[Q] Any idea about release for HD2 3.14 sea-wwe rom? - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

does anyone have any idea if/when this ROM will be released?

what is the "sea-wwe rom"??

South East Asia - World Wide English

why so long....!
Yeah..i am waiting for....
http://www.htc.com/sea/

I tried updated my HD2, purchased in S'pore to both the *officially released* 3.14 ROMs.
3.14.405 (WWE-EUROPE)- installs fine but phone gets hung when increase/decrease volume in a call.
3.14.720 (WWE-India)- get the following msg after install: Your OS ROM isn't customized for your hardware. Please reflash the proper ROM code or contact the service center.
Had to flash back to the old and boring 1.66.707 with Radio version 2.06
Get issues with most of the custom roms as well. feel we ve the most deprived HD2

I've been trying to do the same. 405 gave me an invalid vendor ID and I got nowhere. Did you manage to get SPL3.03 to install by flashing 3.14.405? Which SPL did you use?

Although I hadn't planned on up-dating my ROM, if there is/was one available, I do have a couple of questions.
1) How can I determine the region for my HD2? I also think it's Southeast Asia, but I could be wrong.
2) What is the clear advantage of up-dating the ROM. My phone is working quite well, and doing pretty much what I want, so I would only up-date if there's a significant reason for doing so.
Here's my info:
HTC HD2
Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional
OS Version: 5.2.21869 (21869.5.0.82)
Manila Version: 2.5.19211619.0
ROM version: 1.48.707.2 (71294) WWE
ROM date: 11/09/09
ROM Region: South-East Asia (I'm guessing here)
Radio version: 2.05.51.05_2
Protocol version: 15.28.50.07U
Thanks,
Peter

Thanks for the info. How did you determine the region? Is there a place online where one can see a list of ROM numbers and in what region they apply?
Thanks,
Peter
Addendum: I think you may be wrong. I just went to HTC's Malaysia site and tried to download the ROM up-grade listed for the HD2, but it said, "Sorry, this software download is not suitable for your device."

i think singapore and malaysia both have same units...the sea version..they have not released any rom updates there..so where were you trying to download from? ... also, kurt willems has posted it somewhere in his posts, the different roms region wise

As I said in my previous post, I tried to download the ROM up-grade from HTC's Malaysia site at the following link:
http://www.htc.com/sea/
If you go to ANY HTC site, click on "Select Country," and then click on Malaysia, you get the link above.
Now here's what's really weird (the RED part from another post of mine)...
Here are the details concerning my phone:
S/N: HT01XNW02546
Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional
OS Version: 5.2.21869 (21869.5.0.82)
Manila Version: 2.5.19211619.0
ROM version: 1.48.707.2 (71294) WWE
ROM date: 11/09/09
ROM Region: South-East Asia (I'm guessing here)
Radio version: 2.05.51.05_2
Protocol version: 15.28.50.07U
SPL: 2.08.HSPL (Old 1.42.0000)
I have tried virtually every HTC site online and only two of them allow me to download a ROM up-grade: The Hong Kong Traditional Chinese site, and the Hong Kong English site. However, and here's the hitch, both of the file names contain the letters CHT (not WWE) which, I believe, means Chinese. If I were to use this ROM, would my phone change from English to Chinese?
What can I do to up-grade. As you can see, my ROM is quite old. I'd really like to up-grade, but I don't want to brick my phone. It's working well right now, but if there are numerous improvements, perhaps up-grading would be a good idea.
Any thoughts, comments or suggestions?
Peter
Addendum: I see on page 1 of this thread that there are four possible ROMs that I could use (I think):
World Wide English (WWE) 3.14.405.2
Hong Kong: (HKSCL_WWE) 3.14.831.3
World Wide English (WWE) 1.66.405.2
South East Asia (Asian WWE) 1.66.707.1 (This one seems to match my S/N prefix)
What happens if I up-grade using any of the four above? Will some cause problems, will all work, will none work? Please help.

@ PeterHTC
Based on your information; (ROM version: 1.48.707.2)
You mention to have a x.XX.707.x ROM! (Aria Rom = South East Asia)
Now if you will try to install a other Rom aria version as the one you have fore the moment you need to install it over HSPL ore Goldcard.
But; HSPL and stock ROM 3.14 aren't compatible! So if you will install the latest stock ROM (3.14) you need to use GoldCard technique.
Install stock ROM 3.14 in combination with HSPL caused problems on limited Program Memory.
So use the GoldCard technique or wait fore a 3.14.707.x stock ROM.

and the rom update on the sea website is an old one for 1.66 version...the new 3.14 version is not posted on the sea website...just wait for it..it will come..........mail to the customer care at htc from the website...remind them .........it works

can anyone provide us with at least a leaked rom for asia-wwe?

ROM Released!
It has been released see htc SEA support site
I got my HD2 from amazon with a SEA-WWE rom but i flashed to the normal WWE rom its a bit better than the SEA versions so ill wait till they release a 3.14 WWE
i couldn't post the url cause of this

In case peoples are looking for mirror download links; here you have: RUU_Leo_S_hTC_Asia_WWE_3.14.707.3

Here are the details concerning my phone:
Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional
OS Version: 5.2.21869 (21869.5.0.82)
Manila Version: 2.5.19211619.0
ROM version: 1.48.707.2 (71294) WWE

I wish I'd read Peter's post before I downloaded the ROM upgrade!
I bought my HD2 in New York last March. The OS, ROM, Manila, Radio and Protocols versions were identical to Peter's listed above.
I went to the Hong Kong-English section of the HTC site, where ROM Version 3.14.831.3 (Release Date: 2010-11-02) was available to download.
My S/N was accepted and I proceeded to download the ROM. The installation instructions were mostly in Chinese, but foolishly I did not suspect anything and persisted with the installation, using guesswork and intuition. Also (foolishly) I failed to notice that the actual ROM I downloaded was Version 3.14.832.3 (04666) CHT.
Now I am stuck with a Chinese language HD2 which is virtually impossible to use.
Can anyone help please?
Eamonn.

When I bought my HD2 - which is a 707 hardware. (Same deal, chinese mall in Toronto) it was in chinese, the girl changed it over to english for me and aside from the extra keyboard button that would kick it over into chinese from time to time, it was workable.
What I've done with mine, as I don't know chinese and gave up learning years ago, was install the latest Artemis ROM after goldcarding it. Instructions are on the thread. Goldcarding makes the hardware not check to see what region it is locked to while loading new firmware - so you can flash WWE or whatever you want to it.

T-mobile Germany releases MDAII update Version 1.60.07

T-mobile Germany offers an update for their MDAII modells on their homepage:
http://www.t-mobile.de/downloads/1,1953,7483-_,00.html
Good for all, who own a MDAII, not an XDAII like me. :x
According to their homepage it fixes the following problems: (translated into English):
Optimisation of data rates on sending files vie GPRS
serial Bluetooth profile
Optimisation of sending SMS to divers contacts
Improved video-streaming
MSN messenger security update
New ROM 1.60.07
Has anyone tried this? Since it is the official T-Mobile ROM update to the MDA2 that most of us have, should it work better? I am also really curious if it fixes the GPRS logging off problem introduced by the first ROM update.
Any comments?

This is a German Upgrade.
I wanted to try upgrading my XDA I having ROM-Version 4.01 on it - the Upgrade File says "there has been a problem - soft reset your device and try again" for almost 5 times now. Is there no way of doing that?
I have noticed that the nk.nbf has a different size than the usuall one in the RUUv2.04b_CEv4.01.00wwe_VS_Ozone_Test_(Integrate_Radio_6.24.01) for example.
Can anyone help, please?

This is an update for the mda2 not the mda! :?
Sounds like the German MDAII ROM update 1.60.07 has the Bluetooth COM port fix, but the Carrier Devices update version 1.52.00WWE also released recently does not.
I set up the new T-Mobile ROM 1.60.07 to load on my I-Mate, but it showed that the CE version and RS version were the same as on the 1.60 ROM which I previously installed. The only difference was in the extended ROM which was newer (and I assume German T-Mobile specific). Can anyone verify if the CE version is actually updated in this German ROM or just the T-Mobile icustomization layer. If only the later, is there anything in there worth a look?

Can you tell us please if this official German upgrade is in German or in English?
Yo BarnOwl (and others),
It's German. I have been testing both the unofficial English one and the official German one. Both have OS revision 1.60.00 and Radio Stack 1.06.1. The only difference is the Extended Rom version, 1.60.06 for the English one and 1.60.07 for the German one. Only a marginal difference in the provider settings, nothing more.
Same goes for the leaked Dangaard Qtek version. Again OS revision 1.60.00 and Radio Stack 1.06.1, only the Extended Rom is version 1.06.21, but again, mainly Qtek OEM specific stuff. Not worth the fuss, and due to the (still unsolvable) Country ID errors mainly internesting for QTek owners.

HTC TyTN Rom update available (15-08-2006)

HTC sent me a mail 5 minutes ago to tell me that a new rom update has been made available:
HTC TyTN ROM Update v1.18.255.106 WWE
HTC TyTN ROM Update v1.18.254.104 Dutch
I will be upping the WWE version shortly
Done, see the Hermes directory in uploads for a file called ME_DT_WWE_1182553_106_10303_Ship.zip
Cool, I just checked my build on the Vodafone version and it's 1.20.161.3 so I might wait a bit
Cool, I just checked my build on the Vodafone version and it's 1.20.161.3 so I might wait a bit
HOW DO YOU DO THAT ON THE VODA VERSION?.
Don't forget that the notation may differ from provider to provider. It may very well be that 1.18 is HTC's own specific notation for the HERM200 devices.
Hi, i have an o2 xda Trion with CHT 9000 English rom....will the rom you uploaded work on my device and is it worth upgrading?.....thanks

how does this compare with the SE Asia Dopod ROM 1.23? is this really an "upgrade"?
So what's new in this ROM, what did it fix?
Can someone please upload the rom to the ftp site?
Hmm, gonna try this out.
Bored of the dopod startup image anyways.
From the wiki the shipping TyTN rom version is 1.18.255.3 05/30/06 WWE, ext rom 1.18.255.105. Can anyone who has flashed this rom confirm if these numbers have changed?
Just finished flashing...
ROM version: 1.18.255.3
ROM date: 07/22/06
Radio version: 1.03.10
Protocol version 32.34.7010.01H
Seems like the date is the only different thing so far.
Gonna see what the ext rom has next.
On a side note, the device seems a bit faster and more responsive, then after last hard reset (yesterday). Might be my imagination thou.
edit. ExtROMVersion = 1.18.255.106

hi,
quick question
i have just got my touch pro
1.90.401.1 wwe UK verison
can i use ur rom
and how do i install it
thanks
I'm no sure that you can flash it...but try maybe in will works, anyway wait HardSPL and you will flash any rom which you want
401 is not the UK WWE version.
All genuine UK devices should have 405.1 on them.
I think 401 is either the East European English, or the EU English. But if you have that one on there, you shouldn't be able to use this one without the HardSPL installed.
If the CID matches then you should be able to flash this to an EU or a UK Touch pro without problems.
I aint at home to download this yet, but somebody could easily let us know which CID it is built for?

Looks like only the Asian ROM is for a Raphael with a different CID:

Yep most likely due to some of the keyboard differences etc...but its generally just to make sure localised ROMs are flashed to the intended device. Compatability should be 100% and just the keyboard may behave slightly different (AZERTY, QWERTY, QWERTZ etc...). Naturally a rebuild for HTC__001 or HardSPL would be needed for it to flash successfully (dont hold me to that, quite confident thats what the deal is though).
Ive updated the info in the wiki to reflect this, good work.

I tried flashing this into my Raphael which currently runs 1.90.401.1.
It goes all the way to the tri-color screen and the percentage bar.
But as soon as it hits 1% it gives the update utility gives the message "ERROR [294]: INVALID VENDER ID" (Typo included), and quits.
Is this CID related? Because the CID between 1.90.401.1 and 1.90.405.1 should be identical.
(Unless I have a 1.90.401.1 with a different CID).

You havent told us which model your device is, and also where it is from?!? Although i suspect the CID for the UK and EU models SHOULD be the same, UK is part of the EU technically so it shouldnt matter. There MAY be differences elsewhere though. The ROM might be built for SuperCID, you might need to double check with an nbh util....from what ive been told a SuperCID ROM will now NOT flash to a device which has a carrier CID now, this was not the case with earlier devices, like a multi-region DVD not working on a region-locked player?!
On the Identity tab of Device Information it does say its a "HTC Touch Pro T7272", I wonder how that's different from "HTC Touch Pro".
Ordered it the phone which is a WWE edition from a Dutch website and using it in the Netherlands obviously.
i cannot flash it either , same cid error and also have HTC Touch Pro T7272
I just know that mines factory unlocked, no carrier behind it.
Ok, using mtty to execute a "info 2" on the bootloader it seems that my HTC Phone has a CID of HTC__032, which would be why I cannot flash this ROM.
I have yet to see any ROMs for the HTC__032 CID.
no worries about CID. hardspl is out in about 10 mins

Problem after flashing Raphael ROM
Hello guys, please give em a hand here.
Picked up a new Touch Pro last week. It was originally O2 so had been unlocked & flashed with both HardSPL 1.90 & RUU ROM version: 1.66.405.1 WWE
RoM Date: 07/14/08
Radio Version: 1.02.25.11
Protocol Version: 52.33.25.17U to change to English. Opera browser & Remote Desktop Mibile were missing.
I tried upgrading with:
ROM version: 1.90.405.1 WWE
Radio Version: 1.02.25.19
Protocol Version: 52.33.25.17U.
ROM flashing went well, but on TP reboot & customization, the progress bar would not get past the Opera 9 installation.
I have soft reset & then hard reset & still get same problem. The TP is still missing Opera browser & Remote desktop.
Has anyone experienced this or hav an idea what the problem is? Could it be a problem caused by the Hard SPL?

Hi,
I have also got the o2 version of the Touch Pro and reflashed it using this ROM. The flash completes fine and the phone reboots. I hard reset the device as soon as the flash completed and the phone wanted setting up.
I've now gone through the setup and the phone is installing the software but it has appeared to stop at the Opera9 installation.
The phone is currently sat saying 'Installing WM6_PPC_HTC_Opera9_WWE.CA (Looks like the B is at the end but runs off the screen lol)
I downloaded the ROM from this thread, ran the HardSPL to allow flashing and then just ran the exe file that I downloaded from here.
I've left it now for about 10mins and it hasnt moved, going to soft reset it and see what its doing, then try installin Opera 9 from a seperate CAB.
If anyone can help I would appreciate it alot!
Thanks in advance,
M_Taylor40

[Q] Can stock ROM upgrade lock a phone back to its carrier

If you mean unlock from; unlock your device from your operator, than the answer will be NO!

I would also like to know how to upgrade my Manila from 2.5.1920 to a better one that supports Sense in landscape.
Your Manila version will be upgraded at the same time you upgrade your Rom if it is build in! not every Rom Upgrade have a new Manila version, but the majority have. Way not take a cooked Rom thy have the latest manila version?

@ Kurt Willems
Thanks for your answer but when i said unlocked, i meant that my cell is already "unlocked" right now (using another network in India). What i need to know is whether the ROM upgrade will "Lock" it back to O2 since the upgrade that i will use reads:
ROM Version:1.72.206.3 for O2 only
NOTE: This update is for O2 UK devices currently on ROM version 1.43.206.4 only. Users with devices on ROM version 1.48.405.2 please click here (on the official HTC site)
So will this upgrade "LOCK" my phone back to O2???
and I guess i should ask a complete question.............please tell me which ROM to go for apart from the one mentioned above............i dont wanna brick my HD2
The complete specs are as follows:
OS Version 5.2.21864 (21864.5.0.81)
Manila Version 2.5.19202525.0
ROM Version 1.43.206.4 (70315) WWE
ROM Date 11/06/09
Radio Version 2.04.50.22_2
Protocol Version 15.26.50.07U
Okay, I sea more clearly now what you mean.
unfortunately I don't have a idea if it will lock again your device. In Belgium we don't have locked device so I don't have experience on this.
And I will not give you a wrong information.
Sorry!
no it will not re lock your device. Once unlocked, its permanent.
yes you can change the o2 splash screen. flash a different rom (some cooked roms dont have them, some do, all oficial ones do, flash a t mo one, you get a tmo splash, flash a generic htc one, you get a htc splash) or you can make your own, see my sig and many threads like it.
@ Kurt Willems and Samsamuel...............thanks a lot. There is one more thing that i need to know; i read somewhere that a wrong radio can damage the cell bad........wanted to know if the following Update would work on My existing ROM:
RUU_Le2_UK_1.72.206.3_Radio_15.32.50.07U_2.07.51.22_2_Signed_LEO_Ship (this is the ROM update file)
Existing :
OS Version 5.2.21864 (21864.5.0.81)
Manila Version 2.5.19202525.0
ROM Version 1.43.206.4 (70315) WWE
ROM Date 11/06/09
Radio Version 2.04.50.22_2
Protocol Version 15.26.50.07U
your current version tells us that you do not have a 'tmous' hd2, so you do not need to worry about the radio bricking your phone. That only applies to tmous hd2s, you have a 'regular' hd2.

in your device check the software version and the radio version
and give it to me... i'll give you the link from where to download the same rom
rom version 1.66.415.4 (76641) WWE
radio version 2.07.51.22_2
there .....
its really strange that i cant find any of the great developers and programes on this site to help me in my problem
as it was stated in another threaduntil noe ther is no way to "extract" or "backup" an entire rom .
I perfectly see what you mean, its a problem for me too: i modded my 1.66 stock rom so heavily that it would take days to reconstruct my perfect running hd2 in case an update to new 3version stock or flash of cooked rom fails at all and/or dissatisfies me.
then i want to go back to the previous perfect state by just flashing my cutomized stock rom without any additional hazzle
Sashimi won't do this, no other app won't do this..........
Even Spb backup won't do this as I had to learn the hard way since reflashing seems to be not the same as just upgrading a rom .........
some things happen in the rom that we still do not fully understand ......
I have the same concern as winner1. I want try out some custome roms, but before that it would be nice to have some sort of backup of my stock rom.
troed mentioned there is no to "extract" or "backup" an entire rom. So there is the option of downloading a stock rom.
As a matter of fact I am a total noob and I have no idea on what i must to pay attention to. Could someone help me to find a download of my stock rom, please?
Despite there is no hardware-branding, I don't know if my rom is software-branded. It would be nice to have a branded rom if there was one.
I bought my HTC HD2 from the service provider Three in Austria in August this 2010.
Here are some additional information about my phone:
OS-Version: 5.2.21869 (21869.5.0.82) / WM 6.5 Pro
Manila-Version: 2.5.19211619.0
ROM-Version: 1.66.407.1 (76641) GER
ROM-Date: 01/11/10
Radio-Version: 2.07.51.22_2
Protocoll-Version: 15.32.50.07U
Thank you for your effort and time.

The fact that your rom version is 1.66 tells us that although the phone is on 3, the rom isn't rom locked, so you use default HTC roms, not branded roms. (Which would have a 1.7x version)
Unless i am mistaken, this means you need the 1.66 HTC GER stock rom, which (amazingly) can be found on teh HTC germany website under support, pick your phone, downloads, rom updates., or, as per post two of this thread, the official roms thread, first post, first link, 1.66 folder, and teh one you want is called
RUU_Leo_HTC_GER_1.66.407.1_Radio_Signed_15.30.50.0 7U_2.06.51.07_Ship.exe
If you download it from teh htc website, you can confirm its the correct one by using your serial number, because it wont let you download it if its not correct.
