[Q] Handsfree dialing - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Why is there only in the Android versions from the Nexus a voice dialing possibility? I like the mdeejay build, but again no voicedialing. The same problem with de original windows mobile HD2. I know, that you can use google voice search, but this mostly doesn't work with my Jabra. I still have to push buttons on the device itself, instead of REAL handsfree (pushing the button on m Jabra). Could someone please develop an app, that does the same in the HTC android, or is there already a working solution?

are you seriously complaining

Why is there only in the Android versions from the Nexus a voice dialing possibility....
............there are other build besides nexus....
I know, that you can use google voice search, but this mostly doesn't work with my Jabra....
.............get in a long line of people wanting this....
I still have to push buttons on the device itself, instead of REAL handsfree (pushing the button on m Jabra)....
.............are you serious.......
Could someone please develop an app, that does the same in the HTC android, or is there already a working solution?............
once again are you serious

Yes, of course I am serious. It's a mobile phone, so I should be able to use my phone handsfree. What's strange about that?

Nothing you are asking for stuff that alt of people want did you read anything about what works and what doesn't when you start asking and making threads requesting things is like a slap in the face to the devs who already know what's wrong just be happy with what's is working, or at the last post in the right section, like the general section..or post in the thread of the build your using
Sent from my Htcclay's SuperHD2 using Tapatalk

The question was not unreasonable. Was I complaining? I have searched all the forum, but nowhere I found a post about a good working handsfree feature. If there is anyone, who is not taking a forum-member serious, than it's you, thatruth132. If you don't have an answer, don't react. Everyone is making comments on builds, and that is what this forum all about. And say yourself, a basic handsfree-dialing possibility should be on a mobile phone. I was not slapping anyone's face.
I finally found a build, dat has the feature: mattc Leo + Froyo w/Sense 1.7][Kernel: mattc 2.6.32.9 #4, and I am very happy with it. All works fine!
And to all the other developers: I admire all your work, and please go on. Again thank you!

Running Voice GSM & the XDA - Will it Work with the XDA?

As a long time PPC user with the Audiovox RTM-8000 GSM CF modem and Running Voice GSM, I have grown to like how Running Voice GSM's 3.0.5 GUI works.
However, I recently got an XDA, and I was wondering if Running Voice GSM would run on the XDA?
Has anyone tried it ?
Or is this just plain redundant with the XDA's standard features / software?
I tried the search with no results & I didn't want to just load it up and crash the XDA...
Thanks,
JB
PS: this is THE forum for the XDA...
PSS: yes, this is the same jmbneaf in the other PPC forums....
It didnt work for me, however why dont you do a backup then try it yourself, if it doesnt uninstall properly you can always restore the backup.
Cruisin-thru,
I may give it a shot... I'll report back here afterwords; that is unless someone else posts prior results...
-JB
I tried it a few months ago, it didn't work. I emailed the company, and they answered me "not compatible with PPC Phone Edition". Anyway, if you see it on the Handango page, the notice says: "not for phone edition".
Thanks Tekflow. Sounds like a closed question to me.

Running voice gsm
If anyone still have a copy of Running voice gsm, pleeeeeese upload a copy for me. I've searched the world over at my home and the web. It no longer exist.
Thanks

Android on Touch Pro, Viable Yet?

It has been quite some time since the HTC touch pro came and since the very beginning there was talk about running android on it. I mean I remember a month after the Touch Pro came out someone had Android running on it, although it was just a proof of concept and didn't have touch or anything working.
So how has is been coming? Is Android finally a viable option for the Touch Pro?
I mean I would love to try android on my phone, as long as it works with bluetooth and the hardware buttons...that's really all I need. I can manage without wifi, speaker, etc.

Sorry I didn't know about the wiki and I did do a search for android in the ROM development forum and didn't come up with much.
But I was just wondering what kind of experiences people have had with it and wether it has been working smoothly.

A) link is broken... please fix!!
link is fine, but it seems like connect utb is down. Give them until tommorow
Can somebody help me with a weird problem?
Everything boots up just fine, but when I follow the how-to for my mobile networking my hardware keys(home, back, dial & disconnect) won't work!
Does anyone have a solution for that?
edit: it seems to be that the home and dial key are also left and the back and disconnect key are acting like a right key
thx in advance!
You asked for an opinion right?
I did try the android ports, even tried the one that's more recent but I didn't find them usable. They're too complicated and things don't work as expected. Maybe in time they will create a usable port for the touch pro but by then I will want to change my phone...I'm considering that right now too...
BUT. Some quality work has been done and it is a really cool experience. I appreciate all the work that has been put into that project.

Loudtalks

hi, i just found this software and read about it, are there any chances of a release for ANDROID or IPHONES??
this could save me hundreds, i live in [California, US] and my family lives in [Baja california, Mexico].
it is extremely expensive for me to call them in their phones, is like 50 cents per minute, is insanity, so close and yet so far.
my siblins have Iphone and Android bases mobiles devices, they have like a unlimited data plan, i use a WMO based device and unlimited data plan, i can install loudtalks but they can't because there isnt build for their OS yet, we tried skype but their conection is not strong enough is imposible to use the skype, they only have EDGE(2g), we tried loudtalks with one of their friend's wmo based device, and it did work perfect, but not everybody uses wmo, so does anybody know if there are chances for a release???
dude its already out for android ...
Code:

Hi what happen here?
People don't have questions about loudtalks?? it's the better walkie program very fast and configurable, I have a dude in android version.
I use Htc Wildfire 2.2.1 froyo rotted i mapped a button to tap to open tap to close the microphone, it's perfect but the only problem i find is this feature only runs when the app is in first plane i need to open the mic while i see a map in the same phone or while i see another think coud be all most fast jeje i try to remap a button in the stereo speackers while the phone is paired connected with stereo bluetooth speackers and the program not recognice any button but when i use the program "key test" the phone recognice one button in the stereo speackers later loudtalks recognice this button also and leave me to remap for use it for open close microphone very usefull but not runs if the program is in second plane, any idea to resolve this?? please it could be very usefull for me

[Q] Froyo Blue Tooth Voice Dialing

I have tried the search function and got buried in posts that didn't address my question. I've then scanned something like fourty screens of posts and didn't see any that were close to what I was looking for.
I know that froyo supports voice dialing over bluetooth. I also know that not every implementation of froyo supports all the froyo features.
So, before I blow $100+ on a new bluetooth headset, does the official Samsung froyo update to the T-Mobile Vibrant support voice dialing over bluetooth, using the Jawbone Era as the bluetooth headset? (I have already installed the official 2.2 update and don't plan on rooting my phone for a while.)
If this has already been answered, feel free to post "Look here moron " and add a link to the post answering the question. Then I can try to figure out how I missed it while searching.
Thanks in advance,
Fred

[Q] Neophyte needs pointers on ROM

Using Samsung Galaxy Note from Tmobile, the SGH-T879, a.k.a SGH-i717, Android version 4.0.4, Rooted
About me: I am not a developer or programmer; but, I am savvy enough to manipulate/configure Windows computers, remove malicious software and generally troubleshoot many common problems on a PC.
What I need to do: I need to record cell phone conversations at the line level (not speakerphone) and am beginning to believe that isn't possible on Android 4.0.4. Someone told me I might need a custom ROM that allows line recording. I don't understand ROM and its relation to the phone as well as I do Windows OS and its relation to the Computer; but, I want to learn so I can solve this call recording problem.
Can someone point me in the right direction for learning about this?
Sir, there are apps free from the GPlay Market for this...take a look, although you have to be rooted for some apps but you stated you are rooted.
A custom ROM is not needed.
Again, do a search via mighty Google and see any thing points you to the Market GPlay.
google voice has this built in. just press 4 while in call.

Thanks for the reply.
I have been working on this problem for two weeks+, have tried many call recording programs and had exchanges with their tech support. NONE will record from line on this phone. Their final answer is to just use speakerphone. I have had exchanges with others and found that not one has reported a successful LINE level recording with stock Android versions above 2.3.5. I have also read in forums where some were able to record but it broke when their Android versions were upgraded or they got a newer phone with a later Android version.
The recording programs offered on Google are, in my opinion, misnamed voice recorders as they record only when the phone is on speaker.
Please, is there a good place on the 'net where I can learn about ROMs?.

Thanks, but I don't use Google. I want something that runs entirely within the phone.

First read the thread linked below at least twice for help on understanding how to flash custom ROM builds etc.. Reading it twice will help make sure you grasp everything well prior to flashing your Note.
[Road & Ref Map]: Galaxy Note Super Everything Thread (I717) 9/11/2012: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1740367
Moreover, once you understand the steps needed in order to load different ROM builds etc.., below is a link to an excellent Gingerbread 2.3.6 XLA2 ROM by DAGr8 that has the line recording built in. That said, I still use it as my "go to" ROM when not trying out ICS & JB builds, due to the built in line recording, as well as the ability to enable Ad-Hoc WiFi support by switching out the wpa_supplicant file.
[ROM]XLA2[04/02] SAUROM Projekt 'One Rom to Rule Them All: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1522942
Also, if you do load SAUROM RC7 + RC7.1, search this thread link below for support in order to fix the alarm force close issue, and to add "Equalizer" from the play store to increase volume.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1525341
On a final note, deploy the xda search feature to find more tips & info...
Hope this helps a little...
Best to all,
R
Thanks so very much for the reply. This will get me started.

Hey Alex, don't thank me, d'oh! I somehow skipped right past your first OP post. If you have a Samsung Galaxy Note from T-Mobile, "the SGH-T879 model", and not the SGH-I717 model from At&t, SAUROM may not work as intended, and you should post in T-Mobile Galaxy Note section, not here. That said, I'm not sure what would be best for the T-Mobile Note as far as line recording, but you should post and search in that specific sub-forum for help.
Best to all,
R
Yes, it is the T879 and thanks for the heads-up.
I don't see a T879 or T-mobile Galaxy Note section here. Where is it?
Thanks.
It isn't here - its an altogether different forum. Just go to the main list of supported phones and find it there.
