P500 Sources - Optimus One, P500, V General

Anybody got his hands on the sources for our phone firmware?
I tried but didn't have any luck. I sent two emails to LG Italia, but they didn't answer. I also spoke twice to LG Italia customer care by chat: they told me that they don't have the source code and that I should ask Google instead of LG. This is hilarious.
Any suggestion? What am I supposed to do now? As many of you already know, there is no doubt that they are required to release at least the kernel sources.

highly illegal... I guess you could contact gplviolations?

They are required to give you the sources for the gpl'd components, kernel included. And when I say "they" I mean LG, not Google: the persons you've chatted with didn't know what they were talking about. As zorxd said, you could report the alleged violation to gpl-violations.org.

Very, very secret info))
LG.com > Support > Open Source > LGKU3700

Not on my lg.com it isn't.
Care to post the url to LG's open source repository? There's no way to reach it from the european localized LG.com pages as far as I can see.

Many thanks.
Anyway, it's fascinating how a forum not affiliated to LG answers more quickly than their customer care.

This is the URL to the sources:

LGKU3700 = LG P500 = LG Optimus One ???

I, too, wonder about the naming... are you sure? Normally they refer to the Optimus One as LGP500

Add su370 for the names...and maybe the P503 (the micro sd card location is different, mas the rest seems equal..and I heard it runs flash )

Correct. Optimus One = SU370 = LU3700 = KU3700 (in Korea and China) = P500 (elsewhere). Some sort of LG's marketing games

I think this site is the easiest way of getting download links to the latest firmware (of ALL LG smartphone models):
http://www.smartphenom.com/2013/01/lg-firmware-update-central-beta.html
Enter phone model and your country and the tool will present you links to directly download the latest firmware from LG's webservers
For download links to older firmware versions you'll still need to visit mentioned blocked site
---------- Post added at 12:21 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:14 AM ----------
Well it doesn't give you the direct link to LG's servers, but redirects to them without interference.
For example:
It presented a link for Europen Open firmware with this url:
http://media.smartphenom.com/php/lg...try=NL&token=d8bf5484c6d5c67ae0065a0f677d889e
Pressing that link will redirect you, so you'll download the file from:
http://csmgdl.lgmobile.com/swdata/WDLSW/LGE610/ANLDBK/V20d_00/V20D_00.kdz
Thanks a lot for this link!.
BTW, http://lg-phone-firmware.com/ is up and going.

Thanks a lot for your warning, but I don't think I did something against this forum rules.
As I see it, these 2 rules may apply to what you suggested:
(11.5.b.) the site is a relatively small personal website without commercial advertising/links (i.e. not a competitor forum-based site with purposes and aims similar to those of XDA-Developers.com.)
(13) Commercial advertising, advertising referral links, pay per click links and other income generating methods are forbidden. Do not use xda-developers as a means to make money.
Click to collapse
As for 11.5.b. - the link I provided isn't linking to a competitor forum-based site. Moreover, it isn't a forums-based site at all.
And as for 13 - I'm not using xda-developers as a means to make money, and be sure I have no connection to this site. I got it from here from some topics, and I think it's for the best that others will know about it, as it helps others to get their stock firmware.
The fact that in order to download their firmware that site links to adfly isn't my benefit in any way whatsoever.
To conclude, I don't think I done anything wrong. Quite the opposite - I tried to help others.
However, I'm appreciating your warning, as I could have done something wrong - and in that case your help would be a great benefit for me.
Thanks a lot!

Yes indeed they are cheap in price as compared to international versions but in quality i find them better. Roms support for korean phones can only be found in Vietnamese forum. Like i am using RadeonMaya rom in F460, best of its kind. Kindly translate important topics like rooting, recovery, flashing, other issues which are on lgviet forum and post it here, will be highly appreciated.

Maybe it's having to do with nexus 5 modules, where some are not the same as G2, and maybe that is causing problems?
Don't we need specific binaries and blobs for our device?

I can say that you were wrong base rom. Because you're so complicated life, you have to fill the power command after boot animation. You were wrong some trivial step, you have to thunder back.
P.S It is an exceptional work, the finished project looks.

Then make sure it is actually released!
Most of the manufacturers here in the U.S. don't like to give up sources very easily Samsung is known for this & can make building for them very scattered.....
However I can't speak for Micromax as I've never owned anything they're known for, but if your device is newer than 3 to 9 months old it could still be sourceless, in that case you'll have to email Micromax....

You can debug it.
But, you can't to convert into source again.
Here, you can see the source code of a generic LK: https://github.com/littlekernel/lk
Here, you can see the source code of a lk for (Xiaomi) MI 2/MI 2S/MI 2A devices: https://github.com/MiCode/mi2_lk

I have no knowledge about that.
You have to discover by yourself.
Good luck.

there is many tools for analyzing and disassambling ,like : binwalk , binary ninja , ghidra ....
but it needs more knowledge about ARM architecture and memory managment
I am trying little by little.

You can debug only.
You will never get the original source code.
