Z4root

I have used z4root and got root access. I wanted to know if I need to keep z4root installed or if I can remove it.

Once you gain root I'm sure you can delete it. And for future reference you may want to post questions in the general section to avoid getting flamed. Happy flashing :-D

Thanks I hope to hear some more responses, as I want to be 100% sure.
Yes you can delete it once you are rooted. I've used Z4root several times now and have removed the app every time.

You can delete it if you want but it isnt in the Market anymore. Google told those guys (also Ryans OCLF dont have the root part in it any longer) take them down.
But you can get the .apk HERE or HERE
I also found the update.zip root on the cyanogenmod wiki web site under vibrant. So if u ever need to reroot and can't find anything u can use that method.

That will only work with the 2e and modified 3e recovery, but not the real 3e. You will need the Super One Click root application for that.

Hi! I'm new here!
On my galaxy s2 in recovery mode I don't see "Install zip from sdcard" for example. Or "Backup and restore"
What can I do?

Ah that's why. Please read the rolled up sticky thread in this forum on how to safely root your phone. Then you can start loading custom ROM's on to it. DON'T rush take your time, read carefully and follow the instructions exactly. There are lots of benefits to being careful and patient and expensive mistakes if you rush into this. All the best and happy flashing.

Thank you again!

Thanks for posting this man.
I am trying to figure out how to use this backup file.
I can't get past setup wizard after a hard reset. I get the application lgsetupwizard process com.android.lgsetupwizard has stopped unexpectedly error.
Thank You for posting. This should be moved under Original Android Development sub-forum.
Do you know how to use it?
I can't access any apps on my phone. Can only open setting. I am having problem pushing those .apk to system folder from PC end. Phone is already rooted and has root explorer on it but can't access the app

Search for creepyncrawly username, read all his signature links and you're good to go.

You will need to read and learn before you act. This phone is configured differently than what you are accustomed to, judging from your statement above. You won't install recovery separately on this phone, since it is built into the kernel, for instance. Most roms have flashing instructions in the OP.
Ok. Im rooted... I unlcoked it for Tmobile. and its now on 2.3.4. When i go to recovery it juts says android recovery. Im not sure if its Clockwork mod, because i havent used clockwork since the days of the Moto backflip. SO how would i go about getting Clockworkmod and then installing Slimbean.

You have been told a few times in this thread to read before acting. You are headed right on down the 'I messed up my phone' path.

The clear answer has already been given to you. Search for username creepyncrawly, read all the threads linked in his signature. You need to be patient, read and research for several days before attempting to flash anything. It was reckless and foolish to root before doing so.
