[Q] Resolution Compatible Apps and Games

Hi,
I just got an Android Tablet with 1024 x 768 resolution... I tried installing my current games and apps for my HTC phone (480 x 320 ) ... and I thought it would somehow adjust to my screen resolution of the tablet !
Although some apps from the Market supports both my lower res phone and higher res Tablet... So how can i check which games/ apps will support the higher resolution tablet? Is there something specific you need to check before downloading or trying out new games?
I saw a bunch of acronyms Games HD... does this HD mean its' meant for tablet or higher res? Sorry i tried googling and i couldnt find my answer..
Thanks

All apps you browse through on the market (while on your tablet) should be compatible. Many times when an app says HD, it means tablets are supported but not always. Also, in the description of an app, it would usually say if it's compatible with tablets.

Magic Piano Chords

Hello,
First of all I'm not sure if this is the right forum to post this in so feel free to move it to the correct forum
I'm running the latest CM9 nightly on my HP Touchpad, and when I play Magic Piano by Smule, I can only play with 2-notes maximum chords. The Touchpad is capable of multitouch so it can play more than 2-notes chords.
In the Help section of the Magic Piano app, it says that the capabilities of touch screens differ from device to device, so the app would limit the number of notes per chord to 1 or 2 notes if it detects that the device isn't capable of 2 or more touches.
So my guess is that the app cannot recognize the CM9 Touchpad (tenderloin) as a multitouch device, so it's limiting the number of notes per chord to 2.
Is it possible to modify the build.prop file to make the magic piano app recognize the Touchpad as a multitouch supported device? If so how? What lines do i have to change?
Thanks in advance.
Hi,
Do you try to change the build.prod 'product name' settings so the app believes you're on another tablet ? I have to do that to play UNO on my Touchpad (and on my galaxy note).

[Q] to Android gurus: Change aspect ratio/resolution on MK802 IIIs

Hi Android gurus! I have nut to crack and I was hoping you could help me with that.
I want to use my MK802 IIIS with a projector but I am having aspect ratio/resolution issues. Namely my projector supports 800x600 and 1024x768 but on my Android stick I get chose 1920x1080, 1280x720 or 720x480 (Settings->Display->HDMI modes). The stick has only HDMI output and I am using a cheap chinese adapter to connect it to the projectors vga input. For example with 720x480 I do get the picture but at left side a slice of it is cut off.
Ideal would be if I could set the video output to 1024x768 (with 4:3 aspect ratio).
So, how could I change it?
Is there any Xorg like solution, that is, add resolutions by editing some conf file?
I have limited knowledge on Android but I do know java and I am willing to digg in and so all answers and solutions are welcome. Of course it would be great if there would be easy fix but if you think I should go nuts and create a custom ROM, build custom firmware... I will be excited to hear that.
Anybody?
Where how??
I'm trying to find an answer to the same thing, Also an android stick but also in general for Andoid.
Besidess the menu's in settings, which can be limited, there must be a way to force a specific resolution.
And I don't mean "simulate" a resolution change by changing the Density/DPI
Someone must know, and It must be easy, please share

[HELP] [REQUEST] AM2R game don't work on Android TV, how to fool it?

Hello guys,
I saw this topic on the forum about a custom Fortnite apk, bypassing the device check to play it on any device:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/port-fortnite-android-device-check-t3827258
And i have a similar problem so that's why i create this thread.
There is a game called AM2R, which is a really nice Metroid 2 remake made by true fans on Game Maker 1.4
It's a pc game but Game Maker can also export it on android. The problem is the version 1.4 can only export on Android phones, not Android TV. The version 2.0 can export on Android TV but i asked the dev and they said it's impossible to convert their game to game maker 2.0 because it would take a huge amount of work.
But i want to play it on Nvidia Shield TV, which is an android TV, since i don't have a PC and i don't like to play on a small phone, especially with a virtual controller.
When i tried to launch the game on my Nvidia Shield TV, i have this message:
'' FATAL ERROR in
action number 1
of <Unknown Event>
for object oTestKeys:
Incorrect Android target... this executable targets Android TV devices. This build is for Android. ''
As you can see, the game check the device and see that it's not a phone so it doesn't launch.
I think it's possible to modify the apk to fool the game and make it work on Android TV, using a similar method than the one used for the Fortnite mod.
But I tried the tutorial of that topic and when i decompile the apk using apktool, there is no smila folder so i can't modify the file needed.
Maybe there is something to do in the Android Manifest, i saw something called ''intent'', with the words ''ouya'' and ''tv'' in it (ouya = another android tv)
And i saw on internet that a developer can ban Android TV using a command in Android Manifest, so I think the opposite is possible too. Maybe there is something to delete in it.
Or something to add in the apk to bypass the device check and say to the app that it's not an Android TV but a Samsung phone, like for the Fortnite mod.
So can someone try to modify the apk to make it work on Nvidia Shield TV please?
I'm not an Android specialist so i can't do it myself...
Here is a link to download the apk:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1LrddBPcAK9Ufs9Eo8Jl5Z_zTTDvKzzHO/view
Thank you very much in advance.
Best regards.
Another solution could be an app simulating a phone on android tv, maybe the app would launch.
But i don't know if it exist
So no solution? :/
It's really impossible?

Android Emulator Camera high resolution?

Hi,
Im trying to get the Feed of my 4K Webcam into the Camera of an Android Emulator but i'm having trouble getting the full Resolution. I have tried many Emulators but they all seem to have some specific max camera resolution set. On nox and Genymotion I get a max camera resolution of 640x480px, On KoPlayer i got 1280x720p, in Android Virtual Device Manager (AVD) i got 1280x960px and in Memu which was the best one so far I got 1920x1080p. However that resolution doesnt suffice for my purposes. Does anyone know an Emulator which supports higher virtual camera resolutions? Or how to create a Virtual Device in AVD which supports higher resolutions?
I know there is
hw.camera.maxHorizontalPixels
and
hw.camera.maxVerticalPixels
for AVD
but I dont know where to edit those properties.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
