[Q] App missing from Market -- need favor from u - Streak 5 Themes and Apps

I just updated my Streak to the 2.2 Froyo --- and when I tried to retrieve my recently purchased (for $29.99 )Slingplayer app from the Market, it was not there!
Would someone with a 2.2 Froyo check the Market, search for SLINGPLAYER and let me know if you see it there?
Much thanks!

slingplayer mobile €22,70

If you ever have problems finding items in the market -- if they are not available in your country, for example -- you can either use a VPN or the market enabler app.

http://www.appbrain.com/app/slingplayer-mobile/com.slingmedia.slingPlayer

Nothing works
Tried all these solutions slingplayer does not show up in market one my dell streak with froyo
ItSeems it is a protected app but I paid 30 bucks for it and want it back!

Have you tried looking on their website? They might have it there to download or a working link to the market?

Have you tried using erismarketfix from the market? worked for me, as I couldn't find my paid apps...

got froyo? Please do me favor!
Can you check the Market and see if Slingplayer is there for you?
It does not appear for me, despite the fact that when I had 1.6, I paid $29.99 for this app!!
Thanks!!

You need to go into the system and delete Dalvik Cache then market should be OK

I cleared Dalvik-cache but I am still missing many apps. Including slingplayer.
I am hesitant to try ErisMarketFix as it is made for the 2.1 Eris, can anyone confirm if it worked?

How did you clear the dalvik

Erismarketfix did not work
Erismarketfix did not restore slingplayer to my market.
Does anyone with 2.2 see slingplayer in the market? Anyone????

Sling is in the market just had a look the reason i ask how you cleared the cache is because when i updated apps were missing so i cleared dalvik using clockworkmod recovery and still apps missing so went into the system and manually deleted the dalvik and all aps are their now

I used Root Explorer, browsed to /data/dalvik-cache and deleted all the files in that folder. Then I restarted.
An other issue that may be related; I have rooted the phone but none of the terminal emulators I tried are requesting root permissions. Root explorer does, which is why I used it rather than command line.

Yes I can confirm that eris market fix is working on my 1.4.6 DjSteve rom (froyo 2.2)

woo woo! problem fixed!!!
I am now able to see Slingplayer and all protected apps in the Market on my Dell Streak with Android 2.2....
here's what i did:
1) edited build.prop
2) changed ro.build.fingerprint
3) changed to : ro.build.fingerprint=verizon/voles/sholes/sholes:2.1-update1/ESE81/29593:user/release-keys
This tricks the market to think the phone is running 2.1 -- and the market works!!

[Q] Market from firefox browser error

Hey guys, I've searched around and didn't find out an aswer to this...
You're aware that we can access the Market through Firefox/IE and download the apps directly to the moblie phone, right? Of course...
I had not tweaked my X10 until this weekend, I was able to do the downloading from browser thing with no problems. Then, I start usin Cyanogen 6.1.3 Gingerbread, from rendero, and the web-based Market do not recognize my cell anymore, already logged out and logged in again, had tried many different procedures and the thing just doesn't work.
Any ideas? Ty
EDIT1: yes, I use the same account logging from cell and from web-based market. The 3 possible errors the 'web-market' (let's call it this way) I've already checked and it's none of them. The 'cell-market' is working just fine.
Anybody?

Hbo go on 2.3.4

So I use hbo go alot for my commute and just upgraded to nayvalants cherryrom 2.3.4. Hbo go doesn't show up on the market anymore, not compatible anymore, so I restored a backup from titanium. It works fine until I go to load a video and ut just keeps loading. Any ideas if its because of compatibility issues or is there someway to fix?

If it helps eliminate some theories:
I'm on OTA 2.3.4 , HBO Go not in market, but had it installed already previously. Plays videos fine.
Maybe try uninstalling and re-backing up ..
or it could be specific to nayvalants rom?
Some people have been reporting that apps are missing in the Market after flashing to 2.3.4.
Also, are either of you using the new leaked Market?
If so, this will cause data connection drops, and can show files as downloading for long periods before they time out.
If you are on the new Market, suggest you revert back by Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > All > select Market > select Uninstall Updates.

Regular market.
Its on Market version 3.0.26 which i assume is the new version since it has a completely new look to it. If it is the new one, its the one that came installed with the rom. What are you recommendations?
eh? do i have to install the old version of market? what version # is that?

No, I'm on the old market version and HBO GO is not on there for me via 2.34 OTA. I have it from when I was 2.2.2
Not in the market for me, either. Ken's beta 4.5, AT&T. Didn't there used to be a market enabler somewhere? I'm betting AT&T blocks it.

is there a way to downgrade the market to the old version? the new market wont let me dl anything anymore, says there is not enough room on the device...
Not blocked just may not be 2.3.4 compatible

search online for the latest .apk youll find it and manually install it. still works HBO just needs to update their app but im guessing that wont happen till we get an official gingerbread release
anyone know where to get the old vending.apk? I can't find one.
I upgraded to nayvalant's 1.1 with the old market and HBO still doesn't show up in the market. I restored my backup of HBO and it still doesn't work. Guess it truly isn't compatible with 2.3.4
Works fine for me...

I posted it wasn't a matter of old vs new market. It doesn't show up at all.
It DOES work though, just doens't show up in market. Works perfectly fine on 2.3.4 so maybe it's a nayvalant thing where it doesn't play for you.
and the reason for not posting a link to the 1.03 version ?!?!
i hav 1.02 might be the reason.
not gonna share the link??

I don't have a link... but I flashed samcripp's ninja rom today and HBO GO shows up when I search in the market. It's either ninja rom or the HBO app updated to show up in 2.3.4 market. Try a search again.
Just installed ninja rom and HBO works and appeared in the market. Must just be something specific navalynt's rom. Thnx!

[Q] Words with Friends broken since TW Update

Ever since I updated WWF after the TW update, I get an error connecting to the servers and can't play any games. I have tried a forced close and clearing cache. anyone else having problems with this? If so, does anyone have any solutions?
Thanks

That and I can receive chat messages but I can't send them.

How did you guys get the version from the market to update the TW version? When i go out to the Market "Open" is the only option I get.
when you go into settings>applications what version do you have installed? I am running 3.61
Mine shows up as 3.59. Funny thing is that the Market version says 3.61 but "open" is the only option I get.

Mine is version 3.59 as well.
Same issue when I go to the market.
I just emailed the dev.
When are these adds going to be dealt with?

Naked, work was blocking the download. After getting impatient I tried logging into the Android market on my PC and forcing an install on my tablet. It worked like a charm! I am now running 3.61. I am testing it now, but I have yet to get an error.

Sweet, glad you got it working. Good idea on doing the web page market and forcing the upgrade. I'll keep that in mind in the future.
I have seen often programs not able to update properly when they are located /system/app. Since the it was part of the upgrade to TW, they have it located there.
The install from Market worked great for me as well.
Never knew you could do that.

TripleTapper, can you please explain more? Now do you "force install" from the market? It just tells me that my Nook Color is incompatible with the app, and the buttons are greyed out.
Thanks.
I just opened the Market using the browser on my PC. When I do that and search for Words for Friends I click on install. It then gives me an option to install onto my various Android devices by selecting it from a pull down. My Galaxy Tab comes up as Samsung GT-P7510.
Words has been working flawlessly now! : )

[Q] Word With Friends

I had Words with Friends on my Nook that was running Phiremod 6.1
It was working fine up until yesterday. I didnt update anything. When I opened WWF it said there was an update and it took me to the android market website where it said that the app was not compatible with my nook. I uninstalled it and tried to install it again but now I dont have the option to install it. Anyone else having the same issues?
same here im running phiremod 6.3 i even found an apk cause it wont download in market.im hoping WWF fixes this..
Same here - I'm running CM7. I'm hoping Zynga fixes this.
Yes I am having the same issues , running cm7 off sd card . When I open the words with friends it opens a window to update, I cant get around it. When I do try to update it it sayes the color nook is incompatiable . And yet it wont let me not update. All my family have ipod touchs and iphones and havent had this issue .
Same problem as well. Running Phiremod Nook v7 TEST. I installed the APK from the XDA site originally, but it seems like that version has now been blocked by Zynga - I get the update dialog that I cannot dismiss.
Tried uninstalling, but now I can't even open the APK from the links here to reinstall.
Settings- applications- find market- uninstall updates- download it with the old market.

That fixed it. Uninstalling the Updates to the Market did the trick. For some reason the new market doesnt allow a bunch of apps to work with a modified Nook.

The old Market trick works. You have to be quick though, else it updates again and you have to go through it again.
thank you I am back up running the words with friends with the old market
Reverting back to the old Market , allowed me to download game from market . All is well now . Thanks
Is there an APK floating around that i can send someone?
so there is no way to get it without reverting back to the old market? :-/

You could also change your dpi to 160 and then delete market data to continue to use the new market but it will eventually go back to the way it is now and you'll have to clear market data again.

Android market no connection problem

I've got a DROID x2 rooted with eclipse 1.3 installed. Usually once a week I get to a point where the market app wont let me access anything. All it says is "no connection" this is with WiFi on and the WiFi works fine as I can browse the web and use all other internet connected apparently.
Usually uninstalling the market updates remedies this, but yesterday I opened the market app and got this same problem. After uninStalling the updates, the whole Apk, rebooting, installing different market versions, and all kinds of combinations of those things, thE market STILL WON'T WORK!!!!!
can anyone help? I'd really appreciate it!

Ok, Let's see.
Uninstalling the market app updates is not really the resolve to fix this.
What was the path you took to get on the eclipse rom? (previous build etc)
When did you first notice it do this?
You mentioned that it occured with Wifi on. Does this happen without the wifi?
I would clear the market data and cache. If that don't work I would do a factory reset. That usually fixes most issues.

Yes this error occurs with WiFi off, but at that point there really is no connection as my phone has a bad esn and I keep airplane mode on permanately.
To flash eclipse I and restored from stock 2.3.5 then I rooted using psouza's one click root and then I installed bootstrap recovery and flashed the eclipse 1.3 zip file with bootstrap

Ive had a similar situation happen where occasionally I cant download anything on my phone and on my Moms phone. I dont mess with uninstalling updates or anything. When this happens... I just clear cache, Force close and restart the phone and most of the time it fixes it for whatever reason.
I have the same problem. I know it stems from having 2 copies of my Droid X2 listed in the Android Market. I cleared cache, even reinstalled OS rooted and unrooted and it is still the same. There is another theory is that if you have Amazon App store there is a conflict with authentication of some apps they have in common. I even have App Brain and it will not do a batch install, all it does is tell me what apps are out of date and one by one install the update from the market. It had better be fixed soon. I know this is a market issue with not my or my phone's fault. My Xoom updates fine, so does my Droid X1.
And how come there are NO custom ROMS for the Droid X2?

What? Have you actually looked or are you assuming this? There are custom ROMs for the X2 and they've been around for months:
Eclipse
Liberty3
Molten
Go to the Android X2 Development Forums: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1175 and you'll see more ROMs in there, but the three I listed are the most popular.

I believe you can change the build prop for market to 2.3.4 instead of 2.3.5 I believe ibolski has afix in eclipse thread.
I would ask nitro, the ROM developer.
I have had problems with certain apps not being compatible but now I just back them up in titanium and restore from there.
