Long time reader first time poster; I've got this fantastic phone, been playing with it for a while. I installed HSPL as soon as I got it, with a new stock ROM to unlock it. I had problems making phonecalls where the voices were garbled, so I tried a different radio ROM which fixed it. I've since been through about four radio ROMs trying to fix this new issue.
I send a SMS, and it shows as sent in the phone, but doesn't get recieved. A couple of days later, all the SMS that were "pending" will be sent at the same time, leading to some fairly confusing replys. Any ideas? Should I try a new ROM?
If I try a new ROM, will my SPB backup restore my data correctly?

I own a hermes (cingular 8525) and two days ago my sound just died. I mean the start up won't work, rings, etc.. but when i dial or receive a call it works. I also have Schaps 4.0 when this occurred. I flashed the new Schaps 4.2 sound worked then after a while just stopped again....yes i am new to forums so please don't rip me a new one if i placed this in the wrong spot...Thank you for your time reading this and your help if possible

Are you deleting any files off those ROM's? I know I had this problem when i deleted PIM VOL from the ROM...
Hi, now before you all call me lazy for not reading up on it, I have spent a good hour but am still none the wiser.
I don't get alot of time to keep ontop of the info in this forum due to work.
I have been using schaps 4.3 for some time, and recently it has started to play up (not seeing SD card, very slow, takes ages to start ringing when someone calls me - sometimes I miss calls because of it).
I think its time to change as there are also a few features that I miss with this rom..
I need a rom that works well with exchange (push/pull) and dosn't forget my passwords every 5 minutes like the schaps rom.
I need the rom to have working video calling.
So who's/which Rom would be best for me?
Also I'm on Vodafone UK - can anyone recommend the best radio rom?
I very much appreciate anyones help.

It seems that sense locks up every time I want to establish a connection to twitter or youtube (facebook too?); it also happens when I want to receive new tweets and so on...
The first time it happened yesterday with RideTheTube's 7pOS which worked without problems for weeks before! I performed some hard resets - the problem was still there.
Then I tried using Task29, flashing Radio 2.10.50.28_2 and re-flash the ROM but the problem occured again. Then I tried different ROMs:
- HD2O
- ChuckyROM
All had this issue, I'm no longer really able to use my phone
Is anyone else facing that problem or has a possible solution?

Strangely after flashing a new rom on the phone a couple of hours ago(went from VBN black to dutty cdlc v9) my twitter tab now works fine, auto update and manual without crashing sense.
Dont think it was rom dependant but I didnt think of re-flashing the same rom as I am a bit of a flash-o-holic
Hi guys, I'm sorry my first post had to be a question but I am stumped. I tried searching but mine seems to be an isolated problem.
My LG Optimus One has a slight problem, it can't make calls, send messages and perform other sim-specific functions... If I try to make a call I get instant call ended, sms won't send out and I can't perform Sim toolkit stuff... I have three sim cards of all our carriers here in the philippines and all of them have the same problem so I'm ruling out sim card as a problem.
Now I tried default stock roms for 2.2, 2.2.1 and 2.2.2, same tried void echo, devoid franco and miks cm7, same... Everything else works, wifi, browsing, ebooks, music, videos, camera everything... just those sim-specific functions.
Any idea on what to do? before I sell my unit cheap
PS: Yes I always wipe everything before installing custom ROMS. The whole shebang, I also tried mik's format system zip.

Unless you have messed with the Russian upgrade and screwed your baseband... sorry to tell you the bad news, but the phone is faulty.
Nope I didn't fiddle with the russian gb, I figured it was a faulty phone... anyway thanks for the answers

Yessir, the other night it was working fine, I even sent a text message then the next day zap...
The upgrade option came up late last night so I did it, I'm on Bell in Canada. After update was complete I can no longer text message. I only have the stock messaging software. If I try to start it all I get is a blank white screen with the messaging title at the top left. I tried downloading textra but it was stuck in setup forever so I uninstalled it.
I don't know or understand how to root, unlock, or flash, nor do I really have the time as I'm crazy busy at work. Does anyone have a solution? Texting is all I do on my phone, it's useless without this functionality. Please help!!!

I had the same thing after the upgrade.
After installing some other SMS apps and few restarts, it started to work but all messages are lost.
I'm trying to find a way to recover them...
