Might I suggest you talk to the person who implemented the policy. I say that because, being the Manager of Information Systems, if you deliberately circumvented one of my policies I'll show you where, in your employment agreement, you have just committed an offense that might result in your termination...

I fully understand WHY security policy is needed, I completely disagree with HOW it is implemented. If a PIN was required to read/send e-mail, I would understand and cooperate, but locking the whole device?? my phone does lots of other stuff other than reading e-mail you know. Why do I need to type a password to make calls? To play games?
There are other ways. Ask for PIN when opening the e-mail app or when accessing the file where e-mails are stored for example.

My wife has a RAZR MAXX. Her company is transitioning their corporate email from Groupwise (I'm amazed they are still on it) to Google for Business.
They currently allow the use of BYOD for email access. She has been using Touchdown to access their Groupwise infrastructure. Before allowing access to the new email system, they are requiring the installation of Google's Device Policy App.
Is anyone here familiar with it? We're very interested in it's capabilities prior to allowing it on her phone. If we decide it's too intrusive, she will opt out of the email access.
I understand it has remote wipe, of email, or the entire system and that it can enforce a device lock timeout and PIN. Those are fairly standard.
What I'm more concerned with is the other capabilities that I've heard about. I've read where it can apparently use the camera to take pictures. It can also report on the phone's movements. Can anyone confirm this? And if so, is this something that the admins will have a console for that's supplied by Google, or is it something a third-party application is used for? Are there any indications of things such as this being activated remotely? Are there any ways to limit what it can do? Are there ways on the phone to determine what the specific active policy contains, and also receive notification if the policy was to change?
Any other info regarding this would be very much appreciated.

I don't have a lot of answers for you, and would actually like answers to a lot of the same questions.
What I do have to offer is that my school Exchange server requires me to grant it similar access. I've never had an issue related to it. It is a bit unnerving to connect to the email server for the first time and allow it to wipe the device, take photos, activate location services...
How they make use of this access? I'm not sure.
Personally, I've never heard anything about it other than the initial granting of access, and to my knowledge they have never made use of the privileges. So if they have used it, there have been no alerts to it, but I strongly doubt they have.
But at any rate, when I accepted the policy it very specifically outlined what it requests, and allows you to accept or deny. At least in the implementation I used.

I have two Google accounts that I use on my tablet. A primary one that I use for Gmail, Calendar, Contacts, etc.... and another one that I use for the sole purpose of purchasing apps. This happened due to limitations in my country so I made this other account with US data so I can buy apps with it.
This other account doesn't have any noteworthy data about me. I don't sync anything to it except apps.
So my question is. Can I share that account with other friends/family? so they can take advantages of some of the apps i purchased? Keep in mind that nobody can really purchase anything for themselves in my country (Egypt) and I went through hoops to get that one working and credit added to it, so I'm thinking about sharing this account with one or two people.
So can I do that? and if I did. Is there anything wrong with it? Are there any risks involved?

According to Apple, the Apple ID can be associated with a maximum of 10 devices, I have read somewhere, that it was the same with Google. I have seen the same Google account used on 3-4 devices without any problem. If you want to share your account with 3 more people or devices, I would say go ahead. But if the number of people or devices exceeds more than that, then I would suggest to contact Google and ask them the upper usage limit of a single account on different devices.
The first thing that came to my mind, was to be careful and not syncing your data with that account (even by mistake).
Also.. make sure you trust them, I think this is obvious
My son committed suicide in September and his phone was found near his body. He put a pin lock on his phone. I've tried two of the 5 times available to open the phone with no success. I stopped by a local phone service business who directed me to this site suggesting someone might be able to help.
Initially, I was desperate to open the phone thinking there might be a clue as to why he ended his own life. We had no idea he was considering such an act. Since then I've had second thoughts about trying to open his phone, yet, I can't help but wonder if he might have left a note on the phone.
The phone is a Samsung Galaxy S7.

Thanks for the suggestion. I started to review the full video but confess that I stopped after it appeared to assume I could log into my son's "Gmail" account which I cannot do. I reached out to Goggle and of course the won't help me log into the account. They might provide me some of the content of his emails.
At this, I have no way of accessing any email accounts with either Samsung or Google's Gmail in order to help open up the phone.
Frankly, I'll know within minutes whether there is something he left for us, his parents. If it help make anyone comfortable in helping me I could provide my son's death certificate minus social security numbers and other security risk data. I doubt you it would be useful but it's a form of proof at least that I'm not trying to break into just anyone's phone.

There is a way to remove Google Account by using twrp Recovery image for your device .
Search on the internet twrp recovery for your Model and instruction how to flash twrp recovery .
Once you install custom twrp recovery go to:
data/system/ and delete
Accounts.db
now reboot
You are done

If I go through the twrp process you describe will it leave the data that's on the phone intact? It would be nice if the phone still had access to the gmail account my son had. It sounds as if the process you recommend will disassociate the phone from his gmail account. Is that right.
Is this the only way to disable the pin lock which is all I want to do.

I have a situation involving tinder. I managed to get myself banned through their platform by using sarcastic profile details that was violation of their policy. I kind of was playing with fire here as I had continued to see fake accounts make it onto the platform, and wanted to test their security. I basically ****ed myself.
So I've contacted them and they told me that my phone number and Facebook was banned. I used new phone numbers, Facebook accounts, play store account, a VPN, even a new device to see if they were able to ban based on the MAC address of the device. I still manage to get auto banned. So I think it was because tinder communicates with Facebook automatically. I am unable to use my Facebook on the device I use with a tinder account. My question is this: is there a way to block applications from communicating with each other behind the scenes, as in a way for tinder to not be able to see that Facebook is even installed. I know there has to be a way. I'm actually more interested in learning about this way than I am with using tinder. It's quite funny, actually. :laugh:
Are there any devs that know if there's a way to edit the coding of the program and how to do it? I do recall there being an app that allows you to change the structure of an app by altering it's values such as true to false or 000 to 001 etc.
