CHT 2.0 bugs ? - Windows Mobile Apps and Games

Hi,
i installed CHT 2.0 (+editor) on a HTC official ROM ( the last one).
i have some (maybe) "bugs", and need your help !
1-/ When the HD2 wake up from a black screen ( sleep screen), the hour, in the clock have 1 hour more ! ( very annoying for alarm clock )
2-/ i delete my mails when i read them.... but the HD2 ALWAYS reload them !
( from a gmail account)
3-/ Same problem with SMS: i delete them, but after 5 or 10mn, they come back !
4-/ sometimes, HTC Sense have big bug with i put the HD2 in landscape orientation for choosing an album ( music album page)

Shouldn't you post it to CHT thread?

Mhhh, better yet ZaxXx, post it in your rom thread is what I would think, 5tef.
However looking again, I see you are using a STOCK rom?
Hmmm, that seems odd then.
I would say you have another app causing you conflicts then. But I can't see the relation of these issues to CHT at all.
These are not CHT issues and would have gotten more attention in CHT thread, if they were relevant, yes.
Though I am curious of your landscape music player bug.
Do you have a screenshot of this "bug"?
As the default landscape in music tab, had issues, that are typically better with CHT installed, in my experience.

ok, thanks

Hi Santod,
I'm not quite sure if this is unrelated to CHT. I had the same problem a couple of days ago when I was abroad. I've configured the phone not to update/download things because of the roaming costs. My phone clock went crazy during these days abroad. When I got home again the clock was ok. I suspect this is because I've set the phone to sync the clock with NIST. This has never happened before when I've travelled, ie. when a had earlier versions CHT.

[ROM][WWE][March 9][21028] ** EnergyROM 2.2 Beta ** with new Rhodium Manila

This ROM is based on the 21028 core, but with all the new goodies from the newly announced Rhodium device. The new Manila interface, new HTC menus, new notifications system. Most bugs are known, so don't report them in thread anymore. This is more of a test version to get a preview of the new Rhodium Manila, xboxmod is working on. He was kind of enough to release the new updated and resized Manila files to be used in this ROM and beta test. Thank you.
Changelog for 2.2 beta:
- Using a new XIP and SYS core 21028 generously provided by Arrupenthal
Changelog for 2.1 beta:
- Alarm clock on Manila issue fixed
- Pictures tab resized
- Audio tab resized
- Scrolling in Settings tab fixed
- Scrolling in Arrange Tabs fixed
- New Internet Tab with built in Google search feature and "Push Internet"
- New Rhodium Menu Enhancement
- Fixed Album full screen menu issue
- New Rhodium Comm Manager
- LOTS more Rhodium OEM packages
Known Bugs:
- Some Manila tabs and pages aren't resized yet.
- You can't make calls from the People tab using the shortcuts under the pictures.
- Facebook upload picture in the Album might not work
- YouTube might not play sound, but will display video.
- Adding bookmarks in the Internet tab doesn't work.
- Facebook status in Contacts doesn't work.
A few more that I will post later.
Screenshots:
So the agps stuff from the leaked fuze ROM isn't included?
Either way, it seems like the upgrade is more than worth it (if not somewhat necessary).
Thx!

With all these fixes, Im super excited to see what this rom can do. NRG could you maybe post on the first thread issues yet to be dealt with? I know this is a beta but I would like to have an idea of where we are.
man, I need to get a life
How sad is it that I'm sitting here clicking the 'Refresh' button every 20 seconds, hoping that a download link magically appears in the OP?
@NRG
Being as though the 'bugs are known' with the Rhodium Manila port, and it still being incomplete, is there anything that we actually should report? I think most of us are aware of the issues with the 21018 build (ActiveSync, specifically), but in order for the thread to be as useful/helpful as possible, I thought I'd ask, in order to keep the useless posts and flaming to a minimum.
In 2.0 and 1.5 I have been unable to assign "Programs" tab to the right softkey. Previously I've used TouchPro Tweak or SecondToday to do this, but it won't save the change in these new rom versions. Any workaround for this?

Hi, I'm using the 2.0 beta and loving it. Great job on getting so many niggles out with this build.
Cheeky request: I really don't like the taskbar items. I feel like they kinda detract from the clean look of the device. Is there a way I can get rid of them? I found the taskbar thread and can restore most of them to normal HTC/WM icons using DLL's, but some of them still stay colourfull. I can't find replacement DLL's for things like A2DP/SMS icons.
Cheers

Quick Question, Does this include the new Tabs Editing Feature and render the Diamond's TF3d Config useless? or do the tweaks still apply, ergo does this render all UC Cabs useless (such as your blue manila .can and the wallpaper for all tabs cab?)

If you guys don't mind some registry editing, grab yourselves Mobile Registry Editor (or just use total command), and check "HKLM\Software\HTC\Manila" and maybe "HKCU\Software\HTC\Manila." You'll see loads of stuff there you can try.
For example, if you want to assign the right softkey to Programs tab, you'd change the value of "HomeRSKPath" to "Manila://programs.page" and "HomeRSKText" to "Programs." I personally have it set to "Manila://weather.page" since I don't use the programs tab (check out wktask that has a really useful launcher that pops up when you swipe down the top right corner).
And there's all tabs background cab for the new manila somewhere in the previous thread.

|ROM||WWE|| ** EnergyROM Series 2.0 with Final Rhodium Manila** ||Build 32409

Welcome to my ROM thread!
This ROM is the "2.0 series" of my ROM line, and it's designed to have the latest and greatest applications and improvements. Because of this it may not always be as stable or bugfree, as a stock ROM. However, I can assure you, it's much... MUCH faster than any stock ROM on your device.
The ROM is being continuously developed and bug fixed and there's almost daily releases. I've decided to name each release by the date when it was released. For example, 31909 would have been released on March 19, 2009.
The ROM is currently based on the 21038 OS core, with all the new goodies from the newly announced Rhodium device (the Touch Pro 2).
It's got the new new Manila interface which is 99% finished now (thanks to the xboxmod team), new HTC enhanced finger menus, new notifications system, album, FM radio and MP3 trimmer, connection setup etc.
This is a ROM built to play with the Rhodium Manila interface xboxmod over on the Diamond forum, is working on.
Please report bugs related to the ROM itself, but NOT the Manila interface.
We're aware of all the things that don't fit, don't scroll, don't click etc and xboxmod and his team are working on it.
If you own a Touch PRO, use the "Keyboard Selector" application under Utillities (after you flash the ROM) to select the proper keyboard layout to use. The ROM comes with the Fuze layout by default.
Please check the post number #3 for a list of known bugs. If it's there, I don't need it confirmed any more. Thank you!
- This ROM is a Ferrari, therefore it drinks a lot of gas and burns a lot of rubber (RAM)... so be prepared to charge it more often!
Stats: 50% Free Memory on Bootup (94Mb)
Changelog for build 32409:
- Fixed GPS "no bars" problem!
- Updated and streamlined XIP... ROM feels faster than ever.
- Cleaned up SYS folder.
- Added back missing sliding keyboard sounds
- Lots more housecleaning... not important enough to list here.
Regular Version > Download US <<>> Download EU
MS Voice Command Version > Download US <<>> Download EU
Apply the cab listed here after you install any of these versions, to fix the SMS/Email scrolling issues in the People tab.

Changelog for build 32209 Milestone release
- Xboxmod was kind enough to provide the finished Rhodium Manila files to be used in this release
- Wifi bug present in previous release is fixed now
- Camera bug still bites everyonce in a while
- Removed Manila tweaks since they dont work in this ROM
- Added VPN and Enterprise components for business users
- Fixed FM Radio component
- Updated Contact Card and Email Wizard applications to latest releases
- Updated to the Rhodium Manila exe (Topaz one was used up to now). This one should be smoother and more.. "compatible" according to xboxmod
- Little updates here and there, mostly not noticeable to the end user...
- Program tabs with 4 icons per row
- Beejive IM fixed
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Changelog for build 31909
-Closer to perfection with this base!
-Cooked in BeeJive IM
-Slide keyboard to wakeup... enabled!
-Removed In Call Recording beeps
-Removed htcpicturepicker... no more red screens when changing wallpaper.
-Fixed Alarm5 bug!

- Hopefully fixed Camera blackout issue
- New startup animation... Hopefully it's not too cheesy
- Reverted back to 3 icon per row in Programs to fix landscape rotation bug
- Etc... Minor little optimizations.
- Added JBed Java
- Added SIM Manager
- There's some problems with listing available wi-fi networks, if you bypass the initial notification bubble, so be careful.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Changelog for 2.0 Build 31509
- Started from scratch with 20771 base / 21028 XIP and GWES.
- Some more changes to Manila, some thanks to Showaco!
- Added several applications
- Ability to turn on/off the new finger menus and notification manager
- Rock solid data connections and activesync !
- Much more that I can't remember right this minute...
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Changelog for 2.0 Build 31209
This build is mainly to address the data connection issues in the 2.0 series.
This ROM was built on the older 20278 system (SYS), but keeping the new gwes for "HTC menu enhancement" compatibility. Data connections (yes, Activesynctoo) work great on this If you want reliability AND the new Manila, this is the ROM to load. Hehe
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Changelog for 2.0 Build 31109:
Changed some button assignments and icons
Added camera package from the newest AT&T ROM
Added more 5.08 drivers, hoping for more compatibility with older radios
Fixed backlight issue
Camera preview works, even with old radios
Renamed ruu_signed.nbh in .rar file to raphimg.nbh for easier flashing from miniSD
Relaxed policies some more
Added HTC Volume control overlay for youtube and fullscreen video player
Manila changes:
- Now able to call from People tab by clicking buttons under the picture
- Add GSensor settings in "Settings" tab
- Changed Weather look
- Scroll fix for country list in weather settings
- Scroll fix for country list in world clock settings
- Stocks icon added, when no stocks are setup
- Fixed calendar weather (you can now switch between F and C) thanks to caseydavis!
- Programs tabs issue resolved

KNOWN BUGS
Some listings in Manila don't scroll all the way to bottom. IE: The SMS and Email pages, the Contact details page... under Contacts.
In Landscape appointments go off the page to the right.
Temperature in "Today's" appointments in the Calendar tab, is still ONLY in Celsius.
Sending SMS from Manila is tricky. While the SMS button does stay on the screen while you type now, it will dissapear if you close and open the SIP keyboard.
Applications I recommend for this ROM:
- Yota Contacts and Dialer
A replacement Contacts and Dialer application, as an alternative to the Contacts app built into Manila now.
- InCallScreenTweak
It's designed to turn off the screen while you have your phone up to your ear, and automatically turn it back on when you're looking at the phone. Works very well.
More to come...
Maybe one more.....

Can we not clutter this thread like we have the last three. It is mostly due to people asking the same questions over and over again, but it is also due to statements and post that are irrelevant. This might be an idea or even a stupid one...
How about opening a separate thread for discussions around the 2.0 series, where people can thank NRGZ, tip eachother of software that runs good in the 2.0 series, questions and keep the ROM-thread to a minimum and just use it for bug-reports/solutions to it?
I don't know if it is a good or bad thing, but that way, we would keep this thread clean and still be able to discuss around the Beta..
@ NRGZ28
Thanks. Will load it in and... Oh bummerr.. Another late night.

Using Sprite Backup 6.5
OK, as much as I love the ROMs and the almost daily updates, I gotta ask...
I'm using Sprite Backup 6.5 (I believe the ROM is loaded with the previous version). 6.5 allows for different levels of merging depending on if it's a different ROM on the same device, completely different device, etc. In the hopes of maybe avoiding having to manually install everything (I know I could use UC, but I'm semi-retarded), reset preferences in different programs, etc., can I do a restore using Sprite after flashing the new ROM, or will Sprite end up overwriting files that shouldn't be overwritten (the changes between builds)?
BTW, yes, I searched... someone did ask this once, but it was between different core builds. I am referring to same core build. I just wanna make sure I (and others) can save a little time (a couple of hours in my case) with each update.
NRG: Thanks for your constant diligence at making the perfect mousetrap.
EDIT / UPDATE: The answer to anyone as curious as me is NO. I backed up 0318, installed 0320, restored by 0318 backup, and it all initially looked good, but couldn't make an internet connection. I tried removing and restoring proxies, SR after each, but nothing. After a HR, internet connection came back. Looks like I have a couple hours' worth of reinstalling ahead of me. Sashimi lessons to follow.

Well, you can always try it and find out; then hard reset when you find out that the ROM is buggy as all get-out. But if you do it, DO NOT POST BUGS IN THIS THREAD. They are almost certainly going to be unique to you. I often wonder what percentage of bug reports are due to people doing just what you are considering doing.
Honestly, just learn to use Sashimi. It's easier than UC. I'm an idiot, too, and now that I have Sashimi set up, it literally takes me 5 minutes to get my fuze tweaked after a flash.

Understood sir. I usually try to troubleshoot and research before posting anything bug-related to avoid that very thing (and the flaming that would most certainly follow). Somewhere I have Sashimi, guess it's time to dust it off and learn to use it.

Has the timezone bug in Manilla been fixed? I saw someone mention it in the previous thread but no message about it in known bugs.
I'm based in Toronto and choose (-5) Eastern as my timezone but when I press on the time, it always shows me as (-5) Bogota, which is one hour behind (due to daylight savings time). It's odd because it only happens sometimes and if I don't touch the time, it won't change on me.
Anyway, great ROM though! Even with the minor quirks, it's still one of the best out there! Super fast, and the new Manilla is nice!

This is a known problem of the rhodium manila, not of this port of it, but of the original. If you look in the touch hd rom threads, they are full of the same problem and no fix is known yet. Apparently HTC hasn't figured out how to add in for daylight savings time. A fix is to not use the the world clock of the new manila. You can replace the home tab file with one from standard manila(1c684cd8_manila). This links the home tab clock back to windows default clock/alarm page instead of the world clock. If you'll notice, your phone only changes timezone when you click on the clock to go to the world clock page.
Camera
Hey NRG,
from a technical standpoint, what is the exact reason the camera goes black like that? I was just thinking about it and couldn't tie the radio to the camera.
Its kinda weird?? Not a complaint, just curious from the tech side on why it does that with the newer builds??

[ROM][WWE][04-04-2009]At0mAng V5.3|Phoenix 21042|Beta RC3|Rhodium(TP2) Apps & TF3D
Brand new build as of April 4, 2009.
This ROM is based on the latest HTC Official ROM (20764) with 21042 XIP ported in.
If you go into Settings/About/Version you will see what I mean.
This ROM is still in beta stage. It should solve the AT&T random data connections. If you download this ROM please test GPS and all basic functions.
All functions besides phone, data, GPS and anything else that needs phone service seem to be working ok. I can not test. If you like to see what I am working with you may do so here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3561163&postcount=286
Please report back any issues you may have besides any TF3D2 issues.
Thanks once again!
ROM can be downloaded here
http://www.4shared.com/file/96735671/7cd5ccdd/Phoenix_RC3_RUU_signed.html
Things to do:
Clean up shortcuts
A few more tweaks
Any issues that may come up during testing.

Fixed the "start" from being displayed
Windows live is missing. A new version just came out today...
All people does not seem to be crashing here but changed a few things from last upload so maybe it is fixed
Not sure why opera is loading...looking into it.
Have you tried GPS?
gps seems to be fine here same as previous roms for me : )
Does this have most of the latest manila fix included?
I'm trying to apply v1c and internet tab patches, but manila freezes every time after a reset
Hi, i know this isn't a bug but was wondering if you knew how to fix this problem thats is affecting all TF3D 2 users out there.
The problem is in the original Touch Pro TF3D you could fast forward and rewind a song with a circular motion on the capacitive d-pad in the Music tab.
HD and Rhodium Manilla doesn't have these features since those devices don't have a capacitive d-pad like the Touch Pro does
I was just wondering if there was anyway to have Touch Pro music tab in the new TF3D 2???

No it does not. I left it up to the user to update what they want. It seems some updates fixes things while it breaks others.
----
New build up. Getting closer to final. Please report back any bugs. Also let me know how GPS is working, even if it is working fine.

Yes opera bug fixed
Just some updated Rhodium Apps and changed the way the ROM is built...
very nice
all the annoying bugs are gone
hard to believe this is a work in progress!
Some programs won't run (minor bug)
EDIT - NOT BUGS, REALISED THIS IS BY DESIGN. MESSENGER NOT BUILT INTO ROM BUT ICONS ARE SO LOOK IS CONSISTENT IF YOU INSTALL MESSENGER.
/EDIT
Hi mate - just flashed v5.3. First couple of things I tried were:
- Messenger
- Windows Live
- Mail Setup
Each one reported files couldn't be opened (Messenger and Windows Live have icons in the Online folder of Start, so wonder if it's a dependant file missing for them, Mail Setup has generic "unknown file" icon).
If anything else pops up while I'm installing and playing I'll shout, but the ROM's certainly looking nice and very responsive so far - thank you.

Windows Live and Messenger are not built in. I have removed icons and will post the latest Live/Messenger with the nicer icons when ROM is done. I use to cook Live/Messenger in cause some people had problems installing it from CAB but latest version works well.
Thanks!
Great!
i love your roms. Donated 10 $! please don't stop.

freeze after installing CHT?

i installed the CHT ytd, i luv it very much, but soon i found that my phone often freeze up.. i cant go back to "today" screen except i do a softreset or remove the batt cover.. any1 hav same trouble?
****fixed after installing this >>> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=592663 *********
chainfires 3D patch, to boost the performance
I had the same issue but it seems that S2U2 is having problems with it?
I'm not 100% sure it's s2u2 but i'm currently testing this by use the lockscreen of CHT and so far i don't have lock ups any more.
Are you using s2u2?
nop i m nt using.. watever lockscreen i m using (CHT, wm default) i wil hav the same issue
I'm not using S2U2 but still hang....usually I will ned to remove the batt to restart the phone.
Don't use the lockscreen from Cookie, doesn't work great (yet). Ik have the same problems, when i use the normal lockscreen i don't have any problem anymore.
i loved CHT's look but after using the latest versions from 1.7 onwards, it keeps hanging after some time that I got sick of it. Uninstalled it totally.
Installed the 25 shortcut link so that I can get 25 shortcuts on the home screen. And installed ThrottleLock (Free) for my HD2 as well. So far, no major hanging issues. I also have SBB Backup executed at 1pm everyday with soft reset after. So the chances of hanging is even less.
Unfortunately WM phones always have some sort of memory hanging issues.
I have the same problem. I was using the 1.7.1 version for long time without any freezes. When i install the 1.8.5 version become the problems. Lots of freezes and the hardest proplem is that it does not responce at the incoming calls. The phone does not wake up and the caller think that i am not answer his call.
i agree with u guys ,it seems that it still have some bugs regarding cht lockscreen ,but using the normal one will make it works perfect(1.8.5)
does any one have an idea of how to a hard button longpress works like a reset fonction without openning the backcover each time it freezes, that would be great.

I make hard reset to fix my HD2 and now i am using the 1.7 version. You think that if i will upgrate to 1.8.5 version with using the normal lock, it sould be works without freezes?
I'm having the same problems here with stock 1.66 rom. installed some cab's for a better homescreen and also CHT. it gets stuck alot in the lockscreen like 15 times a day. did several hard resets and left out diferent cab's for home screen tweaks, nothing worked. Now i turned off CHT lock screen and have now stock locksreen again and every thing works good now.
The second problem i have is that sence restarts allot by itselve, does anybody has a clue what that could be? since i turned off CHT locksreen it got less.
Sorry for bad english.
Grttzz
John
hardreset your phone, install all the mods from scratch and it'll work perfectly.
too many uninstall and install of crappy mods will cause problems you are all describing in your threads. I went through the problem this weekend, clean install, clean registry, clean manila files -- no problems
no problems with cht 1.8.5?

i agree completely, i had lots of problems when upgrading from CHT 1.8 to 1.85 with exisiting Cab mods installed,
hard re set and then just install the mods u actually need to start works great now, no probs at all (other than manila freezing issues with CHT lockscreen) but not bothered about that, CHT is the best.
thx for everyones comment

[05Jul] ROM Topaz Gold 5.5 [OS 5.2.21916][Sense 2.5.20212114][COM2]

ROM Topaz Gold 5.5 - Please see post #289 for Change Log & download link.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here's my ROM based on Mondilv's NATALY.
This is my final release as I dont think there will be any further updates on COM2 (21916).
Release 4.3.1 is to rectify the WMP skin and Facebook Online Album.
Why Special Edition? I released it to coincide with 10 October 2010; so it's 101010. But why am I releasing this before 10/10? Well, I cant wait to let you play with it over the week end
Features:
- RSS Hub on homescreen If you install CHT, the RSS Hub will be disabled from the homescreen. Landscape view not supported in most views due to the RSS Hub. You can still set your shortcut key for landscape view.
- Quick links on homescreen (4x4)
- Programs Tab 3x10 I would advise not to move around the Programs tab as it will freeze the device.
- People Tab with link to Facebook "Updates and Events"
- Messaging with "Secure box"
- Internet Tab tips: (Opera is not installed) If you want to have the quick links with their respective pages displayed graphically, ensure you add the links BEFORE installing Opera (mobile or Mini).
- The Agenda in Calendar tab will show multi-days appointments
- Stock tab I have included exchange rates instead.
- In Photos & Videos Tab you can view Facebook albums of your contacts
- Marketplace
- Facebook Tab (removed since its development is on-going still)
- Twitter Tab
- Swype - 2 versions released; 1 with and the other without Swype
- Footprints Tab. Footprints is hard-coded for the Leo camera. For Topaz you have to get gps photo and then save to Footprints tab separately.
- PP & fsreplxfilt.dll disabled
There are some glitches on the Settings screen which I cant remove. It's the last item "AGPS..." which leads to nowhere when clicked. Sorry for this. Also, the Operator name is not displayed on the home screen but on the Phone dialer screen instead. I use Dynamic Operator Name to display the charges.
CAUTION: ENSURE YOU HAVE UNLIMITED DATA PLAN FOR RSS HUB AND FACEBOOK
Thanks to Mondilv, Barin, Dark Forces Team, members of MobileUnderground.info, XDA-Developers forum, sh4d0w86, meltwater and many others.
CHANGE LOG - 09Dec10
- PP = 18mb as multi-tasking works better instead of PP0 - reduced from 22mb
- Two versions; one with and the other without Swype
- WMP & Facebook Online Album issues rectified.
- Added RSS Tab & Facebook Tab by meltwater (Thanks very much meltwater) (removed since its development is on-going still)
- MS Facebook NOT installed on purpose; I use XDAFacebook
- Dictionaries & Pocket RAR in separate cabs
Enjoy!
[25Apr11]: Download & Enjoy!
More screen capture!
Another reserved for later use

Thanks buddy. I hope you enjoyed it
Thanks for the SPECIAL EDITION, Topaz 4.0 Gold.
My today clock has white background, but I like the black one as shown on the first screen capture on the first post (#1).
How can I do to get the black?
Landscape view not supported in most views due to the RSS Hub. You can still set your shortcut key for landscape view.
How can I set my shortcut?
thanks,

1. Google for homescreen, theme or clock and I am sure you will find more choices.
2. Settings>Personal>Buttons>change your desired shortcut key.
camera has 3 MPX ( can you do something about it? or give me a cab that resolves this problem
Only issue found so far is 3MP res. for the camera, where has 5MP gone.
That said otherwise its fast and very stable, battery life is the best I've had bar none, on a full charge this morning, its currently showing 80% !!!, all ROMs to date are down to 40% or less.

Wooppsss! Let me investigate and revert. Anyway, I am reluctant to downgrade the camera package to previous version as this version supports Facebook friends album view.
I too noticed the battery lasts longer than usual.
Sorry for the camera issue. Please bear with me and thank you for reporting.
EDIT: Tested BSBTweaks, but didnt work.
Camera 5mp & Carrier Name on Homescreen
The camera now supports 5mp and Carrier Name is on the home screen.
