hy guys! i have a xperia x10 r2ba020 phone. can someone pls tell what is the easyest way to upgrade to android 2.1 ? i have searched the forum but i don't know anything about flashing/rooting and i just don't know what guide to fallow

Read the guides posted on the page you've posted your question.
i have read this guides : X10Flash 2.1 final & 2.1 Firmware (Update Regions 13.11.2010)
x10 Flash 2.1 Final + Global World Firmware 2.1
but in both says old 1.6 Firmware can not be flashed with this at the moment) should i first update to r2ba026 ?? or can i use any of this 2 guide to update directly?

And as I'm sure it's pointed out in them it's to flash 2.1 fw only, not 1.6.

hey guys, i've been going about the forums and trying out various stuff. i really want android 2.1 on my phone, but i've had no success. and i only just found out that the SO-01B runs on x10a configurations and according to wikipedia, it has lack of support for android 2.1.
is this true? if not, can someone please link me to a guide that will work for me? i've seen alot around but im not sure which one would work and i really don't want to mess up the phone.
Im running on android 1.6 with RABA026 FW

Same as you I flashed mine to an x10i and latest firmware (before 2.1).
Just donwload the decryted 2.1 ROM with flashtool from the main board and flash it. You'll be fine
Yes. I also updated my SO-01B to 2.1. No problems so far Everything works great.
Just use the version that provided @Bin4ry (hail to the genius) and you're set.
and don't forget to back up everything if things go sour (you never know).
i also have the same model as yours, and updated successfully.. i tried both the nordic and global firmware and both worked well..

i am on X10i with 1.6 branded firmware but now unlocked to any carrier... Downgrade with X10 Flasher from b4nary and root with zdzihu prerooted 2.02.A.0.24 for Xrecovery. Search Forum and you will find how to do it.
Flash with THIS, install THIS, then THIS, and you'll have an up to date and rooted X10.
Anyway, you can root stock .24 firmware now without flashing to the pre-rooted version.

Dude when it says that your mobile is already up to date,and still you didn't got the latest update....then try the repair option on SEUS or SEPC.
Can i downgrade my P500 from 2.3.3 to 2.2 or install a custom ROM ? Im from Romania and i buyed the phone free...
