how to change notification sound

Greetings,
I searched but did not find any answer to how to change notification sound.
If there is a way i will appreciate it sharing it with me.
Thanks
Vatis
???
Settings -> Sound & display settings -> Notification ringtone.
If you want to add your own notifications and ringtones, create a "Ringtones" and "Notifications" folders on the SD card and put sound files in there.

The Skype notification sound is built into the skype app itself. The only way to change it is to decompile the skype apk using apktool, swap the sound files around, repackage it, sign it and push it back to your phone. Its quite complecated if you don't know what you are doing.

[Q] Cyanogenmod 7 ringtone failure

Greetings.
Just recently I flashed my Wildfire with Cyanogenmod 7 and so far it's an awesome ROM, although I miss a few things from Sense.
Just yesterday I noticed that on my Cyanogenmod 7 I can't seem use custom ringtones. Let me explain.
I deleted all the profiles and only the Default one is present and selected, it does not override anything.
Then I installed "Rings extended" because that seemed to work really good on stock ROM and selected to use it as the default ringtone picker.
It works fine, but the problem is, when I go to "Setttings -> Sound -> Phone ringtone" and select my ringtone using "Root explorer", or any other option available, it does select it and I can play it when I tap it, but it DOES NOT play when someone is calling me - instead it plays the first system ringtone.
Same thing happens with the notification sound and an SMS sound (Messaging -> Settings -> Notification settings -> select ringtone).
Now I tried to create a "ringtones" folder and "notifications" folder and put my rings there. The system ringtone picker detects them but again - does not play them.
So I have no idea what is wrong with it, maybe they needs to be in some special format or something...?
Ok, I managed to sort this myself. I got an idea what to do while I was writing the first post
Seems the problem was with me deleting the Android player, which was not deleted on my stock rom.
When I installed the Cyanogenmod 7, I removed all the useless google apps, including the Android player which was useless to me and it seems that it was responsible for custom ringtones as well.
I installed the one that I found on the market, used it to select my ringtone and everything is fine now!
Brilliant suggestion
I just flashed my HTC T-Mobile G2 (Desire Z) with CM7 and I ran into the same problem.
A quick search online brought me to your post and after following your advice, I end up having my ringtone back!
Great suggestion, thanks!

[Q] RootBox Information help

Hi yesterday i've flashed RootBox v3.5 stable(not nightly).
So far i'm very impressed with the smoothness of RB, aswell as deep sleep ratio with stock kernel.
If possible i would like to have some information about this rom, that i havent found using search in rootbox thread.
How do i display only my SIM contacts ? ( i was able to import them from SIM card to phone, but i would like to have the option to only view the contacts from my SIM card)
How do i insert a new contact only to my SIM ? ( after importing SIM card contacts, if i try to add a new one, it will go directly to my google account, but i only want to add a new contact to SIM card, i've tried clicking in everything but can't find the option to insert only in SIM card)
How do i change the Keyboard style from texting ? (I've noticed there is only one keyboard layout, any zip or something that i'm able to flash to get numeric keyboard)
Any way to change the SMS layout bubbles ? (i've only found mms, i would like to have bubble speech baloons with different color for sender/receiver )
Where can i set a sms or call sound file from my mp3 ? ( i've search for it, but i can't find any option to select a mp3 sound from my phone)
When i insert my 3.5mm headphone jack, there isnt any notification of it in status bar, and when i go to Settings - RootBox Settings - HeadSet and active it, it gives me FC on DSP Manager.
So far this is the only problems i've got, where the real "bug" was the last one.
Appreciate all your help.
Best Regards

U can't only show the SIM contacts.
Only thing u can do is import or export the contacts from or to zip.
That's not possible with stock keyboard. U have to use a third-part keyboard here like 'Go keyboard' or 'SwiftKey' [look at playstore]
This one's have&manage Designs.
MMS is in this point the app. So u write the SMS via the MMS.apk.
So this means u can go to the Message app > settings > mms theme...
Here u can set bubble style in massagelist or kind of this
Tey to coy the mp3's to System > media > audio...
For sms sound: notification
For call sound: ringtone
Not this should appear in settings of phone (ringtone) or the message app (sms).
If this won't work, u have to convert the mp3 to Ogg first.
Why u want a notification?
The is no notification - so if it works, all is fine.
Because FCs in DPS, just ignore this and wait for newer version in this case.

where its the notifications sounds?

Hello, Iam the owner of a Verizon (USA ) Samsung S6 Edge Plus...
Model Number: SM-G928V
Android Version: 5.1.1
Base Band: G928VVRU2AOJ2
please any can tellme where its the notification sounds on my phone? because I try to add new notificacion sound but the phone don't givme an option to select a mp3 file ( like when I add some tone ring )... I try to find the folder where its the notifications sounds, but I cant find it...
I now the notifications original sounds its a .ogg files, but in all my samsungs olds phones I can add some notifications sounds like mp3 files.... please any help on this ?
thanks
I had the same issue with this phone. I found the easiest way was to use the Ringdroid app. I opened my file, then saved it as either a ringtone or notification (or both). Then it was inserted into the Samsung listing for notification & ringtone sounds. Tried importing my original ringtones, but like you, couldn't find the folder where they were located.
I use Ringtone Maker from playstore to create custom notification sounds from my music files. It lets you edit the song and you can save it as the default notification sound or ringtone.
thanks both for your help on this.... I use today the two apks....
