android commander - Nook Color Themes and Apps

android commander works with nc, was able to install and uninstall apps, pull & & push files.
still needed to chmod the hosts file in terminal to get adfree working, would not delete otherwise had to replace.

p.s. i am in no way related or beholding to the developer, i just like it. works in 64bit unlike droid explorer.

droid explorer (PC)

any one tried using the droid explorer program on their vibrants to remove the bloat? i just tried though i successfully connected i cannot view my system folders. i hope camalot makes an update so we can easily remove all this crap from our phones
you can find it here :http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=558108
I haven't used the program to REMOVE the bloat, but i used droid explorer's SDK tools.. just use command prompt of adb.exe, I'll look for the guide and edit my post to include the link.. its fairly easy.
Edit: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=726637&highlight=bloatware
it'd be cd C:\Program Files\Droid Explorer\SDK\tools\
adb remount
.... and so on

thanks but thats to much typing. i used root explorer to remove most of the bloat, but i thought using droid explorer would make it easier than root explorer (its already easy)

typing for me is like nothing since i type massively fast already :X but glad to hear that you found an alternative way of doing it.. the one that fits you
I completely agree with Droid Explorer though.. I hope the next update will support the Vibrant.
Droid Explorer is open source, so if you know how to add Vibrant support.. thats another way of speeding it up.

The performance is definitely better with this version on the Atrix. I've attached a modded library that will allow you to view Hulu and other desktop-only sites. Unzip, push to phone, copy to /data/data/com.adobe.flashplayer/lib/libflashplayer.so. Use Dolphin HD, set user agent to Desktop, Plugins to Always. Enjoy.
Thanks pal

When you say copy too "libflashplayer.so", do you mean I overwrite that file? Because its not a folder. Im new too all this, so be nice, LOL.

so did you rename the mod file to what the stock file is named? I tried that and it told me I didn't have Flash installed so I went back to regular 10.2.

I posted a modified libflashplayer.so in the Galaxy Tab->Apps/Themes forum a while back. It's not 10.2, but it should be the latest non-tegra2 flash. Search for "hulu flash" and it should come up.

Sorry, I should have put a bit more detail into my post.
1. Install the 10.2 Flash version from the OP.
2. Once you download the attachment and unzip it, you'll have a libflashplayer_tegra_mod.so file. The stock file is named libflashplayer.so. You can either rename it on your PC and then adb push it to your phone, or push it as is and rename it while in an adb shell. Either way, just make sure it's named libflashplayer.so and gets copied to /data/data/com.adobe.flashplayer/lib.

Nook Netflix Fixer; Ad Blocker; Update 7/22/11

Changelog:
7/22/11
This is no longer needed. The new Netflix app works with no issues or fixes. Here is the link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1178312
7/17/11
Removed the USB Mounter feature; See Nook Color Tweaks.
Added support for different Nook Color setups. Emmc, Sdcard, ManualNooter
Put it on the market
7/4/11
Ad Blocker
USB Mounter - Mounts to /sdcard/USB. You must turn on USB host mode and have the device plugged in before using this utility. This will work even if you changed vold.fstab.
Failsafes - /system must be mounted to /dev/block/mmcblk0p1 for the emmc options to work or /system must be mounted to /dev/block/mmcblk1p3 for the sdcard options to work.
***********************************************
This is an app that will update your /system/build.prop file. It changes ro.product.manufacturer=bn to ro.product.manufacturer=HTC. It will also allow you to change it back. You must reboot for the change to take effect. This was designed for CM7. If it works for other devices or OSes, please post.
For SDCard users, DrSarcasmo has found a solution to get this to work. Update busybox. Here is his post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=15052326&postcount=77
I added another app to this thread call "Nook Odds and Ends". It has a Netflix fix and Ad Blocker. There are eMMC and SDcard options. Some SDcard users are still having problems. Report any issues so we can this working for everyone.
PS: I fixed the Exit option and added the chmod command for the SDCard option.

Anywho, yeah, I was editing bulid.prop with vi in a terminal, so this is much nicer. I was really close to just writing a shell script with sed in it but hadn't gotten around to it yet.
So now my upgrade process..
Install new nightly, boot it and let it boot up and make sure it's happy
Copy adblock hosts file to /system/etc
Run NetFlix Fix
Boot into CWM
Flash latest OC kernel
Profit
Great minds think alike. This is just a sed script wrapped in an apk.

The hosts file posted should work, for some reason the AdFree in the market doesn't work in CM7 on the NC, not sure exactly why, but yeah that'd be awesome if you could do like if -e ( "/sdcard/hosts.txt" ); then magic.
Will this work for CM7 running of SD card? Or only off emmc?
I use verygreen's SD card installer if it matters.
Oh and I second the hosts file since adfree won't work on (at least SD card versions) of CM7.
Much appreciated.
wonder if this works for 1.1 auto noot?
Thank you for this app.
While I had no problem using root explorer to edit the file, it is/was a little pain in the ass to do it nightly. Your contribution is appreciated.

Netflix Help
I'm running the latest Phiremod from EMMC and I've been unable to get Netflix to do much of anything other than tell me to check my network connection.
If anyone can tell me which ROM to run and which netflix apk to install with it so it will work that would be really appreciated, I've tried the fix file as well as manually editing the build.prop file
just have no clue why it isn't working for me
thank you very much in advance for any assistance you could provide.

[VIDEO] How to Change the Boot Animation on Cyanogenmod Android for HP Touchpad

You can follow these simple steps to change the original stock boot animation into something amazing.
I am using Root Explorer, which is a paid app in order to do this. If a free app can be used to do this process, please let me know!
Ummm...I posted this before in the G2 section, but GScript lite and the line
Dd if=/mnt/sdcard/splash.IMG of=/dev/block/mmcblk0pl9
Reboot
As a custom script with SU priveleges works fine for me. Just copy the IMG
file into sdcard root and execute the script. Works on my vision and TP. All free, just a wee bit of typing, and keeping a close eye on auto-correct.
Need to find the splash image location next.
Sent from my very "non-stock" TP.
Ok I was an idiot and accidently deleted my original Cyanogenmod animation. Any kindred spirit out there that would like to upload theirs?

[TOOL][Restore System Apks]

Optimus L9 APK Push Tool!!
First, all credit goes to kevev for putting this all together, and saving me from pulling my hair out
Instructions via kevev readme!
This script will automatically push apk files along with a shell script to your device
under /mnt/sdcard/external_sd/APKs. It will then run the shell script which will copy
the apk files to /system/app/ and change the file permissions to 644.
No warranty included!!
Use at your own risk!!
1.) Place all apk files in the "APKs" folder that you want installed in the /system/app/ folder on your rooted device.
2.) Connect device to your computer after installing the correct adb drivers.
3.) Enable "USB Debugging" on the device and wait for the driver to install.
4.) Run "PushAPKs.bat" and reboot your device when it finishes only if there are "NO" errors.
