[Q] ? desktop visualizer and custom icon sizes... - HTC Aria Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

does anyone on here create their own custom icons to use with desktop visualizer? I'm wondering if you know the correct pixel dimensions to use for each icon size? (1x1, 2x2, etc.) The reason I ask is because I'm trying to make some icons but when it resizes them they are always pixelated, i cant get it right. I would ideally like to size the icon pngs just right so no resizing is needed at all.
post up if you know, thanks.

hi,
did u ever get an answer to this as im only new to the whole editing thing and i cant get my icons to fit right to the borders on desktop visualiser

Not sure off the top of my head, but try finding a screenshot of somebody that has it set up, then put that image in photoshop and measure the tiles with a selection box.

My thought exactly. I know the 1x2 dimensions are 152x294...the 1x3 are 472x150. Ive had the same problem with mine for the aria phone 7 theme, you gotta play wit it an get used to how the size changes slightly when theyre done. some jus wont resize the way you want. Im trying to find out a good size for all those that dont fit well no matter how theyre resized. Ive already made my own icons(well most of them> to replace the aria wp7 icons. I think i left most of them editable....i think lol!!! BTW fireworks is super awesome for editing icons!!!

I never got an answer, but what I eventually did was used desktop visualizer in conjunction with Launcher Pro. I would use a larger size (e.g. 2x2) and resize it smaller. It turned out pretty good.

Sizes in px
1x1: 110 x 125
1x2: 110 x 260
1x3: 110 x 395
1x4: 110 x 530
2x1: 230 x 125

10/12/10 - Updated - Android On Mega, Project Thread and Status Updates

Porting Android to Mega/Touch2
Hello Everyone,
Here I will keep everyone updated on my status of porting android to the Mega.
Feel free to post methods or any ideas you may have for me to test. also feel free to report your successes/failures you have tried.
Current Status:
9/8/10 - Phone Received from USPS, Getting a spare SD card tomorrow to use for the device.
9/12/10 - Tested a few things over the weekend, was swamped with work and my brother was home to visit. Will test more this week
9/17/10 - Found the NLEDSET for Vibrate : NLEDSET 1 1 is to do vibrate, will compile into kernel over weekend to see if the kernel is interacting with hardware
10/7/10 - Been trying to get together with sweetbinodray and discuss how we can work on this as we have been hitting dead ends, as he is in a different time zone it has been tough. will keep you posted
10/12/10 -
Ive considered both of the two posts. This whole project im sad to say is sorta coming to a halt I currently dont have the time to work on this project. If you feel cheated for those who donated I will reimburse donations and If I ever get time down the road to work on this I will, but currently with work and many other projects that are higher priority with me I have lost the time to work on this specific project. Im sorry if I let you down but honestly this has been tough for me, all of this has been a learning experience and I hope one day we can bring android to the mega. I will make a decision soon as to whether I will be able to continue with my current workload.
Sorry,
CK
Thanks everyone for the donations to get this device.
Lets get android on this phone
Cheers Everyone!
Saving this for further updates
Congratulations and Best Of Luck With The Development.
We Hope to Achieve The Goal For Sure.

Yea "relevation". If the mega's android have success. It will have a cap. of Jade.
Just you need to do 1 thing, change the ram size inside of haret
Hopefully its that simple Angus haha
Hopefully its that simple. Apart from the ram size difference, we have a squarish thing and 2 buttons beside it. The squarish thing allows u to move up down left right, the left button is for answer and the right cancels calls.
The less is only home and the back button.....
However, is it the big problem??
I dont know, if the android in mega release, you can try to change default.txt's rom capcity. I dont know it will work or not.
Now, WE JUST WAIT.

Iam thinking about buying an Desire X, can you tell me how is battery? How about performance?system reactions and gaming?thanks for answer
Battery perfomance gaming.
Ah yes, the Desire X is perfect for gaming, for a full game experience i suggest riptide GP, and about the battery, it's great, if you want to use it to the max, be carefull to not have to many apps open. And the perfomance is awesome, altough it's just 1 ghz, when using it, it won't differ that much from the HTC One X, so this is the best phone for mid-budget prices.

Performance feels good, not super fast but fast enough not to annoy me with any lag.
Battery lasts about two or three days here on regular usage. But I haven't yet installed SetCPU (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=505419) yet, so it might last longer in the future.
I'm kind of thinking about getting this phone but by the time I can change (27 Dec 2012) there are gonna be lots more new phone out by then.

I have bought Wild Blood from gameloft.com and it runs without lag and looks great ! modern combat 3 runs super smooth for me too, iam also happy with this little sweet looking phone

I think it's a very good value and i'm going to buy it if no issues appear
And for those who want more pocketable device - it's perfect
Yesterday got mine, it's a great phone, good looking, compact, fast.
Is there a setting to put wallpapers at the screen rezolution(480x800) ? Only picture that are 960x800 work and it's a bit tricky to set it on the screen because i have to drag that frame every time.
Ehm, i dont know, i just use the standard HTC wallpaper, sorry.

Best DP setting for RedmiNote 3?

According to GSMArena RedmiNote 3 has a ~403 DPI screen. Geekbench 4 says it's 386 PPI.
Some ROM's have a default setting of 360 DP. Some ROM's (Pure Nexus) has a setting of 401 DP. This is confusing
So what's the optimum DP setting?

5.5inch and 1920x1080 equals 401ppi i always use 401
I don't know what you guys are smoking. That 401 thing you're seeing is PPI = Pixels per inch. It's constant. You can't change it.
While DPI is different thing. It's usually a number which defines the size of UI elements on your phone. You can change it. Default DPI for our phone is 420, I guess.
401 default on NOS. Use the one you like though.
I like 400dpi.
My DPI setting is 420 DPI. Because it's more comfortable and our screen specs are same with nexus 5x.
320 dpi best for me imo
LoL. This is even more confusing. There should be a default setting, that is mathematically optimal.
