Can you try to use the search now option? I just tried it on my phone and it works fine. Also, check to make sure Network mode is set to GSM/WCDMA (AUTO MODE)
Additionally, go to settings manage applications. select menu button >> Filter >> Show all >> Call settings and select clear data.

Do you have access to a tmobile post paid sim, if so give it a try. I am not sure why it will not let u connect to the network, unless tmobile had you blocked somehow.

Had the same problem and this worked for me. Well, not exactly. Did the Setteings>Wireless and Network>Mobile Networks> Network Operators and pushed the "Select automatically" option instead. Post put me on the right track though. Thanks

I had this same issue. It was finally fixed with a new sim card. TMobile stated that there is a new sim card that fixes issues due to their new 3g+(4g) network. The sim would work fine on my older BB but wouldnt work on my Vibrant. They replaced the sim for free at the T-Mobile store and I have been fine since. I hope thats your same issue.

[Q] Strange Vibrant Issue

High all. I just purchased a Vibrant today that was brand new in the box and had never been turned on. The first thing I did was unlock it to work with AT&T. Everything works including 3G, however whenever I try to select any option in wireless settings I get this message "Unable to change networks during data service activation. Do you want to disconnect the data service and change available network?"
Does anyone know what caused this and how to fix it?
Did it ever connect to a tmobile network or did you put in the att sim right away?

I put the att sim in right away as I dont know anyone with tmobile. There must be a way around it. Like in one of those hiden menus.
Its just a notification that its stopping data to find a new source. Mine does that when I switch it to "2g only". Its ok, idata will turn back on after a few moments
^^ yep, i get the same message when i toggle between 2g/3g. not a problem at all.
Ok thanks for the reply guys.

Vibrant Radio tower problem?

Aite Ive got two samsung vibrants. Bought them both new. Did the exact same thing on both to unlock them and make em work on AT&T.
One works perfect. The other one just says No service no matter what i do. I tried selecting the network manually but it says sim card doesnt support the network.
Next I tried the odin method to put the stock firmware back on. Rooted. Since my unlock codes werent present on my phone, i used the repair_nv_data fix to try and manually set the unlock code(what i did for the other vibrant), but still no luck. Still says no service when i put the sim in. Weird thing is data kinda works. It says no service but the 3G/EDGE icon keeps popping up and disappearing.
Any suggestions?
Search xda for "enabling the 850 band", id look but search is crap on the xda app. Its my understanding that it works better off of at&t towers with that enabled. Hope this helps.

Network: Airtel
Signal Stregnth: -93dBm 10 asu
Mobile network type: EDGE
Service state: Out of service
Romaing: Not roaming

Really need help
Anyone found a solution for this?
I'm having the exact same problem, except I've had my phone for almost a year and just now got this problem. I can use data to browse, twitter, whatever; but can't make any calls. I tried my SIM card on another Vibrant and it works fine; tried another SIM on mine and still get "No Service". Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Vibrant no service issue

K so i got a vibrant. Its got the right product code, wrong imei(some fake 0049 thing) and when i unlocked it, it said network unlock successful. So everything shouldve been fine.
But everytime i turn it on, i just get 'no service'. It auto updates time and date and everything. and data works. But it just says no service so i cant make calls or texts.
Anyone got any ideas? I restored to factory multiple times. Odined back to stock firmware. Tried everything but no luck
This is the first thing I would try . Go to settings , wireless and network , mobile network settings then click network operators it'll search for a network and try to register to the network .

Did that a bunch of times. It just keeps saying your sim card doesnt allow a connection to this network. I tried a legit att sim card as well as a t-mobile one
Make sure you are in an area with good reception . When I lost data this is what did the fix for me . It didnt work first try either so keep searching it will eventually register the network .

Yea man ive been trying everything possible. Flashed like 10 different roms. Used different techniques to mess around with the nv_data.bin files. No luck
I don't think the fake IMEI would be the issue. I had the same fake number after I flashed a new ROM from stock - I could still make calls, etc.
But if you want to restore your nv_data.bin, you can pull it from a saved stock backup, make it the only thing in efs and reboot. If you don't think you have a backup stock, try looking for a file on the sdcard called ProductCodeCheck. It may also be under SGS Tools.

[Q] Not being able to get my data to work on my s4 SPH-L720

Hi guys,
This is my first post here, sorry if i make any mistakes with my english also.
Yesterday i bought an S4 SPH-L720, the Internet was working ok in 3g, (btw i live in Dominican republic and my carrier is Orange). i Decided to use the option to factory reset it , after that the phone just reads my sim card, but the Data does not work, i try to go to the mobile networks options, but the option to add the APN is not there, also the roaming network option is only in gray, just allowing me to change the settings or the guards. Wifi works fine, but if i turn it off so my sim tries to get the mobile data i get an error saying this: unable to establish a wireless data connection: lte : ESM - 33 EMM - x.
What should i do??
Please help me out with this.

Hi, i tried to do it as you suggested, the phone booted twice, gave me msg that it will reactivate, last thing that happens on second boot is a message saying that the firmware update is not available, then the network changed to CDMA, and it gives me the option to change the roaming network, but when i hit GSM, that option goes back to its gray state, also since that i get the message: Invalid sim Card, so that is not working now, and the data still doesnt work, any other advice?

hey, I have the same problem but my SIM works, have WIFI and I am in 4.3. Where you able to fix the "unable to establish a wireless data connection: lte : ESM - 33 EMM - x."???
This is an apn issue. Call orange (the provider) and ask for your apn settings

Go to settings / about / status / sim card status / sim card status and check of you are running LTA.
If not go to general management / reset / reset network settings. This fixed my problem.

Data Roaming not working on Android

Hi guys, I'm having this bizarre problem that I hope you could help me with.
I currently have an iPhone 5S, SGS4 and HTC One and share a single sim card between all three phones.
In my home country my SIM card is able to access data on all 3 phones with no problem.
However, when I go abroad and use data roaming, only the iPhone is able connect, both android phones are unable to connect at all.
I checked the APN settings and all seem to be correct.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

Have you enabled data roaming in settings..!??
If you are using a custom rom you can find it in settings - - > more - - >mobile networks... Tick the data roaming option... I've never tried data roaming as I don't travel much... But that might help you..! [emoji106]

Yup it's ticked for sure. On the HTC it says that APN settings are incorrect, on the Samsung the phone just refuses to connect. If I move the SIM to the iPhone, data roaming works flawlessly!
When I'm back home, I have zero problems with either phone, which leads me think this is either an Android problem, or a SIM card problem.

Then I guess it has something to do with APN's... Maybe it requires different APN's for roaming... And somehow iPhone has them by default and android doesn't.... Contact your service provider and get the apns..!! That's my best bet.... Good luck
