I have replaced my desire with the streak .. wow I was worried I wouldnt like the streak or 1.6 but the streak IS A BEAST ... whats funny its also quicker than the desire when it was on 2.1 as I only got 550 on quadrant but I get 652 on the streak so its gonna be even faster when 2.2 arrives !
Question I am using the normal email system to download my emails as I have sky and live email ... I use to use the gmail system but I lilke having the emails seperate ....
Is there a widget which you can get to fit in the superb black box outline which will show me the undread emails ?? I have the email widget on my second home screen but would like an indication on the main page ... I know we have notifications but I would like something bigger
Just another quick one how can I get swype ?? I cant find a download for it for the streak and cant get on the beta cos its ended for now ...
I've been using swype since i had the streak, since last night it won't type the swyped words, obviously to do with the beta being closed, but hell, i'm missing it massively. When will it be available to buy?
I have the swype installer but it just says the beta has ended, it still types like a normal keyboard though. The swype website states the new beta is available, but i haven't recieved an email from them yet.

Works for me, but tons of bugs.
- Tiles don't size correctly on the rack
- Last tile is unselectable
- Backs out when selecting a letter for open letter tiles
- Tiles half covered on the rack by the status window
* basically, the tiles on rack are too big
Works great on my DINC though

words with friends help!!!!!!!
Can anyone tell me why i can't get "words with friends" on my x10 mini pro. It can play other games like angry birds and word feud . But it will not let me download the app . Also it say's "words with friends", only needs android( 1.6 )upwards i have (2.1) so dont know why this happening. Has anyone got any ideas??????????PLEASE HELP!!!
didn't work with my old (from ipod touch account).
made a new account and it loads, but, as mentioned above, can't see the tiles in my rack.
My girl has the G1 with stock 1.6 and I believe the makers of Words With Friends (Zynga) removed the app from 1.6 compatibility - it now requires 2.1 and above. She therefore can no longer download it from the Market.
I did find an APK via Google, but it has strange bugs (not the usual bugs with this app) such as she ends up in a game where it is me vs. me, but not her. Have tried all manner of uninstalls, reinstalls, and new WWF accounts. Must be because it is not designed for 1.6 any more.
Does anyone have access to the last well-behaved APK for Android 1.6? It used to work perfectly fine for her.
works fine on CM7, the log on screen is really really really slow, but after that works as well as any other android device, so a lot worse then the ipod version
I'm having a problem with the contact list... it imported the email address for every single person I've ever emailed from the gmail. I literally have thousands of people in the contact list now.
Anybody know how to clear that? I tried clearing data in App manager, that didn't work.
Ok, so I got my AWS dell streak (with the bands for T-Mobile 3G) and I absolutely LOVE it. Im coming from a mytouch 4g, so while I enjoy huge screen, there are some things that just dont work the same.... Im not new at all to android, but I am a staight up noob when it comes to the streak (dell products in general) I was hoping you experts could point me in the right direction.
To start the phone came with 2.2.2 out of the box. I installed clockworkmod recovery, and flashed streakdroid 1.8.1 Very stable and fast. However I cant figure out some little stuff, and im sure its easy I just dont know where to look.
1. Lockscreen is stuck in landscape. I installed adw ex to flip back and forth from my homescreen, but my lockscreen is always in landscape....is there a simple way to force it back to portrait? I dont need all the fancy unlock widget crap, just protrait lol.
2. Some games (gangstar 2) will only play on a tiny potion of my screen...If I wanted a small screen I wouldve kept my Mytouch 4G!... I tried the compadibility mode in spare parts but that didnt help.
3. Obviously some gameloft games wont work yet as said in the streakdroid thread. Is there alist of which ones work and which ones dont? Also if we install sd files ourselves instead of downloading them is there a way to "patch" them to work?" Ive seen different "packages" for different devices ex. sammy tab, nexus s, and desire will all have different sd card data.... is there one that would work with our device?
4. Notification LED app worh it? Just need some opinions, I miss the leds blinking lol.
5. Im also interested to see what settings you all use in your "install.txt" for streakdroid. Also wondering if Perfmod made your phone not as stable. Would perfmod help out performance on some games? Or not worth the trouble?

Tango and Fring front facing camera are already working, I use otterbox defender, I did not use perfmod for stability purposes, my install txt includes launcherpro, 160 for resolution and volboost

OK I am having a new "issue"
1. When I use the volboost kernel (havent tried any other yet); my phone speaker volumes are very loud and high quality. But from the 3.5 jack my music is lower in volume and sound quality...any ideas on that one?
okay well this has been happening to me quite a bit. im rooted but this happened to me even while i was unrooted. id tap on a contact's name in my inbox but it brings up someone else's conversation (like i click on my girlfriend's convo and for some reason, my mom's convo whos like 5 rows down appears) and sometimes i rush to send a text (since i read the message from the notification bar) that i dont look to see if its the right person (had to explain a very embarrassing text message that was meant for my girlfriend but actually was sent to my father ) now i started using a 3rd party messaging app instead of HTC's messaging app. well recently this started happening again and its very annoying. does anyone know what the cause of this is???

yea i saw this few days ago, but changed my mind when i read it's got ads on the inbox. Lets hope the ICS music player don't have ads, its going to be released soon on the android market

I don't see any ads in the inbox. I think it looks prettier than the CM7 messenger, however it is also slower.
Maybe it gets better with the next updates. So I deleted it again, for now.
its kinda laggy when you have more messages in your inbox...and also the go sms pro ics theme is better than this one..

I've tried everything : flashing Honeycomb, CM9, AOKP and now official 4.0.4. Never had timeline on my SGT 10.1
The facebook app looks like crap in my SGT 10.1 , I cannot use it in landscape mode because the photos in the news feed are half showed and of course no timeline.
on my SGS 2 the app is working fine : timeline, landscape and portrait are switching just fine. So please please how can I fix this?

Badger Facebook to make the a tablet version of the app. They do on iOS. The current app just wont do it, youre better off going to http://m.facebook.com in a browser for the time being.

Yes. Some idiot at Facebook decided to give the finger to Android tablet owners and remove the previous optimization. It's formatted for phones only now which it why it looks like garbage. Use the website. It works just fine.
No full screen photos in website mode, and also a little bit slow than the Facebook app. Those Facebook stupid people shouldn't breathe
I think FriendCaster looks/and is made for Tablets. It looks wonderful on my GT 10.1.

Tried all releases back to 1.7. None of them are tablet optimised. And earlier than 1.8 wont show profile pages at all.

I have this problem too. Am on PA 0.5 and it was working without any problems then one day I realized that the layout had reverted to the old version.
After various tests such as changing App dpi, clearing cache, even dalvik (?) I'm at a loss.
Looks like there is yet to be a solution for this.

If you use FB app in portrait mode it's a little better layout, but not much.
Friendcaster has an awesome UI and I like it, but it doesn't pick up all my friends' posts. Apparently if they have set their privacy settings to block 3rd party apps, Friendcaster can't recognize any of their posts.
I still go back to the browser version. I was using the regular FB page through the browser but it was SOOOOOO slow. The mobile page is much better. Maybe some day they will come out with a tablet app...
I just found FAST for Facebook. It's in Beta but impressive so far.

I've tried the 1.9.0 the 1.9.2 , today I've updated to the latest 1.9.8 Same old stupid interface.
Sadly I have minimal to zero knowledge about how to modify .apk`s but I think if we could somehow ``tell`` to the facebook app that is not running on a tablet but let's say on a galaxy nexus or s2, s3 (you name it) this should do the trick. So, how to mod facebook to ``think`` that is running on a phone not a tablet?
it is a TERRIBLE app
In my household there is a Galaxy Tab 10.1 and an ASUS Transformer Prime. The Facebook app looks just fine on the ASUS, as if it's been optimized, but I get the same result you do when using the Tab. It's REALLY frustrating, and will hopefully get resolved if enough of us pester the app maker. I've left an updated review for each iteration, and I see TONS of Tab owners complaining about the app in the reviews.
After a quick search I've found that if you change the build.prop to other tab ( or phone ) the facebook app might work. The problems are : I don't know how to that. Will this have an impact on the installed apps?.
Timelines seem to be working now. Fb must of changed the code on their end. Can only view in portrait mode really, its doesnt scale right in landscape. At least you can access peoples photos, about etc tabs now too.

A friend of mine as an Allview Tab wich is half the price of the Galaxy Tab, has an HD resolution and guess what? Facebook app is working perfect, just like on my phone, so **** *** Samsung for doing some great devices but forgets some small things like this, wich is kind of sad.
I got a GT-P3100 (Samsung Tab II ) with CM10nightly and still face this problem ...
I when I have the time I will try to change the product Id of the tab to see if it works. Anyway F*** y** Samsung.
Today, I update my FB version, and the problem continue...
