How do I do it? I've googled and searched and changed the phrasing of my question multiple times, I've tried unyaffs with no avail, and I'm quite honestly ready to give up.
Editing an Acer Liquid E system.img, if that makes any difference.

Hey all, Well i know we could not wait for a Honeycomb theme, i know i cannot, but heres my conundrum.
I have made a honeycomb keyboard, but cannot get it to install for the life of me, ive used the testkeys, shared, platform, etc (all using Signapktic from Stericson. Does anyone have any clue as to why it will not install?

I know that most of the keyboards dont work simply by installing but rather need to be pushed to the data\app or data\app_s folder depending on which rom you are running. You can accomplish this using adb or using a file explorer like RootExplorer.

I'm not sure what .zip you're refering to other than a CWM recovery flashable .zip for you keyboard. If this is what you mean, then use the same signiture (key) you'd find in any of the flashable .zips on the forums. In other words, just copy over the META-INF folder from some other .zip to yours. Of course, you'll want to make sure the update-script in this folder is pointing at the proper directories for installation.
For your apk, you should only need to sign it if you changed the AndroidManifest.xml. Otherwise, just keep the META-INF folder from them original apk.

Sorry if i might be a bit rude in this post but i'm writing this after 2 hours of messing with various tools and commands so i might one day successfully unpack the ROM and see what's inside of it.
Steps i made are:
Installed cygwin
Unpacked the stock sony ics live with walkman rom with universal extractor, and another attempt with 7zip
converted system.sin to system.img with SIN2IMG
and that's where it all stops.
i have xperia rom manager, and when i try to unpack the system.img to a folder, i get nothing but errors.
tried with flashtool to create yfft2 or whatever it's called, and open it with yaffey - didn't work.
As i'm pulling my hair out right now, i seek for additional information and guidance to finally unpack the stupid ROM.

Btw please, dont tell me to search for answers, because i did my research and i couldn't find a thing. If i somehow missed a thread where it is all explained, please, forgive me, and link it if it's not too hard.
[edit] almost forgot, i tried to extract with yaffsexpert with my phone, didnt work. and also sry for my lack of knowledge about this stuff, i'm trying to learn, but there's a bunch of stuff.....
SO I realized that I deleted my goldcard folder with the goldcard tool and img...and I went over to the Goldcard thread and all the links are dead. I left a reply on the thread...however, I thought that maybe someone would have it over here. Does anyone happen to have the tool and img file and upload them?

Thanks guys...I haven't been on XDA for awhile. I guess I shall save them to the cloud so I dont have to worry about anything getting deleted.
Does any one know how can I unpack and repack system images using cygwin? can you give me the complete and understandable tutorials on it? I have tried all of the tutorials here in XDA, but it seems that I can't follow the right way. Please to someone, extend a helping hand on me.

Does anyone have any knowledge in this? And has the small time to help me through this?
