I have noticed a few programs which seem to load in to the memory after a power off and on. Is there any setting where i can choose what loads in boot up?

Either delete the Stage UI from the screen, or load a new one like ADW. Launcher or LauncherPro from the marketplace. It will prompt you about which one you want to use.
I already have lp and I don't use stage im asking if I can take it off the phone completely...

Root the phone and get titianium backup from the market the paid version. Then you will have the option to freeze the app, back it up or uninstall it. I normally freeze it so if I ever need it again all I have to do is defrost it.

not sure if everyone knows this. there is an app called spare parts that has to great features.
speed up animations and menus I believe. check it out on the market. I load it with all my android phones.
same concept as tweaking windows settings to make things pop faster.

How do you do that? is that compatibly mode?
Unchecking compatability mode made most apps run full screen on my Wits A-81.

There is an option to change font size but when u exit the app or even rotate it after u change the font it will go back to normal (running 1.8.1)

I just ended up clearing all caches and then reinstalling 351 from the wiki site here on xda. That seem to do it and I kept all my apps ( I installed like a new update)

Im looking for a app that will kill selected apps then turn screen off
Eg i use systempanel widget to end tasks then screen off and lock shortcut
So looking one icon to do both.

Yeah just tried it and tasker has the ability to create task activated at event screen off then kill apps

ye found that, i may of missed a setting i can only find the option to kill 1 app.
Is there an option for tasker to run a widget that kills all apps except 1 or 2 excluded apps?

Why would you want to do that?....each to their own...I believe you will have to set a kill app for all apps you want to kill....still think killing all apps is crazy

When I said all I mean all that are using x amount of memory or ones that stay in memory that I don't want but making sure specific app are never killed.

As an alternative; "Automateit" can probably also do this. Its a lot more intuitive to use/setup.

Specifically the volume + app from meltus on the gingerstreak rom....no matter what I try to do it stays on installed and when I click update it says declined...i already tried attaching then detaching thru titanium but no luck...any ideas appreciated thanks

Is it installed in the /system/apps directory? If it is it would still show as installed. And which gingerstreak version? 2.0 or 2.3?

Have you tried manually buying though market.android.com first? At least then you'll be sure it's at least purchased

Use one of the file manager like astro and go into the ROM package. In the package you will fine the app and can reinstall it.
