Make sure you have USB debugger enabled. It must be on for MM to take.

Also, are you applying all of the themes at once? I've always found it helps to install them one at a time. There is another setting you might want to tweak as well - the speed of the Metamorph. Slower actually usually works better. I know it seems odd since you are having issues with it hanging, but it slows down the process and goes through it a little more thoroughly, so hopefully that will allow it to complete the process correctly instead of trying to rush it and it not working right and just freezing it. It might also help if you tell us which rom and theme you are trying. It is a possibility they just aren't compatible.

my debugger is just cant figure out why my framework wont take help

dud your the man i've been trying to use mm for about 1 month the very first them i used it worked i dont know how but it did but every them after that no go.Finally it works i did what you said debugging and the speed perf... thanks again

I was having same issue. I turned usb debuggin and my theme installed fine.

Having trouble with the MetaMorph app? Check out ZipThemer, it can install multiple themes in a single reboot and provides a way to quickly revert in case you change your mind about the theme.

GB on TB

Ok so I have been looking over the forums and I hope I didn't miss it if there is a post already about this so I am going to go ahead and ask away. If it has been posted and I did miss it then I apologize for beating a dead horse.
I have tried the Liquid Gingersense (v1.4, v1.5, and v1.6) and CyanogenMod (v7.1.0-RC1.5.2 and v 7.1.0-RC1.6.1) and have not had any luck. Along with some minor esthetic issues I had with the CyanogenMod, I had noticed that the Gingersense actually disabled my radio and I was unable to make any calls and the signal bars would just show up with an "x" next to it. I rebooted many times and kind of tinkered around and tried other ways of turning it on or playing with LTE on/off to see if that would help in any way and I never did get it enabled.
When I would look at the "Quick Setting" (if I recall the name correctly), the icon for me to enable it was greyed out so clicking on it did nothing at all. Has anyone had this issue? Did I perhaps miss doing something when setting this up? Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
You mentioned that you had no signal with Gingersense but not with Cyanogenmod so I'm not sure if this is your case but did you flash the radio suggested for those roms? MR2, GB leak, etc. If not, you can find links in the pinned thread at the top of the Q/A.
Also, remember when switching between roms to wipe data/cache.
No actually I did not try that. So if I do get time to do that do I do the ROM then the radio thing? I do believe I came across a.radio deal and thought " I wonder if I need to install that?" But never tried. I figured it safer to ask and not break my phone than to break it and figure out how to fix it...lol

Ya sounds like you need to flash an Mr2 or higher radio. Check the q&a stickys for links and instructions.

Well I decided to give it another shot. I have GingerSense v1.7 installed and did the MR2 install and it all works perfectly. I have a few apps I need to reinstall and a couple icons to redo but other then that everything looks great and seems to work smooth. Thank you guys for the help. I greatly appreciate it.
Actually the only issue I am having right now is that every...I dont know maybe 5 minutes or so there is an error that pops up that Im not sure how to get rid of. It says...
"The application Google Services Framework (process com.google.process.gapps) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again"
Any ideas or thoughts about this?
Well I think I have discovered the root of this error. I have noticed that when I text and if o click on the Mic to do voice to txt that even though the screen pops up as if it OS going to record, it does absolutely nothing. How to fix it is where I am still stumped though.
Sent from my h4x0r3D ADR6400L using XDA App
Well it seems I have been noticing some weird things that are making me think maybe I should try Gingersense v1.5
At first my camera was working but Im not sure why it isnt now. I cant do pics or video and lastnight when I was trying to Skype with my cousin in CA the video cam didnt work for me. I also have been getting two different errors...
1) The process com.google.process.gapps has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.
-AND-
2) The application Talk (process com.google.android.talk) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.
I also had noticed that it seems to take a bit longer for the phone to boot in comparison to what it used to and especially when it was brand new and not yet rooted. I have a custom static image that says "HTC quietly rooted" and a WWII themed Android boot animation". When I reboot I get a black screen for about 30 seconds then the custom HTC image comes up for about 20-25 seconds then the custom animation plays THEN once that's done I'm booted into my phone.
Is there any kind of way to cut those times down for faster booting? Well I think I will have to keep messing with this and see what I can do...

[Theme] BNB for Eclipse 0.5

To begin... make a backup 1st.... not responsible for damages while left in the parking garage.. enjoy the game!
This theme was made with permission of "thebowers". It's his creation. I brought it into GB land for the X2. I don't know if I did everything he did but I can tell you that I have made image edits galore for resizing purposes and to get all the new GB images not yet themed. I have also edited the crap out of a lot of xml's so things should work 100% smoothly out of the box. I have also incorporated some inverted apps which, I had nothing to do with. Credit there goes to thebowers, ecsnead and B-Boy. I also made a few apps myself because once I got going on 0.2.2, I got carried away. Three of those apps incorporate to make the X2's first (that I know of anyway) Fully Functional and fully inverted Dialer. 0.4 had issues so, I started over at 0 and made the entire thing myself this time to make sure it all worked.
Also, I changed the boot animation. It matches the theme oh so well. Credit there goes to Versatile1 because he made it (on droidforums.net).
Before we begin, I will list all the apps I have included. For ease of use, I highly recommend getting rid of any app on the list from your phones data folder first. For example, if you downloaded Facebook from the market, remove it from your data folder. Not saying you HAVE TO, just putting it out there if you run into issues, you know how to fix them.
Also for the market... this one you do HAVE to do... First, verify that you DO NOT have a vending app in \data\app!!!!! If you do this will not install!!! You will need to uninstall updates before flashing... Settings>Applications>Manage Applications>"ALL" tab>Market>Uninstall Updates
Will it break your phone if you don't do that? No, it just won't install a market... at all!
Lastly, I have taken the time to guide every .9.png file in the framework and in every app I touched. What this means to you.... If you want to make other changes, everything will decompile and recompile without error. Of course you need to add the dependencies if your editing systemui or settings but thats a blur thing. Not something I did.
Now.. onto the part anyone actually cares about..
The theme is located at the bottom of the deepest cave, surrounded by guardian flying pigs who crave bacon and eggs.
Ive also included a BNB style Icon Pack because, if you are crafty enough to figure out how to install them, I'm crafy enough to share them It's not a huge list, it just covers the basic ones most people stick on the main homescreen.
You can get that here.. but you have to go through the cave first.
If you see any issues please let me know.
Heres the cool list that got into the party....
Framework
SystemUI
Calculator (everyones favorite)
Contacts (Inverted)
Dialer (Inverted)
Phone (Inverted)
Facebook (Inverted)
Gallery 3D
Gmail (Inverted)
Google Quick Search (Inverted)
Keyboard (Black) .. whichever one is in 0.5.. hard to keep up...lol
Gtalk (Inverted)
Market (Inverted)
Google Voice (Inverted)
Music (Black) ##This is NOT the music app that came with Eclipse and it will erase that one##
Notes:
Music app worked on my phone without skips or pops when multitasking.. hope yours does the same.
Battery icons are stock Eclipse.. 200 images to make from scratch takes time.
Settings (Manage Applications is white BG with Black text).. will fix that when I figure it out.
This theme is basically a complete inversion of stock (with different images too). It is dark. On the D1, it was a bit hard to see but with this glare resistant screen or the display quality or something, its quite easy. Plus is doesnt burn your eyeballs when using the phone in the dark.
The screens are from 0.4.... the unselected tabs in the screens now have black text
SCREENSHOTS
Lastly... if you like what I do.. hit the thanks button please. If you have issues, questions, trouble installing, suggestions for a new app to invert.. POST UP!!
I like it cannibal pigs lmao ;-)

My phone is stuck on installing update with this zip. I will have to do a battery pull in order to recover. I tried again and same thing this isn't installing properly or even coming close.
I will need some confirmation from someone else to see if they can or cannot instal it. In the meantime, I will reinstall Eclipse 0.5, download the file from the internet like everyone else has to, and, try installing it on my phone. Give me a few for the results.
Yeah I don't know man. Worked fine for me.
Tell me exactly how you are going about installing it. I will troubleshoot it with you.
I have .5 eclipse installed i reboot into recovery and flash zip from sd card it hangs on installing. Everytime I have tried it gives me the same thing. I haven't had any problems with any other themes either.
I installed fine had to dl twice the first was a "bad" zip but the second dl was fine

Ok I can't purchase anything from market replaced the black one with a regular version from xda and still no go not sure if its theme or rom
Sent from my DROID X2 using xda premium
My understanding on that issue is the stock one is jacked up in that way as well. I have heard (but not tried) that there is a .dex file you can install and all will be well. It has something to do with the signature of the app and it not agreeing with Google purchasing market thing whatever it it is.
wdenker.. maybe try downloading the file again like xheavy did. You could have just gotten a bad d/l. I have this on XDA and DF and no ones having the issue. Also, did you try using this theme on 0.4 or 2.2?
Currently updating this theme some more. Nothing has been posted by me yet but.. I have settings now fully inverted no matter what you click on.. i.e. "Manage Applications". I am about 50% done theming Go Launcher, I have the power widget on status away from green and, lastly, (for now anyway), I will be making new battery images.
Also, I plan on pulling all of my apps and redoing their icons to match. If you have request for app shortcut icons, please let me know.
Thanks for the info bro but after searching I haven't been able to find anything. Would you be able to point me in the direction of that .dex file or thread that contains it? Lol I hate the search function on the xda app lol I miss my poor dr pepper soaked laptop lmfao
Sent from my DROID X2 using xda premium
I asked about it... heres the info I got from a buddy,,, (the user names mentioned, except for the obvious are on DF)
there's no real fix... the certs files are an issue I think.. even the stock version is giving that error on some roms.. and my market works on most but some roms have the error.. bgill and BIGxie are both trying to figure it out also.. there's a user on XDA rujelus (I think) that has an inverted market also and his zip file worked on one of my roms that hadn't previously but then when I tried his again during testing, it wouldn't work anymore...
Ive themed every market since probably October of 2010. Best I can do is go backwards till one works, if any.. if you want.
Damn didn't even know there was this kind of problem lol its all good man it'll just force me to save money lmao
Sent from my DROID X2 using xda premium
Don't feel bad. I didn't either til I started working on an orange theme and went to the market to buy a theme to see what orange would look like. FC and WTF! Checked around, apparently its hit or miss and no one can figure it out. Works on some ROMs, doesnt on others.
update
Was just going to update to v0.5 but I'll wait for your next release since i read your doing alot to it. I hope its not like first one was on my bad phone just kidding my old phone was just messed up read about a guy sending 7 DX2s back

For people having trouble temp-rooting

Ok this might be stupid and maybe not even worth it's own thread, but I know I'd have been very glad to have this little tip that has worked very consistently for me...
Kill all running tasks!
I had tried both temp-root packages and was having really bad luck getting it to work. Sometimes I would have to reboot and try 10 times to get it to take. Then I thought about what someone said (it was either Joel or Nils) about why we are losing root even without a reboot, he said that SU was force closing. It occurred to me that maybe it's not crashing, so much as it's being closed, maybe because the Rezound seems to be very agressive about auto-starting junk apps... maybe it sees SU as lower priority and kills it to make room in the RAM for other apps we could care less about.
With that in mind, I figured I would kill EVERYTHING before running the temp root. This has now worked for me five times in a row, where I get temp root on the first shot. It doesn't make root last any longer... I still lose root without a reboot, but it's better than having to reboot numerous times to get temp root back again.
Also, now that we know we can freeze apps with titanium (which I'm about to do), maybe if we freeze enough bloat apps the phone won't kill SU so easily?
Hope this helps someone...
By the way, when I say kill everything, I mean even system apps, everything. I just System Panel, I hit End All and select all five levels of task killing up to System Apps...
Can't wait to give this a try. Thanks!
Update: didn't help. But thanks anyway.

+thanks. I will give that a try when I pick the phone up on Wednesday.
Where do u find system panel and these five stages?
I'm living on a yellow submarine
system panel is in the market, but I imagine almost any task manager would work fine, main thing is you want it to kill EVERYTHING possible, even Sense. System panel leaves only about 10 things running, things that can't be killed. The idea is to free up as much RAM as possible to keep the phone from killing SU as soon as it's installed. This has now worked almost ten times in a row for me... it hasn't failed once since I started doing this.
Great job this helped a lot!
Another thing that helped me, is using "HTC Sync" instead of charge only.
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using XDA App
this sure helped me! I have been failing for two days now. THANKS!
a little note, if you leave system panel, sense will kick back on, so run the exploit after killing all the process, but do not exit out of the system panel
Don't Run As Administrator. Only Way It Works For Me.
FYI all, I don't out the phone in HTC Sync mode, and while I do run as administrator on my Vista machine, the laptop I use at work is xp and I don't do run as admin there. It also didn't matter if I let Sense restart after running the exploit. So I didn't find any of that extra stuff necessary. It has worked every time over a dozen times now since I started killing all apps before running it.
Cool, might of worked for you, but it didn't for me... I had to turn on HTC sync.
This thread seems to be about what has worked for people that couldn't root normally... Just adding what I had to do, as it might help someone else...
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using XDA App
Holy crap dude you're a genius. Worked for right out of the gate! I was only able to get root once before, this worked without flaw first time. You rock!
Killing everything helped get root, but Sense would shut down my superuser within 5 minutes. I dusted off Launcher Pro, and now my root is staying in place, so far, over two hours. Thanks for the advice man!
I'm glad this seems to be working for everyone. I have not had one failed root attempt since doing this, probably 20+ times now. But yeah root doesn't tend to stick long. it was long enough to freeze all the bloatware and make a good titanium backup, so I'm happy
This worked perfectly for me finally. I attempted the normal temp root methods and it never seemed to work. Killing everything first did work. I rem'd out the SU install and pre-loaded SU from the market then ran the batch.
I was able to freeze bloatware, and restore my favorite apps from my Dinc. Happy dance.
The only :? was that on my last app just after it finished restoring my Phone rebooted most ungracefully but everything I had done was preserved. The phone only rebooted once and I can find nothing wrong with it so I am accepting that as a "oh well".
So thanks for this extra post explaining the Kill All method. I appreciate it greatly.
This also worked wonders for me. Just got done freezing bloatware, and let me tell you, this thing absolutely soars after freezing. I've noticed it taking significantly less time to launch apps and even switching from portrait to landscape seems to be quicker. I can't even imagine the speed we will achieve once we have some roms to work with.
Rock on devs, this thing is worth it.

Here is an idea, can someone make a temp root that will run from the phone so that it can be done from anywhere and not tied to a computer

I tried making one but the phone won't allow the exploit to be copied to the phone via a shell script or terminal emulator. ADB somehow circumvents that.

[Q] Themer crashing phone

I've been using the Themer beta since the actual limited beta release. For the past 2 weeks I've been running into an issue, and was wondering if anyone else has had the problem. Just to start off, I'm running a Samsung Note 2, rooted on official firmware. Lately whenever I add a theme to export from the themer friendly themes from mycolorscreen.com and load it up, it would crash my phone and causes a weird boot loop. It would restart my phone and go through all the boot screens, 10-15 seconds in to loading up themer it restarts again and goes through the same cycle. The only way for me to get out of this is to quickly go into settings and reset the homescreen to another launcher. Every theme from the actual themer app runs fine, and all of my personally made themes load fine as well. I have deleted the themer app and reinstalled it and I'm still running into the same issue. I've been sending all the crash reports. The last 2 themes I downloaded were RND UX and Flards 2 from mycolorscreen.com. They would load up for about 20 seconds and then my phone would crash and go through the boot loop.
Anyone have any solutions or insight into this problem? I consider myself pretty tech savy, and I'm comfortable getting my hands dirty using Zooper and UCCW, so I know
would sundryo
my themer also crashes since 4.4.2
but i don't have bootloops..

Hi there,
Unfortunately because your device is rooted, there's not much we can do on our side, as we test Themer on non-rooted devices. Sorry about that.
So you think it might be the root access that is causing the issues? That's unfortunate, I need the root access so I can use my external SD to do the heavy lifting for my storage (stupid Samsung using almost 5gb of my 16gb for their shovelware apps...) Any chance themer will be optimized for rooted devices next, since a lot of people with androids like to load alternative ROMs. I'm willing to be a guinea pig. I guess I'm already a guinea pig now since I'm using the beta. But in the mean time it's back to lighting launcher for me.

Are you sure your resolution matches the Themer .zip file? We've now implemented a new sorting feature whereby you can filter the themes according to your phone's resolution. Any theme that doesn't meet your resolution won't work, and might be causing this issue, else the uploader might have made an error.

Amazing yes I did check. Most of the themes I have been exporting have been the same resolution on my phone. One of the themes (ultra-minimal 3, sorry I can't post links since I have posted a lot yet.) the author said it was designed on a Note 2, that one just recently crashed my phone and caused a bootloop. I do a lot of theme changing, especially when I working on my own theme. Could it be that. Maybe I'm just bogging the system down. When I'm working on my theme, I save, export back, work on it, save, repeat... alot. (Unless that problem has been fixed) I'm paranoid I would lose my progress.
btw, thanks for your replies.

It might also be an internal bug within Themer. Try this:
-Uninstall Themer
-Delete the /MyColorscreen folder make sure your backup any of your work if you have any in this folder
-Delete the /android/data/com.mycolorscreen.themer folder.
-Reinstall Themer.
Then try again and see if the problem resolves itself, if not let us know.

It's been 2 days since I did what you told me, and no crashing, and no bootloops. It could also be a coincidence, but there was an update for themer yesterday. Either way, it looks like I'm finally in the clear. Thank you very much.

[Q] Experiencing very specific force closes.... possible causes/solutions? Any ideas?

I have been experiencing a series of force closes. I am posting this to see if anyone else has experienced this, and whether anyone can suggest a fix. I'm pretty sure it was something I did, but I'm not sure what. I'm hoping that this can maybe narrow it down.
Device: SM-N900P
Firmware: OC5, stock, rooted, with several tweaks and modifications(detailed below).
The problem: I am getting several force closes. They only occur when I am trying to open certain settings. So, they aren't just popping up at random. They are slightly troubling, but not really problematic. Which is to say, aside from the actual force closes themselves, I don't really seem to be experiencing any major problems. Here are the FC's I am experiencing:
-Menu> Settings> General> Battery: This one results in a "Unfortunately, Settings has stopped" dialog box, and an immediate return to my home screen. So, I can't check out my battery usage. I'm not seeing any crazy battery drain. By opening Root Explorer and navigating to data> system> batterystats.bin, and deleting batterystats.bin, the problem is kind of fixed- I can open battery from the settings menu after that. But there is only battery level and state displayed, no usage information(just a message saying it is not available).
-Menu> Settings> General> Developer options> Process Stats: Results in the same dialog box, and the background turns black if I don't press "OK". I'm not even sure what this does, but after my Battery started force closing, I started checking the rest of the settings out.
-Menu> Settings> Connections> Data usage: Dialog box, immediate return to home screen.
The probable cause: hard to say, I've done a few things to it. Like I said, I was hoping that someone would be able to figure out what I've done from the following information about what I have done so far. So, here goes.
I was on NK4, running Priest Punch ROM. I reverted to stock and took the OTA about a week or so ago. I immediately rooted and installed TWRP using the method in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-3-sprint/general/how-to-root-note-3-lollipop-t3089382 .
After rooting, I didn't see a whole lot of OC5 development, so I started poking around to see what kinds of mods I could use. First thing I wanted to do was remove bloat. I started off using Root Explorer, then I happened upon this thread featuring a bloatware removal tool for the T-Mobile variant: http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-3-tmobile/development/tool-utility-sgn3-sm-n900x-bloat-t2813036 . It worked. I removed a bunch of apps, but nothing I wasn't sure I could safely remove(I had to check Google a few times). I did not notice any problems at this time.
Then I installed this mod to pump sound out of both speakers: http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-3-sprint/development/mod-sm-n900p-surround-sound-t2966042 . I did not notice any problems at this time.
Next, I decided I wanted more fonts, so uninstalled the preloaded fonts and pushed the apk from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2752379 . Again, no problems.
I decided that a working hotspot would be nice, so I used the method in this thread to get one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4-sprint/general/lollipop-hotspot-root-flashing-t3048163 . I tested it and it worked. No problems.
I really wanted to silence my shutter sound, and I happened upon this Galaxy S4 thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2261789 . It worked, and there were no issues. This was my first exposure to csc codes. I found a similar thread for the s6( http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s6-edge/general/quick-guide-enabling-hidden-features-t3087506 ), and followed the instructions. I was able to enable the camera during calls and enable call recording. No problems here. I tried a keyboard mod from the same thread, which had no effect at all(good or bad), so I reverted the code for that one back.
This is when I think I started to go off the rails a bit. I saw a thread for the Polish variant of the Note 3, N9005. http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...camera-mod-note-3-n9005-lollipop-5-0-t3067827 -it had a neat sounding mod designed to improve camera quality, remove recording time and snapshot restrictions, and make 60fps HD the default camcorder mode. It took a little trial and error to get it installed, but I was making backups of files I was messing with, and was able to quickly and easily reverse any missteps. Again, the mod works fine, and I have noticed no issues. So, I started looking at the dev's other work. Which led me to this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-3/themes-apps/secsettings-mod-17-swipe-charging-t3046032 . I wanted some different unlock effects, and I wasn't really finding them, so I tried his mod out. It was a 3 step process: replace a SecSettings app, copy paste some .ogg files, and finally, copy paste a SustemUI .apk. The first two steps went fine, but the third resulted in a persisitent, repetitive dialog box. I forget what this dialog box said, but it popped up almost as soon as I could press "OK", and I had to restore the backup of SystemUI to make it usable again. Oddly enough, about half of the new unlock animations still worked fine, and I wasn't seeing any problems after that, so I left everything else there. I liked the unlock animations, and they didn't seem to be causing any problems after I restored the original systemUi .apk.
Let's see, what else might be relevant? I was using the built-in task killer quite a bit. I'm also using SetCPU. I have 2 profiles: Screen on, 1728 MHz max, 300 MHz min, governor ondemand. And Screen off, 1036 MHz max, 300 MHz min, governor interactive. And I have installed the Material Power Menu from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/app-materialpowermenu-reveal-animations-t3059169 .
I started to notice the battery FC last bight. So, I wiped the battery stats as outlined above. Noticed it again today, wiped stats again, and kept checking it. After about an hour, it was force closing again. That's when I started poking around and found the others.
I dunno if anything can be done about this, or if anyone might know what's wrong. And, like I said, Aside from these FC's I'm not experiencing any real problems. I'm a little worried that they may get worse, or turn into something more serious, but I can always restore a backup if that happens. But if there is some kind of fix for these issues, I would use it. Thanks in advance to anyone who takes the time to read this wall of text, and tale of irresponsible phonery.
These are all settings that monitor usage.... should that tell me anything? I have tried wiping cache and dalvik, but that only seems to fix battery usage and data usage very temporarily(like, for a minute or less). And it doesn't seem to have effect on Process Stats.
My thoughts:
Seeing as you have flashed a lot of mods, it could be anything. If it were me, I'd start the rom from scratch. Then for the first step, instead of removing apps, I'd freeze them with titanium backup and give that a day or two to check the stability.
If that works, I'd continue with the mods one by one, giving a day or so for stability checks.
If you'd rather not do all that, you could use a logcat to find the origin of the problems.

I'd probably try the logcat first. One, because I hate doing stuff over, and two, Ive neber done it before and it should be a learning experience. Is it complicated? I'm assuming there is a thread here on xda about it...

It's fairly straight forward. I did one to see why an app wasn't loading, didn't need instructions. But that was a fairly simple check, yours sounds more complicated. I'd do a bit of reading on it.

Will do. Thanks for your help!
Okay well I decided to re flash OC5 and start from scratch.
I took it back to stock and re rooted. Am now debloating....no isssues yet.
I have flashed everything except the Polish camera mod and the wallpapers. Having zero issues of any kind. I know it can take difficulties some time to manifest themselves, but I'm betting it is either the lock screen animations or the camera mod. Leaning towards the lock screen animations because it involves messing with system.ui...
Okay, made a new backup and flashed the camera mod. No issues. After every mod, I have been going back and checking for issues. This is all stil pretty new, but if everything is still fine after a couple of days, well, I will be convinced that it was the lock rings. Not surprising obviously that flashing stuff meant for foreign variants can wreck your sh*t, lol.
