Rom building question?

I am rooted using the 3 step method. Is it possible to use the final stock rom as a base in the android kitchen?

Should this have been asked in the developer forum? All I am wanting to do is make sure I don't use the wrong rom to start learning and brick my tb. I have virtual box and all set up already. I understand some of these roms have signatures that have to be there and other stuff. This is just for personal use. And I wanna get more familiar with linux and my tb.

If you have recovery you could just download a kernel using your phone on wifi and flash it. Then download setcpu and create profiles. That saves a lot of battery

Also I can't seem to find the stock bootanimation file..its usually under system/media...I was going to add my own personal bootanimation,as I've simply done with 85% of the roms I've used ?

Faux kernel - schedulers?

Before anyone starts i cannot find a definitive answer.
What are these and how do they work?
And which is the most appropriate for a) battery life and b) performance?
I use faux123's latest kernel
Thanks
Faux himself has said many times that nvidia chipset does not allow schedulers to run because it is set to performance by default and any others added do not have any effect on battery savings, etc. I would provide a reference, but i do not remember the exact thread.

Disregard my comment.
Search google for the different schedulers. There are explainations of every one of them and what they do, somewhere in Xda.
Search and google are your friends.

You obviously didn't search very hard because I had the same questions a few months ago and I found the answer fairly easily.
