So everyone knows about the leaked froyo rom for the vibrant, and I'm sure it's a just a matter of time now until one of the great devs ports it to the vibrant, but I was wondering if it was possible to flash the captivate rom to a vibrant without bricking? I know it would change the baseband and radio so I suppose the answer is yes, thanks for any help in advance.

I would not tempt fate--let one of our esteemed devs do their magic...seems like trying to run a Honda Accord powerplant in a Honda CRV. There is a reason there are different programs/roms/etc. for different phones.

If you don't see now and then apps or mods floating around with people conveting one thing to another what makes you think its going to work right out of the box? Even if it doesn't brick your phone its not going to work 100% anyways.

I'm aware that there are TONS of Gingerbread roms. But the thing that has been keeping me back from flashing is that GPS is broken. Does anyone know of any ROM that has working GPS in GB??
If there was a working GPS for TB,all but the CM7 builds would have GPS in the list of working features.

Without working GPS drivers for GB, this will never happen. Eugene claims to have done it, but he's disassociated himself with XDA. Personally I've never seen any proof of that claim.

Yup Neither have I........... GB is missing the drivers the wierd thing is the map still works though move by move gps does not.........

Ugh, he never claimed tohave. He he talked about a method to get it working. Someone jumped the gun and assumed he had it working.....

I hear you, if the GPS isn't working, never mind. Is there any other roms that are really nice for the SGH-T959?
I like the rotation of the icons on the G2, I would like to add that feature to my SGH-T959.
I am also waiting for GPS working on Gingerbread. However, I might try CM7 this week. If map is working, it still can take me to the destination.

I got impatient and installed CM7. It's very nice. I think I'll have to do without maps.

You didn't have to point it out AGAIN that I was wrong, especially when someone posted the actual reply link showing where he said he got it working.
If you're going to tell someone that someone else said a specific thing, don't just tell them, show them. Because telling them doesn't do anything.

No doesn't work in CM7 either
Until we have a gingerbread leak or an ota for the vibrant, GPS will not work. It doesn't work on any 2.3 rom that runs on the vibrant.

I have a same question, I could not find out the stock rom in Vibrant Bible, the build name is T959UVKB5, anyone help me!
Yeah stay away from Kies, hard bricked me, had to riff box recover.
I was looking for stock 2.2 recently too, hard to find most links didn't work.
Is there any specific reason you need stock? Most 2.2 roms now are plenty stable.

I just came from trigger cm7 14. Didnt like the battery drain and missed my GPS and wifi calling.
I LOVE the blazers! I live in Vanc and work in Portland. You think Oden will do well? Either way im glad rudy is gone

Here is a themed version of Wireless Tether for anyone who uses it or wants to use it. The app is a free app so I didn't think it would be a problem to post it here for everyone to grab if they want it.
For those that don't know wireless tether is the best (In my opinion) for getting unlimited wife tethering from your phone to your computers either over wifi or bluetooth. YOU MUST HAVE ROOT for this app to work. I changed nothing to the functionality of the app, only to the apperance and have successfully tested on my Photon.
Wife tethering huh..... not a big fan of sharing my wife.

Does it work we have rooted droid x and gingerbread ? I had gingerbread at 1 time and none of the tethering app work reliably. I had to go back to froyo on my droid x and root to get a wireless tether to work properly. I sure would like to go back to gingerbread.

I've used it on multiple sprint android phones with 2.3 and had no problems. Its with a shot.

I am on verizon And used wireless tether before. It would work, it would that work. I kept getting re directed to verizon data plan pay now page.

Def. give me a little time. We are busier then normal today at work so I haven't had time to do anything at all today lol. But I will post one up.
I'll give this a run on my device, the MT4G (MyTouch 4G) running the latest MIUI.
Though I can do this normally I would like to give this a go so that others know it works. Thanks for the work put into this and hopefully others get involved in the freedom.
