Is it possible to change the Contacts app from SonyEricsson and push the Contacts.apk from an original 2.1 Android?
I think isn't possible because of timescape and all the SE stuff but... I want the contact list from 2.1... SE contact list is totally a RUBBISH !!! Even now it's worse than the 1.6 ...

Did anyone try to remove timescape and substitute contact.apk by the original one? I don't like timescape, and removed it without problems.

why you say that the 2.1 contact list is worse than the 1.6?
Can the default contact application set the birthday of contacts? The SE one cannot do this. If the default android app can do this, I might also look into changing application.
God damn it, if we can change the contacts app, i'll try with the f***ing calling app... which is what really boders me (damn mute button)...

I recently rooted my phone, and I think I messed something up along the way....when I open my phonebook and click "view contact" I get a message that says "the application phonebook (process android.process.acore) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again."
Can I fix this?? It's really annoying not being able to view any contacts. BTW, all other aspects of the phonebook work, and I can't find that specific file in titanium manager....maybe I accidentally uninstalled it somehow....?????
Have you deleted timescape or mediascape?
I think one of those is connected to the phonebook.
Almost sure it´s timescape.
Try to restore both TS and MS and see if it works.
Then delete one of them.
Unfortunately timescape needs to stay for phonebook to work properly.

thanks everyone!! i did uninstall timescape and mediascape. i dont use either of them. i figured it was a specific driver i uninstalled by accident. is there anything else i have screwed up by removing them, because if not ill just use phonebook 2.0

Just reinstall the timescape.apk above and your phonebook will work again.

Can you add other social sites like Twiter and Facebook on Timescape? If you can ... how can i do it. I saw there is german FW that has an aditional site (VzNet i believe).

I know that. But there must be a.way to add more. I hope there is a dev to work on this issue couse it will really enhance the experience. Thx for your reply. SE must continue to develop Timrscape further and to insertet on future devices. Despite the lack of suport i think my next device will be yet another SE becouse of Timescape and Mediascape.

It's to do with how timescape manipulates the information from those servers hence no other ones are on cause they can't work it out.

does it have to be timescape? there are a few alternatives available....tweetdeck lets you hook up a few different type of accounts, and im sure there are others.
I now there are some other solutions on the market but none come even close to Timescape. Timescape is the best there is outthere so that's why i'm asking. I mean if the germans did managed to add Vznet somebody else can do it sooner or later.

Here in The Netherlands, also the Dutch social Network Hyves is also availlabe on Timescape.

yes, in german and austrian (austria) timescape there is "StudiVZ" its a social network for students...

There's a TimescapePluginManager.apk in system/apps. I'd assume that there is an add-in system and that the API info is only released to carriers... You could try checking the sony developer world website though, maybe there's some info there.

you got it wrong. The studivz and hyves plugins for timescape are original SE Plugins. All we have done is integrated it into other language ROMs.
So sorry there is no API or smth. for Timescape. Let's wait for 2.1 and see how SE improved it, maybe there is way in the new Rom.

Hi, is there a way to replace system apps with my own app, like replace semchome with launcher pro, music with zimly, that doesnt cause any problems like missing apps notification error ?
You have to download the replacements and delete the system apps, however I'd search the forums on how to do that since not all of the system apps can be replaced without seriously breaking the OS.

What for? just uninstall the system apps you dont want and use whatever you want as default. I removed semchome, music, semcalarm, and all the semc **** i could eliminate, which was quite a lot.

All he mention above I could delete without rupercussion, one thing however is a bit annoying. I delete the stock messaging apps and the notification for the go SMS stop working. Need to actually reinstall the messaging apk

Nah, those programs have their own custom notification. i actually uninstalled conversations.apk, timescape craps, the stopwatch and the timer too... oh, the browser too. i don't know if I'm forgetting something. ah, the facebook app. em. calls too. and contacts. and mail. i uninstalled everything i could, lol xD. oh, the calendar too.

Heh, yea, i replaced bunch of apps too.. Home (launcherProPlus),Conversations (Handcent SMS), Album(Gallery3D Fixed), Calendar (stock android 2.1), Phonebook (Contapps), Music Player ( Music Mod), browser ( Skyfire browser), Clock (Minimalistic Text), lockscreen (Widget Locker) and keyboard (skandinavian keyboard)..

I know but the thing is I've disabled the stock notification and enabled the go sms notification and when I delete it, this happen.
Hi, i have one biiig problem... I cant update/sync my contacts with TimeScape or SyncMyPix... it only sync contacts without contact picture, but contacts which have a picture NOT... can somebody help me please?
SyncMyPix says that "download failed" for every contact with the contact picture...
disable the smart match feature on syncmypix and do it manually
I did it and can sync them and view the pics on timescape/contacts

my facebook/timescape wont pull pictures either. I think facebook changed some software. has anyone changed to https on facebook? I think that may be the issue

Mines doing the same thing, I had enabled the HTTPS setting, I've taken it off but it's still not showing pictures in Timescape
not quite sure but what fw are you using?
cause I'm really not getting any prob with timescape/syncmypix
seriously it's just weird
ok so i just stopped using https and deleted facebook out of timescape then re added it and boom....pictures come back
