Anybody knows a usable unlock application for X8 Android 1.6?
I have tried these applications:
. Lock 2.0 - good idea, but unusable and buggy

Pattern unlock is already present in settings..

Yes, there is unlock pattern but it is not a screen lock app, just a security solution.
I need a screen lock method, replaced the original.

When screen are locked, the left bottom button doesn't inactive. Thats the problem.
Any new recommendations now when we have reached the year 2011?

if you want a screen lock, on the market is one app, it's called lockbot
LockBot is awesome and its possible to set a own wallpaper
LockBot indeed. You can choose between iphone, galaxy S, x10, froyo or eclair unlockscreen style, or you can use all of them. It changes everytime you unlock your x8

there are 585 iphone lockscreen in lockbot gallery theme. It could be one of them.

I think it is this app http://www.appbrain.com/app/widgetlocker-lockscreen/com.teslacoilsw.widgetlocker pretty handy but I found it draining a lot of battery

When I set the pattern in the settings menu, the dots are much smaller and cooler looking:

But when I actually unlock my phone using the pattern it looks like the stock ROM's unlock which is fat and ugly:
Is this because of the ROM or my theme?
Is there anyway I can get the dots from the 1st picture in my lockscreen?
Is there a way to remove the "emergency call" button removed? I know you can hide the clock/date through cm7 settings
I have CM7.1 by Grif with some ICS theme I found on the forum.
Sir, it's because of CM7.
All ROM's for ace which are based on CM7 usually have this problem.
As a workaround, you can try using apps such as "Go locker" from market.
PS - It is an app which will replace your current lockscreen with its own. Its customizable

Thanks. That's what I've been using as a replacement anyways.
Regarding lockscreen gestures, I noticed a sensitivity scale from 1-12. Does 1 or 12 mean I have to input more accurate patterns? Because I found that sometimes I can just randomly swipe the wrong gesture and yet the phone still gets unlocked.

I have set my sensitivity to 2, then higher you set then accurate you must draw you gesture, I am using only 2 because my unlock gesture is an X and It's really impossible to draw this symbol by swiping randomly.

Not sure if this is the right area, please feel free mods to move this post over to the right section.
Today I was at an event where taking pictures was very much needed. Not at all times however, so it meant a lot off "Phone on, lock pattern, camera, phone off, in pocket" etc. Unlocking the phone is slightly tiresome, however albeit essential for my workplace.
So! I've had a thought. Is there any current or possible modification(s) that can be made to the lock screen, when their is a PIN or pattern enabled, which could give access to certain apps straight from the lockscreen without the need to input the pattern or pin?
This would simply cut out the need to unlock the phone if all I need to so is shoot a video or picture. I also understand the need for their to be some form of extra security as a user could theoretically open the camera and then press the home screen and they are past the security however hypothetically speaking.. could this ever work?
I hope i managed to explain myself well enough there lol!!

There are plenty of lockscreens out there like milocker/magiclocker/widgetlocker that allow you to unlock straight to a camera/sms/phone, just don't think they work with a pin or pattern.
I use widgetlock from the market it can be customised to suit your every whim lol

milocker'm using now and it works pretty well that mentioned above are good options
Another vote for WidgetLocker here; it's really easy to add a widget to the lockscreen that launches your preferred camera app.

Latest version is awesome compared to earlier ones.
I bought it ages ago and shelved it for jkay and go locker but I installed it again last week and it's really come a long way.

Just tested this - if you have PIN security set up then you still need to enter the PIN even if you're starting the camera app from the widgetlocker screen.
Hmmm.. might be time for me to look into some coding!

Is it possible to make the camera and lock icon not appear by default?
I think whats happening is that the power and home button simulate a touch on the screen, hence the camera and lock icons appear after and the ripple from the center icon. Thats just ,y theory but it would be nice to have only the center button appear on screen on.

Thanks for the effort.
I, too, have spent hours on learning about framework just to solve this. I decompiled both yours and CM9's framework to do a Windiff. Most files were same with minor differences that shouldnt affect the lockscreen behavior. There were also newer but visually equal png files in CM9 but that too should not cause any problems.
What I have concluded, therefore, is that the problem is not in framework-res.apk but in framework.jar. I know nothing about java and may be too stressful to learn yet another protocol for this lockscreen problem. However, if you know java, maybe you can look into it.
My observation is that on boot, the lock screen shows up without the unlock and camera icons. Only when power button or home buttons waking the screen does the icons appear, and usually between 0-100 ms after the screen is on, which means there is something to do with how the phone wakes and how either button can trigger the same response as a touch on the screen.

I'm using it now, I believe its still in a beta form or something. When you lock the phone you actually have to unlock it twice because it still gives you the both lock screens. But the op is in the general section

Yes sometimes unlock twice but i feel this is the best i seen till now.. I uninstalled Apex launcher.. Its actually for non MIUI roms.
It only supports of ICS 4.0 roms..

That's because you have two lockscreens enabled. Either disable the CM9 lockscreen (settings/security/lockscreen) or disable MiHome Lockscreen (in MiHome settings). Other than that, it works great on CM9---Moto Bravo Quarx CM9 2012\05\06.
I think its a nice launcher.

Now i am getting only one lock i dont know how it..
In MIUI launcher activate one key locker or check only miui locker .. Hope this resolve.. Starting i unlock double time now i doing only 1 time..
Still not resolved uninstall and re install.. Hope this helps..

Hey xda! What I'm trying to do here is to set my home screen live wallpaper (which is muzei) to be displayed on my lock screen, however it seems impossible on xperia devices. Is there any workaround to do this without downloading another lockscreen app?
EDIT: After checking out some other threads, some of you said that there is way to do this by modding the lockscreen apk myself. Can anyone point me to a guide?

Hey khemist92,
I tried every module plus combinations of tools and it didnt worked for me.
But the App Holo locker (lite/free) can "copy" the life wallpaper / Background to the Lock screen.
I am using a Galaxy pack as life background and managed with one click to use this as locker background.

Xperia Xposed does the job perfectly. Using the aosp lockscreen does the trick

Hey! I'm going to assume that you are familiar with the Xposed framework here. This is the module I'm using

Just simply get it from the Xposed installer or from the thread I linked. Install and enable the module and restart. After that go to the settings of the module (xperia Xposed app ) go the lockscreen settings and enable the aosp lockscreen and restart the phone. Now the background of your homescreen will be the same on the lockscreen. I hope that helps!

Hmm I don't understand why it's not working for you. Whatever wallpaper I set just becomes my lockscreen background, including live wallpapers.
just freeze or uninstall "sonylivewallpapers" app , and the sony screen will use the desktop wallpaper, IT ALSO GETS RID OF THE FREAKING PARTICLES! . screenshot appended for proof
