Mms issue. Generic network failure? - HTC Aria Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Anyone else having this issue? ATT has been of no help. Just started today. Last night though I was getting no service and an error msg
Which stated " your sim card cannot be registered on this network. " using liberated Froyo FR007
This all started after using Market Enabler.

Well, I reflashed and its still giving me an mms generic network failure error. Everything else is back to normal though. Need mms back. Any other suggestions?

So this is what I've come up with. I got it fixed but found out that m.e. is not the only issue. Do not edit the provider customization db. It will also create a similar issue. Google is your best friend btw lol.

please help!
I'm having the same problem with my aria for yue second time, it won't send or receive picture messages. I got it fixed once by factory re-setting it but I don't want to do that again. I was wondering how you fixed yours and what you had to change or delete?

I had actually replaced the provider customisation db with that of fr008 if that does not work then just reflash fr008 after wiping

Seriously this is some bullsh*... it's bad enough that the damn HTC text app wants to make a "slide show" instead of sending my actual-size picture, but now this? Some days it works, some days it doesn't... both before on stock Froyo and after on Liberated. Is there no hope?

problem sending sms?

hi all,
first off big high 5 for wolf! the time and effort he puts in is incredible, hope he actually gets to go outside sometimes lol
the issue I have is with sending sms, it works fine for maybe a day or so but then I find it will not send a msg it just stays in the 'pending' state. so I have to go into testing menu and refresh and update the sms service number then reboot the phone to enable me to sent texts again.
has anybody got any ideas what it might be? I have a feeling that its something to do with when I turn the internet on but I'm probably talking crap.
I am using wolfbreak 4.0.3 with zkernal.
cheers guys.

are you using the stock sms app? maybe give a try with other sms app
hi, yeah Ive always used handcent. Maybe I should try the stock msg app?
I was also having the same issues when using Z's kernel.I switched to Dooms Kernel and it corrected it. Also you may wanna check your Apn settings, you need two listed-one for data and another for SMS.

Gmail stops syncing/sending emails

I've only noticed this problem with my sgs2, never had it with atrix or HTC inspire. But my gmail app. almost every week will not send attachments or sync new emails. The only thing I can do is clear data and cache and the problem is fixed. But its annoying because I will send emails and the person I sent it to never gets it and when I check gmail its stuck in the outbox and it says sending. Anyone ever had this problem or know of a permanent solution?

MMS Problems

My MMS randomly stops letting me send pictures in the stock app. I am currently running un-named rom with iscrewed theme. What's weird is MMS always works via handcent. Any ideas?

Sounds like the app is crashing. Do a logcat and see what the error is.
Do you have a old AT&T sim card? That was my problem. Ask someone at an AT&T store for a new sim and see if that works.
I am not running anything that would auto start or kill apps.
The app itself isn't crashing it is just giving me a server error when I try to send MMS.
I don't have an old sim card. I am using a micro sim. I don't know if that could be the problem.
I had to flash a different mms apk to get it working again. Look for my thread in the q&a section.

Hopefully my last stupid question. How do I flash the mms apk I downloaded.
Replace the one you have in your /system/app/ folder with it. Root explorer makes it easy. Then reboot.

Problem regarding MMS with CM7

Hi there!
I've got CM7 Ba2tF installed since it was released but mms service never worked. I've already installed the APN for my operator and since then I can receive mms's but when I hit the button "Download", it remains telling me "Downlading..." and after 1 or 2 minutes it comes back to "Download" button to be hitted again.
When I try to send mms, the problem is similar: it says "Sending" and remains like this forever.
I've tried with stock sms/mms app and also installed GoSMS, but nothing.
Also, I've got a Samsung Captivate with CM7 installed which as the same APN installed and working for the same operator and everything is fine.
Can anyone help me?
Any help, please...
I think I'll flash with other rom's to see if it solves the problem.

Hi there, had the same problem myself, my mms messages would say " downloading " forever, but would eventually download once i enabled my mobile data. Hope this helps.
Merry Christmas.

thanks for the help.
After a lot of research and after installing 3 roms I finally have the problem fixed. Basically I've installed Aura Rom and everything is ok now. I really don't understand what would be the problem, because all system and APN properties are exactly I used in CM7, but now it works and with CM7 it doesn't.
Merry Christmas!
I had the same problem. I wiped user data/cache/Dalvik. Flashed CM7. Did the three wipes again. MMS worked after doing this.

I'll give a chance to Aura now,but thx for ur feedback.I'll wait for final cm7 version to do that.

You have to go to Verizon's website and get rid of the feature that's causing it. For wifi try to modify it (long click) and click advanced, change the IP to static, fill in the blanks with what you see there, save and exit then modify again and change IP back to the other option. Then it may connect and disconnect a few times just let it go and it should work

Sign into Verizon and click change features (first pic.) Select ur device and click next. Then go through the list and just disable all features that r enabled (2nd pic) (I don't remember the exact feature for fixing the problem so just disable them all or disable one at a time then click next towards the bottom to confirm the change)

Once I disabled the features I stopped getting the texts. The last two I got had stop or something in them. I also deleted my email account just in case after I disabled the features from Verizon. Since then I haven't gotten anything. Google it that's what I did and those r the steps it took me through

i have looked everywhere and cannot find them. can one of you please post the link...they got so bad i had to put my stock rom back on...the texts are numbers...i got a bunch with the number 1 then 2 then 3 and one was 4....then they went back to 1, i kept wiping cache and all....so please post the link and could someone plleeeasee tell me whats causing this all of a sudden cause my girlfriend has the exact same rom flashed and she is not getting any texts like this....
So when I worked for a wireless kiosk we had a lot of issues like this. It ended up being backup assistant plus. We would take that off peoples accounts and that would stop the texts.

If you get the text messages from Verizon (6250 or whatever). This is how you get rid of that. Login to your Verizon Wireless account. Towards the top, mouse over where it says "My Verizon" and look under "My Plans and Services" and click on "Change Features." Select your phone or the phone that is getting the messages. Now when the next page comes up, look for "Cloud Storage and Sync" and remove the Email Sync option. It's free and will not change your billing. There you go, no more texts

I got those too. I finally found out that I inadvertently signed up for the backup assistant from Verizon. I don't remember exactly how I did it. But I think if you go to their website and remove your account or its connection to yours or something like that. Anyway hope it helps.
