Where do you find your wallpapers? - Nook Color Themes and Apps

I find a zillion 1024x600 wallpapers online but 600x1024...not so much. Anyone have a good site for that?

interfacelift.com I find that 1280x1024 work best because it spans all 3 screens. 1024x1024 also work well.

i cant get anything to look right using Zeam. All the wallpapers are super zoomed-in. Hmm.

Good (well not good), so it's not just me...
Edit: after testing other launchers, I don't think it's Zeam-related. Even the BN launcher makes all of my (specifically resized) wallpapers look like crap.

Try setting the wallpaper while in landscape mode. Still not perfect, but MUCH better.

Thanks in advance.

Isn't the s3 resolution 720x1280? Where the width is smaller than the height???

I think it's cause, when you have more homescreens, there's more space for pictures, meaning there's virtually more pixels if you add the homescreens together.
If you used a 1280 x 720 picture just for one homescreen or the lockscreen it would fit perfectly.
Check my siggy for wallpapers for the GS III.
1440 x 1280 is the correct size (if you use scrolling wallpaper.)

Nice one
Is there anyway to download all of them without having to do it individually ?
EDIT: Never mind, just finished scrolling through to the last page and found the .ZIP with all of them

Since this link also comes up when Google searching this issue, I will correct this misinformation here as well.
Make your image 1280x1280 NOT 1440x1280. If fits perfectly. The cropper has a predefined proportion. It is square.
If you have a 1440x1280 wallpaper it will still work, you'll just have a little bit of the left and right edges of the image cropped out.
Look at your GS3 default wallpapers that come with the phone. They are all perfect square images. And when you pick an image to make it your wallpaper, notice the cropper is a perfect square. It is not some wide proportion made for 1440x1280.

Using any launcher other than Touchwiz. 1440 x 1280 is the PERFECT size for the GS3 and ANY other phone with 720p screens.
I don't have any bits 'left over' in my crop box.

One might take note that this IS a Samsung Galaxy S3 thread.
At least now we can consider this silly debate over and no one will heretofore enter this thread to speak of a resolution other than 1280x1280.
I don't use the Touchwiz Launcher. I use Nova Prime. The Touchwiz framework is what is responsible for this 1280x1280 wallpaper size. I don't have an AOSP ROM on my phone right now to verify your statement, but it would seem that any touchwiz-based ROM will use a 1280x1280 wallpaper.

I am using a Touchwiz based ROM with Nova Launcher. (Reading my signature would have told you that much....) I don't have to crop any of my 1440 x 1280 wallpapers.
@Baldilocks I use your wallpapers. You're awesome!
1440x1280 for scrolling. Even Nova Launcher 2.0 beta agrees.

As I've said 1440x1280 will work fine on our phones. 95% of the people will never notice that parts of the wallpaper are getting cropped out. As these most recent posts evidence. Heck Baldilocks doesn't even notice the cropping and he is MAKING wallpapers.
But in terms of "getting a good fit" as this thread title suggests, the GS3 will only display 1280x1280 for scrolling wallpapers. Just take one of the 1440x1280 wallpapers you like and draw a little dot on the left and/or right edge of the wallpaper. Then notice how you will not be able to see it when you set that image as your wallpaper.
It's no big deal. I just posted this information for anyone who has the desire to make their own wallpaper and dictate exactly where things will appear on their phone's screen. The fact that Baldilocks gets the height right (1280) is all that really matters. You can make a wallpaper 2000x1280 and it is still going to look perfect on our phones. If the height is 1280 the phone won't have to resize the image. It will display the the pixels perfectly, it will just have to discard some of the width of the image.

You want 720x1280 and not 1280x720
The "double size" (1440x1280) might also help with scrolling Touchwiz or some other stuff, but you will see it looks just fine in most places with 720x1280 fixed.

HD Clock Widgets? HD Wallpapers? Too Much Low Res

Best part about the Note 2 is the awesome screen! However, one of my biggest issues is lack of high resolution content ! Seems like 95% of wallpapers, and clock widgets are low resolution and it drives me nuts. Any tips on where to get higher resolution widgets or wallpapers? Zedge is terrible, PicSpeed is O.K. but not great. Any others?
Have you tried HD Widgets from the Play Store? Or Beautiful Widgets?

For wallpapers, someone in the "screenshots of your note II" shared this:
www.ilikewallpaper.net/iPhone-5/Wallpapers/
Much easier than finding images that are at least 1280 in height and cropping, which I was doing before.
Beautiful Widgets is pretty terrible also. Like 95% of the skins are very low res.
I havent tried the wallpapers, but do those any work if you choose not to have your wallpaper scroll as you scroll homescreens? I thought the android wallpapers needed to be wider than they are tall for the best scrolling effect.

What do you mean scrolling wallpaper? Mine does not have that feature, I thought they got rid of the scrolling wallpapers. I really want that feature back I hate having the static wallpaper its boring. The wallpaper selector gives you a cropping outline which shows 3 rectangles, with the left and right sides as if it still does the wallpaper scrolling but it doesn't.

Yes I use multi picture live wallpaper so my wallpapers need to be 720 width and 1280 height. The ones in that site work great.

My bad - it looks like you are right (at least with regard to the Touchwiz launcher). I had to switch temporarily to TW launcher to check this.
I am running Nova Launcher - which does allow for scrolling wallpapers.
I came from the OG Droid, to the Galaxy Nexus, and then to the GN2. This is my first non "google experience" phone. Even my Nexus 7 tablet has scrolling wallpapers with the default launcher - but that tablet is running Paranoid Android. Not sure what the stock Jellybean launcher behavior is...

Is there any good nexus 10 wallpapers

I have tried downloading apps and getting pictures off the internet that are at 2560x1600 but they are all blurry. The only good ones are the default ones built-in. Is there any place to go to get wallpapers that are not blurry?

Try 'Pattrn'. The quality on the 10's screen is fantastic.
Wallpaperswide.com and use the simple image wallpaper app to set them as wallpaper.

Dont listen to the above, you'll always have cropping issues and it'll look horrible if you use 2560x1600 because Android wallpapers scroll and are meant to look good in both landscape and portrait. Ideally, you should use images that are exactly 3966x2560. There aren't a lot of those out there, however. What I've been doing until more become available is Google's image search, using the Search Tools option to limit the results to images exactly or larger than 12MP (4096x3072). Scaling an image down will look much better than scaling up, and using anything below 3966x2560 will do just that.
Edit: Sorry, I skimmed the other replies before writing this. technician42's suggestion for the Pattrn app is actually a really good one. The others though... as I said, anything less than 3966x2560 will give you a bad time.

Not 100% true.
So don't disregard the links above as they're perfectly useful and I have many wallpapers that are 2560x1600 that aren't cropped on my N10. Use an app called Simple Image Wallpaper Free in conjunction with wallpapers from the above links, or with any other 2560x1600 images you find. The app is actually a "live wallpaper" but there is nothing live about it. From within the settings check "fill screen" and the app will make sure there is no cropping of the image. If you are so inclined you may also choose different images for landscape and portrait. One thing to note, your wallpaper will not scroll if you use this. Enjoy.

The problem with this approach is, unless the wallpaper doesn't rotate with the tablet, it would look horrible in portrait mode (or Landscape if you used a 1600x2560 image). You cant fill 2560 of height with 1600 without ugly stretching.

I see what you're saying, but the wallpaper doesn't rotate with the screen, so it doesn't stretch. One downside is that some of what you see in landscape mode won't be seen in portrait, but I rarely use my tablet in portrait anyway.
Simple image wallpaper pro lets you choose a different wallpaper for portrait. I can't stand the scrolling wallpaper. First thing i turn off, and its MUCH easier finding good wallpapers. 2560 x 1600 is the right resolution for a non scrolling, one screen wallpaper. Looks great. Oh, just discovered yesterday that recent nova launcher update will let you crop and set non scrolling wallpapers. Woot!

The official AOKP from Steve Spear has this feature built into his ROM.
The easiest way to find wallpaper that you don't have to crop is Google images and use the Exact Size feature (priceless feature btw)
Search for whatever ("wallpaper" being a good start)
Search Tools
Drop down that says "Any Size"
Choose "Exactly"
Enter in the HxW you want in pixels..
I use screen captures from Minecraft. You can get some pretty cinematic effects in Minecraft using optifine. I have some nice pictures that have been featured on my homescreen. For example, a cave system or setting sun.

Screen resolution/wallpaper issues

Hi all...
I bought one of those touchpads for $99 and finally got around to loading CM9. Very happy with it but having problems with wallpapers. TP resolution supposed to be 1024 x 768, but wallpapers that size are way too large. If I understand it properly, it may have to do with different dpi for WebOS vs Android. Any tips please?
Thanks in advance.
there's no option to apply wallpaper without cropping so I use picseed from the play store to apply wallpapers and it works well for me...hope that helps.

Thanks, will try.
Two options for setting wallpapers without having it zoom in are multipicture live wallpaper and I believe wallpaper wizdrini(I may have misspelled that, lol). I've used multipicture live wallpaper and it makes the wallpapers look much better that the default app does. Haven't tried wizdrini on the touchpad yet, but it gives fine control over exactly how the wallpaper will work on my other tablets, it should work for the touchpad. If you try it, please let me know how well it works.
Wallpaper wizardrii works pretty good and has more options for cropping or not.

You can also download Apex Launcher. Even if you don't use the launcher the wallpaper cropper which comes with it (will appear last on your list when trying to apply a wallpaper from any launcher) works quite well. Sort of a what you see is what you get thing.
In order for the image to appear correctly in both portrait and landscape mode, one needs an image of 2560x2560, correct?
