dont know why but it seems not all phones will flash all custom roms

ive been cooking firmwares for the samsung i8910 for 1 & 1/2 years now, never had a complaint about the website during that entire time apart from when it got hacked ...what great people on this forum

The obvious answer would be: If you don't like it, don't download it.
You make it sound as if he is forcing you to sign up with your precious email and download from his server..and when things don't turn out the way you wanted you start to insult him and his work?
Oh come on..this is no way to behave on XDA, which i have always seen as a friendly place with respectable and polite posters.
As for the fact that Darkside Agent doesn't have as high a post count as you in here is because he is fairly new to the Android modding scene + XDA. But he is quite well-known and trusted in other phone modding forums..something you could have found out if you had bothered to actually read his website a bit more thoroughly.

So you went in to mounts and storage and clicked on format system? factory wipe/reset will not format system just in case you were unaware

i have preware and a number of patches installed currently. is it safe to install the cm7 build while these are installed? or do i have to restore to factory before attempting android install? thx in advance
I had the same, and installed CM7 without any problems. So I say, just go for it - you gonna love it. If you have any problems installing just ask, and Ill see if I can help (and if I cant, theres about 100 others who can)

Yep, I believe the kernal has nothing to do with the android installation, Android has it's own kernel. I have F4 Phantom installed and am having no issues what so ever -- other than the ones that everyone else is having due it's alpha state

all these things have the potential to turn your precious electronics into expensive paperweights. That goes for anything.

I'm getting tired of people using this BS as an excuse for reckless behavior.
Modding/Using something foreign to you without first knowing how it works is being reckless.
We were all new a some point in time.
Just that there are usually instructions with anything you buy or directions on how to perform a procedure. It is called being prudent.
Would you perform surgery on someone without knowing everything that is involved in surgery?
Would you let someone who doesn't know how to drive a car onto the road?
Would you let someone that doesn't know how to cook prepare a meal for you?
I can go on and on.
So why would you risk damaging you precious $$$ device?
Read the directions/manuals and ask questions if you don't understand something. When you fully understand what you are doing and all accompanying risks, then you should proceed with caution.

Actually it might be a good idea to remove it as there is a limited amount of space in the /boot partition, so if you've got a ton of kernels or other stuff in there, there may not be enough space left for moboot and cm7's uimage. Shouldn't be an issue if you've only added one kernel though, but just sayin'...
My reply to all of you is this:
THOUSANDS of people bought these CLEARANCE tablets with the intention of getting Android on them. It would be different if this was a $500 tablet and people actually cared about the value. I know that I wouldn't have bought it for anymore than the $100 I spent, and that makes it more of a TOY than anything.
I say that if people want to flash this, there is no reason why it can't be easy. Hundreds of people are saying "Thank you" because they wouldn't have been able to do this without my video. To them, I say "You're Welcome." To the rest of you, if this video bothers you, don't watch it.
Noobs will always exist, I'm just trying to do my part in helping them de-noobify themselves. (is that a word? Well, it is now.) Some of you act like you have to EARN the right to flash this. I don't understand that. People understand the risk and make their decision based on their level of comfort. If I screw something up, I ask for help. If YOU screw something up, YOU ask for help. Ok i rooted my phone and unlocked it as well. I rooted only for the purpose of only getting a .08 to .3 KBps data speed in an area the is supposed to have been overhauled. I have had the damn phone replaced three times with no results. I have replaced the modem to the best one which still only gives me at best 1.66MBps. Well now when I use the hotspot.......only computer can connect!!!!! NONE OF MY OTHER 12 COMPUTERS CAN CONNECT AT ALL.....AND WHEN IT DOES IT DOES NOT GET AN IP ADDRESS AND WHEN I TRY TO TURN OFF THE HOTSPOT AND BACK ON I GET AN ERROR!!!!! I go into airplane mode and and then turn it off and I am able to connect but only this one damn computer!!!!! how in the hell can I fix this!!!!! PS. PLEASE DO NOT TELL ME TO SEARCH FOR THIS PROBLEM....BECAUSE I HAVE ALREADY DONE THIS AND I HAVE COME UP WITH NOTHING BUT BULL****!!!! I WANT HONEST ANSWERS TO THIS PROBLEM!!!!!!! THANKS SO MUCH!!

What more you need to know...I told you everything I did in detail!!!! I used clockwork mod recovery to root the phone.......when I started not being able to use more then one computer to restores the unlock to lock the phone and I still have the same problem!!!! restore the modem back to uckk6 and still have the problem!!!! All I did was root the phone....then unlocked the phone.....then tried other modems when I did this now my hotspot is hosed.......no more then one computer can connect to the hotspot!!!

I'd hardly call what you posted detailed.
If you have CWM then you were already rooted. What method did you use to install CWM? What "best" modem did you install? What ROM are you using? What method did you use to unlock? Where did you look? What searches have you done? I can go on an on with the questions......
I think it best to speak in a softer/nicer tone especially when asking for help. There are a lot of people here that are more than willing to help those that have a genuine interest in learning.

All I know is I have been searching and searching on this site for over a week and there is no solution to my problem. And every post I see has pages of posts saying you did not say much or search these forums before you post!!!!!! I DID SEARCH!!!!!! AND I WANTED TO STATE RIGHT OFF.......THAT YOU SHOULD SEARCH!!!!!!! I DID THAT!!!!! I do not know what more you want me to explain!!!!
1. Rooted my phone using ODIN with the ClockworkMod-Recovery_5.0.2.3
2. Installed Superuser-3.0.7
3. Unlocked my phone with Galaxy S Unlock", the author is "Helroz"
4. After this I get the triangle and Samsung Galaxy S II I9100 on the splash screen.
5. Tried every modem and the best one seems to UCLC2 Modem.
6. After I did all this one one computer can hookup to my hotspot.
7. When a second computer tries to hookup.....First computer losses connection and second one never connects to get an IP address.
8. When you turn off the Hotspot it give you a message "ERROR"
9. In order to get reconnected I have to turn on airplane modes and then off and then the first computer can connect again.
I am just sooooo upset with this ****!!!!! Been fighting AT&T for 5 months with no results. And even with all the modems I have tried I get no more speed then at most times of .3 to .7kbps!!! I can't even download all the original files to restore completely to stock because I am getting about an 80% packet loss!!!!! And the download always fails anywhere from 50 to 70% I am so frustrated with this I am about to take a sledge hammer to this phone and tell AT&T to stick their network where the sun don't shine!!!

K, i'm going to bite my tongue for a bit and try to help you. But you really are sounding like a demanding vulgar little child. So please tone it down and sound grateful so some smarter people might be tempted to help you solve your issue.
What ROM are you using? What security protocol are you using? I'm going to assume you're using Windows 7 on all your machines.... What are you setting as your network location? Home? Work? Public?
Have you already tried the basics.... wiping cache, wiping davlik, fix permission? Have you done a factory reset?

Just to start out.......I am not a demanding vulgar little child..........STOP WITH THE BS........I Happen to be a CCDE (Cisco Certified Design Expert) I know what I am doing and have the basic knowledge of phones!!!! I did all the basic stuff. I am very tired I have been dealing AT&T for months, I have been on this forum for days!!!! And I work 16 to 18 hours a day!!!!! And all I want is to be able to connect more then one computer on my hotspot....THAT IS ALL!!!! I AM COMPLETELY EXHAUSTED DEALING WITH THIS PROBLEM!!!!! And I may have sounded vulgar starting this post.....but I want to lay the thread out properly by saying........I am not a noobie, I don't want post saying did you search......did you do the basics.....I already did that!!!!!
Now for the questions to your answer.....I have not changed the rom....it is the stock rom.

5. I just flashed the kernel back to stock and it is still doing the same problem!!

And? So you're good at taking tests. Does that garner you a certain level of respect? My 9yr old can set up a network. I could care less if you're exhausted in dealing with this issue. You're demanding answers. You're not asking for help. If you already claim to know the tone of this forum why all the high and mighty "oh look at me! I'm a CCDE.
