Warez is not something that is promoted nor condoned here on XDA!?
If we stop supporting Android developers there is no way we will stop the ever growing success of Apple!

He is correct, (a better place to ask would've been Android General and Hacking , and i think a mod may move this into the trash very soon )

1. It shouldn't be asked, XDA is against warez
2. No, you can't.
what do you mean by modding the market app? Mod it to do what?

Forum Rules, please read
Thread closed due to warez discussion, and no, you can't do it, as the market can tell from its database.

Netflix - Fooling the Device Check

There is a hack going around that I have been playing around with that unfortunetly I have not been able to get working. It is an edit for the Build.Prop file in \system. (this does require a root and some sort of root explorer) (I've tried some of the other "hacked" APK's, but I can't deal with crappy video)
Take a quick look at this article on Reddit:
http://www.reddit.com/r/Android/comments/ha5oh/root_how_to_edit_your_buildprop_to_make_netflix/
After looking at that for a while I started tooling around.
Changes I made :
ro.product.model=Nexus S (Replacing MB860)
ro.product.model.internal=Nexus S (Replacing MB860)
ro.product.manufacturer=samsung (Replacing motorola)
So basically, this is supposed to fool the device check by making the application think you are using an accepted device. Like I said I haven't been able to get it to work. If anyone can see any other changes to make, any input would be appreciated. Hopefully we can get this working and share it with the community, until Netflix decided to come to their senses.
I've attached the Official Netflix app if anyone needs it
Already a working app..
Someone already posted a APK that bypasses the check.. there are video issues with colors, but that is the Atrix screen not the App...
also i'm pretty sure root explorer is a paid app, so posting that here violates terms and conditions

How is it the screen? (not arguing, I just don't know)
I was hoping that this might just fix that problem

It something to do with either hardware acceleration of how the app handles teh qHD screen. the Watch ESPN app does thes same thing.
also this method is not a good idea when compared to using the modified APK, because you are editing your actual system files through this way. and as said before this has been discussed and a different way found already on this forum.

The Atrix has a higher resolution screen than every other android phone currently available. An app, especially a graphically intensive video app, has to be designed to scale up to this resolution. Not to say it can't work, just doesn't yet.
Sent from my MB860 using XDA Premium App
what can I use to modify the apk? I have the modified apk already, but I want to take a look

if you don't already know how to modify APKs, then you're in over your head.

Thanks downloading right now
I had success getting Netflix to work on Viewsonic G-Tablet running CM 7.0.3.
I used the instructions posted by natemckn at reddit. As a noob, I'm not able to post links to the XDA forum (yet), so you'll need to search for the instructions on reddit or google. The post is titled "[ROOT] How to edit your build.prop to make Netflix work on unsupported devices."
Specifically, I modified these two lines in build.prop:
ro.product.model=HTC Vision
ro.product.manufacturer=HTC
Also, I moved NetFlix to my external SD card.
Rebooted, everything works like a champ.

It's not that it's just that some of the apps which are free on other devices, like android are not on wp7? I think it's a joke, i mean who's putting the prices on?
I think if you register as a dev then you can push apps using the development tool but then they know who you are as they have your windows live ID and everything attached to it.
Don't think i'll be doing any of that in a hurry.

APK Leecher

APK Leecher, fully legal... Works very good, awesome speeds, great for creating a collection of apps we use daily, EASE OF CHANGING ROMS, no fear of apps getting lost...
And don't report it... already asked an admin... here's the reply...
You recently reported a post entitled [TOOL] Real APK Leecher - Download apk from your PC by whisky_x in the Android Software Development forum. The moderator assigned to address your issue has made the following comment:

Hi sidkota,
The app only downloads free apps from the Play Store - it doesn't bypass payments so it's not doing anything illegal.
Thanks for the report.

Ya... Loved it myself!

A way to check if any app has exploited 'Exynos Mem Bug'

First, I just finished reading 50 pages of Chainfire's thread and my eyes have had it. So I have tried to find the answer myself. I'm also posting it here as the hacking thread says "no noobs" so if this isn't the place, please move it for me.
I simply want to know, in lieu of the fact that a lot of apps got updated like crazy after this bug was discovered, I'm thinking that these fixes might be a waste of time for a lot of us as we may have been comprimised already and simply checking SuperSU won't help (apparently).
So my question is, is there a way to 'scan' to see if any app is using the exploit? If not what can be done? ie. remove all apps and reset phone and leave it bare, and change all email passwords etc, until Samsung fixes this huge problem?
Thanks
perhaps some antivirus apps will check this vulnerability soon

You misunderstood, I already know I'm affected. I'm looking for a way to see if any playstore apps have taken advantage of the exploit. I already have Chainfire's fix installed. I'm worried that somebody has already used the expoit. All my apps are from playstore but that doesn't convince me that all playstore devs are "ok". So I want to know if there's a way to see if any app I had already installed before I installed Chainfire's fix is/was taking advantage of the exploit.
Thanks

googless lineage

as much as I love NOS, I hate google even more
anyone tried this?
any impressions?
Yeah it is microg. Block google from stealing your data and provide some more battery(in theory). It is a known thing.

yeah, but this one is integrated into rom (lineage 14.1) <> should save same hassle making it work.....?
does it work, deserves a chance to abandon "legacy" NOS, anybody tried?
kenzo is "officially" supported :fingers-crossed:
I just figured out that they make builds for every device seperatly with built in microg. You can easily deodex the offical rom and apply signature spoofing patch but this seems also quite nice to me.
Thanks for this share.
What is microg? And what's the function? ?

f*ck google > they became as fascistic as apple
Heres what I hate.
I hate that I can not check and disassociate my frickin ebay app from remembering nightmares that a violated equifax credit report had to delete by the seven years law, as it automatically sussed from my device who I am somehow.
And Google, despite my having to permit them to funk every orifice my phone gots, doesn't easily show me a way to block ebay's violation of my privacy via the microsoft account that is somehow linked to the google account.
And whats more I dont wanna have to permit sms sending for the play services.
I hate the equifax certs. I hate the other certs from ssn thieves.
