[Project] RTL Support for for Languages like Hebrew, Arabic and more - HD2 Android SD Development

After some tryouts and days to check the stability of the ROM, after planting the RTL Support patch, I have decided to publish it for our community.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
This patch will WORK for:
FROYO, DESIRE / EVO Sence for all kind, like MDJ Versions.
Will NOT WORK for:
DESIRE HD Sence (because it was ODEX).
DOWNLOAD:

If it makes problems, like: Hang out on Start-Up, try that new version of framework.jar:
New version of framework.jar.
I have seen that most of you send me the same file (size, date and information inside).
So, give it a try before posting your framework.jar .

Here is a WORKING RTL for Desire Z, based on my test it should work for:

Here's a working & tested framework.jar for DesireHD builds:
I created this by combining a framework.jar extracted from actual DesireHD custom builds and the 'graphics' folder for regular Desire roms.

Short Tutorial:
1. Download the file to you PC.
Alternative 1:
2. Your device working with your Favorite ANDROID ROM.
Reboot you device, return to Windows Mobile.
3. Copy it to your SD Card (for example: At Android Folder, create folder name
Framework, and copy it there).
4. Reload your ANDROID using HaRET or other Boot-loader.
5. Using Software: ROOT Explorer
Copy the file that you have been copy to your SD Card (Android/Framework)
to your System files on SD card (root/system/Framework).
Rewrite the file framework.jar that has been there.
6. Reboot your device, and then Reboot to your ANDROID ROM, using HaRET or
Boot-loader.
7. Viola! You have RTL Support for your device!
Alternative 2:

3. Use USB Disk Drive, adb or Droid Explorer:
Copy it to your SD Card (for example: At Android Folder, create folder name
Framework, and copy it there).
4. Using Software: ROOT Explorer
Copy the file that you have been copy to your SD Card (Android/Framework)
to your System files on SD card (root/system/Framework).
Rewrite the file framework.jar that has been there.
5. Reboot your device, and then Reboot to your ANDROID ROM, using HaRET or
Boot-loader.
6. Viola! You have RTL Support for your device!
That patch has been Tested by me and working well for 3 weeks, BUT USE IT IN YOUR OWN RISK!

There are known problems with Sence.
Since they are close source, it is very difficult to fix.
For now, the patch is "as it is".
Do not ask me for update unless i will found a reason for that.
If there are problems on using the patch, i will try to help...
For who asking:
I am using Energy ROM latest 13 Nov.
Radio 2.15
Android MCCM 2.2.1 or MDJ 2.2.1 .

the divice frizes in the boot screen
if you can tell me wtich rom and kernel youre running

Great work!
Just too bad about the DesireHD builds :-( They're the only ones without GSensor related touchscreen freezes etc.
I guess I'll relinquish fullscale RTL support for the sake of stability.
Edit: Doesn't work on MDJ Clean Sense, won't boot afterwards

MIUI is a CM 6.1+ ROM,
You do not need my patch, it already inside!
Hebrew translation, there is a group working hard on that...

Why do you have everyone copy the files manually when you can just put them all in the /root subfolder of Android and have the system copy it onto the system automagically?

Because at MDJ you do not have root folder at Android Folder.
I have tried to make one,and put the files there.
I have stuck at boot...
With my method it continue booting...

When trying to replace the old framework.jar (size 9K) with the new framework.jar (size 3.5M), in the \root\system\framework I get the message that there is not enough room for the update. I see that the free memory there is 1.5M out of some 250M.
Please advice

MM's v2.11 Desire SuperHybrid for Nexus one
its desire rom base 2.10 ported for N1

no RTL in Miui rom
i try your patch in desire rom it has RTL fine but the arabic letter not connected

Android ROM is: MCCM SE V3.3(FroyoStone Sense)[kernel Hastarin r8.4]
I did try to re-install it with a default 1GB data.img, and found that the free memory at \root\system is some 1.56MB (only)

Thats weird, because i use MCCM v3.1 with Hatarin 8.4 and for me it is working.
Any way, please extract the ORIGINAL framework.jar from your ROM, and i will try to fix it...
