[Dec 15][SD]Moto-Mytouch 4G V0.4alpha[Kernel hastarin r8.5.3] - HD2 Android SD Development

I have been wondering for awhile why no one was working with this ROM anymore. I really like the UI and it is perfect for those on T-Mobile. Since I have not heard anything from M-deejay about his Glacier build (He's probably working on Android 2.3) I figured we could come together to get this thing running perfectly. When booting up please keep in mind where the Desire HD builds came from and where they are now. They were TERRIBLY laggy at first and now they run really smooth. I have tried to keep this relatively stock with a few graphical changes that were to my liking. I also fattened up the system.ext2 file (around 50mb extra) so it will give us plenty of room to play around with. I will trim everything down when more things are fixed. Any devs and testers willing to help?
What's NOT working?
- Wifi calling (I removed it for now, it was taking up a HUGE amount of memory)
- You tell me?
What is working?
- 5mp camera with flash & face detection now works
- Mostly everything (Please let me know if you find something that isn't so we can work to get it fixed)
- Most of the new T-Mobile apps should work now (Most require Wifi)
Fixes & tips
- If you have any data issues and are on T-Mobile, go into "Wireless & networks" and choose the other APN that is in the list.
- To get 7 home screens instead of the 5 that comes stock, go into settings>>personalize and change "Home screen pages".
Things to know!!!!
- You might (possibly) notice things lagging a bit, and if you find something that is causing any of it please let me know. Thanks!
- If you find something wrong or find something that will benefit the ROM please let me know too. If people want to do this I will add a list at the bottom with who fixed what (that's only fair)
***The main things I need help with are***
(1) If you find something that may be causing the lag, please let me know
(2) For some reason HSDPA seems to be stuck on all the time (at least for me) so if you see what is wrong please let me know, it may just be because its a 4G ROM.
***First boot setup***
- After you boot up and log into everything in the setup, please wait until the sync icon in the status bar goes away to unlock the phone. Even after this you will notice some lag because if you like it or not the build will install all your apps from the market so this can take some time. After everything is done syncing and installing everything, please reboot your phone. When you boot back up you should be good to go but PLEASE don't unlock the phone until the sync icon goes away on first boot.
If upgrading from V0.3 you should be able to keep the same data.img

Cheers motoman234 and vua777! I'd love to see a fully functioning MyTouch version running on the HD2. That said, I made sure to give this thread a 5 star rating immediately.
Please keep up the great work motoman234, and many thanks again for everything.

Personally i like more of the design MyTouch than Desire HD i hope that the motoman to make a good rom for us...

Looking forward to testing Glacier out on my device.

if you're having a wifi bug it could be either
1. permission
2. kernel mismatch
camera is probably based on libs...are you using the nexus 1 or desire libs? the latter SHOULD work
finally wifi calling is not going to work...at least for now since its kernel dependent

would like to test. Really looking forward to this build getting updated. I was anxiously looking forward to mdeejays updated build.

Not going to lie, MDjs thing where he put up his updated build, never to actually put it up was an epic tease. So far this has been the ROM I have most enjoyed. If you need help testing and finding issues, I would gladly help.

Thanks for this!
Love this build.
If need testers count me in.

will test
if u need testers i got u

That looks great man. I always that was mt4g ui was good but I what you have done with it looks great.
I could help you test but I would only be able to do extensive testing during the weekends. I need a reliable phone for work through out the week. Either way Im looking forward to this build

big thanks, we all appreciate this

Alright guys, I am fixing to upload right now. Lets iron out some bugs

I would like to help in testing as well. I am becoming a fan of Android using these awesome builds you guys work hard on and share with us....

This is actually a nice ROM despite the graphical issues
Blasphemy!!!
Seriously, the video thing is real annoying.
Back to Modaco R21 Desire. Hopefully the Froyo Sense build gets over to the N1 soon. The MFlops on Lindpack are crazy compared to the sad 6.8 I get with R21 Modaco.
Paul is finalising his port at the moment, i cant wait to see what he has cooked up for us Im sure paul wont release it untill he has made it stable and feature packed

Apparently Paul has got HTC flashlight working and FM working (which means BT is also working)
Exciting times in the world of Sense!!
I have to admit I'm getting pretty anxious for a Froyo Sense Port. I've tried out king's and they are a good start but I am waiting to see what comes from him and Paul soon. One big issue with King's is that there is only 40 MB of space for programs. It's still cool that it's out as quick as it is. I hope they both continue working on it regardless, the more the merrier I say!
Funny to see you guys talking about Paul's ROM in this thread but whatever
Anyway, tried this ROM couple of days ago, very nice work but the graphical glitches drove me crazy... so back to LeoFroyo for me
Keep up the great work!

The FM Radio stems from IR's kernel support so creds should be shared between the two for that)

[Dec 17] EVO Carbon Remix V0.6 [Kernel=hastarin r8.6]

In version 0.6 I am using hastarin's 8.6 kernel. Kernels and builds react different to everyone depending on your setup, so if something doesn't work for you please let me know and I will fix it ASAP.
Evo Carbon Remix V0.6 Features
-New Evo base from V0.4 and on
-Loud sound (Use DSP manager is needed)
-Added animations
-Android 2.3 keyboard
-Nexus S live wallpapers
-New themed Android Market
-Riptide power bar in notification bar ( eg. like CM6.1, GPS, Wifi, Bluetooth, Cell data, flashlight and sound profile)
-3D flip clock

-MIUI Music app included
-Wifi should be fixed

-Using letama's new V0.7 ril wrapper for better data connection
-Multi-language
-3-7mA in standby for me
-No green tint in pictures
-Face detection working
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
What's working
-All things that are working in other builds should be, unless stated below
What's not working
-Everything should be now
FIXES & OTHER THINGS
(1) If you get 1 com.phone.android force close don't be worried, you should only see it once. After you do the reboot after first boot you shouldn't see it again.
(2) If you are on T-MOUS and are having MMS issues, see this for a possible fix http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=8981441&postcount=250
(3) If games such as "Angry Birds" will not install, please unmount your SD card then install then mount back after it has installed.
(4) To use either the themed keyboard or the Gingerbread keyboard just long press in the message field and select the keyboard you want.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
First boot setup
After you boot for the first time please wait about a minute and unlock the phone then reboot immediately or everything will not work correctly!!! Once it boots back up then set everything up normally.
I also always recommend using a new data.img when upgrading to a newer build, that way no weird problems come down the road. When people report bugs i can't always tell if this is the cause or not. So please, if reporting a bug, please tell me if you used an old data.img.

Sweeet! I always did love the Carbon M-deejay build and was saddened when he switched to the flat look of 1.2. The Carbon was the best looking of all of them.

I completely agree, It's themed quite a bit but at the same time it's mild and not too much. That's the main thing I love about the carbon themes . I plan on theming it more and more I just want to get idea's from other people so everyone will like it. So any apps or anything just let me know guys.
Also, if you guys don't like the battery icon let me know. It's always been my favorite and haven't seen this exact one in any HD2 builds yet so I thought I would.
good build but need to fix wifi hotspot
the build is stable but u need to fix wifi hotspot to work
at last people are starting to update the good stuff.
nice one motoman, just like mccm updating mdj's 2.2.1 build.
i'll try this one.

i'd like to see the black clock with white numbers... matbe even carbonize them if someone has the talent to theme it that way... that would definately add to it...

(3) To switch to 2G or any other use the included "network" app.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Installation
- Extract build to your desktop
- Place "Android" folder on the root of your SD card
- Unzip a data.img below in your "Android" folder (optional for faster first boot)
- With keypad lights on, run "CLRCAD.exe" then "haret.exe"
- First boot will take up to 10-20 minutes unless you used a data.img below
First boot setup
- I recommend waiting 5 minutes before unlocking the screen the first time on first boot. Everything seems to go a lot smoother that way.

There are 2 versions now. V0.4 Has the blue battery and has the clock mod to remove it from the status bar (see below for picture) and V0.4A has the clock in the status bar and also has the circle battery meter (see below for picture).

hi motoman,
will the cmd line "wifi.mac" work with mdeejay's kernel? I am asking because I would like to try this build but it has mdeejay's kernel and 4-6mA stand by is promising. I am always using hastarin's becuase the wifi mac change works for me.

Looks good. Thanks for your effort and sharing.
just to update, wifi.mac works. At least I can use the real mac address. Tint fix works for me.
@Moto, no heat intended, do you have, by any chance a comparison between MCCM's update of this same build of mdeejay?
thanks,

Glad it worked for you. As far as the changes go, I'm not sure all what he did besides kernel fixes but I changed some graphics and tweaked a few things to the build itself (to my preference, not saying it's better by any means). If you booted both you should be able to tell overall. Everyone has there own idea of modding and customizing builds, you know? I wouldn't of released it if it was the exact same thing. I think he likes to keep everything the way it looks, which is good too. Just giving people options

Yep! This was one of my all time favorites too so I thought I'd share! I just hope people don't think that I am trying to start some contest with mccmjoon76 or something lol. You shouldn't even be able tell they are from the same Inc build soon. All the credit goes to M-deejay since he was the original creator of the Inc build for the HD2 as far as I know. I respect both of their work.
By the way, I checked our dropbox and you did some really awesome work with those digits. I updated our conversation text.
Hi, how did you get your battery indicator?

This is a build based on M-deejay's froyo INC build with some graphic and system tweak changes done. You may be asking what the difference between this and the other froyo INC builds out there. I try to customize my builds to make them look different from others. I was making this build for me to use but I figured it would be selfish if I didn't share

-Based on the Android 2.2.1 update
-Full 5mp camera with zoom
-PPP only
-Multilanguage
-Very loud sound
-DSP manager
-ril_wrapper from letama for better data connection
-Using M-deejays S6 kernel (Very stable for me)
-4-8mA in standby
-Updated graphics
-Added spare parts
-Removed all Verizon apps
-Removed most bloatware
-Others I am forgetting, will post them as I remember.
-A lot more features and changes to theme to come!
What's working?
-Everything that is working in other builds
What's not working?
-My only complaint is the camera still has the green tint.
FIXES & OTHER THINGS
A work around for the green tint in pictures is to go to camera settings and under "white balance" choose "Incandescent". I am aware of the build.prop fix but it brings on a lot more problems with the fix. I will try to have it fixed in the next version.
First boot setup
-I recommend waiting 5 minutes before unlocking the screen the first time on first boot. Everything seems to go a lot smoother that way.

I've been having the same problem with a few of your Sense builds..
While going in to edit the APN settings, I randomly receive a force-close for com.android.phone........ I followed your instructions on first boot and am now trying my second reboot. Is there any solution for my dilemma?
EDIT: No luck even after running TerminalEmu "su", then "fix_permissions"..

Camera worked like a charm! Data seems fine for me though. Loaded up tasvideos.org VERY quickly, although I can't vouch for the disconnects/reliability (yet). And I apologize for posting; I didn't even notice you posted that in your fixes
Using my old Data.img file
Hey Moto,
Nice work, but can I use my data.img file from Mdeejay Froyo Sense Rev. 1.7 in order not to lose my current data and settings?
Thanks.

You should only receive one force close when data connects for the first time.

3rd Dimension Anorexia
Introducing 3rd Dimension Anorexia, brought to you by SOSA Developers
What is this?
It is Slim ICS inspired (no it is not a direct port of slim ICS) for the E3D. With this ROM, you can either starve your phone (keep it stock) or feed it (download apps), you are in complete control! This is not meant to be some tweaked out rom with a bagillion apps that you probably wont use, in this case, we want to give you the most freedom you have ever had with your phone, and not let the ROM hog up your space!
v2.5.1
(I think) Fixed Voice Search
Added Kernel tuner (creds to pedja1)
zip size down to 107 MB (down from 109 in 2.5)

I have PERSONALLY tested all of these to make sure they function at the least!
Wifi (If it wont start for you, restart the phone, I did this)
3G (Tweaks Make it better, personal testimony)
4G (Dont own it, but It turns on and scans, turns off without rebooting)
Bluetooth (Turns on)
Theme Manager (Downloaded JB theme and applied, then restarted to be sure)
MMS Sending and Recieving (Wifi must BE OFF to RECIEVE MMS)
Camera (Photo/Video) (No Reboot required before/after either)
Calls/Texts
Lockscreen Mods (FaceUnlock Force Closes! I KNOW THIS, PLEASE DONT SAY trebuchet is the stock launcher by request
Everything else works!
PLEASE DO NOT ASK ABOUT THE FOLLOWING!!!
3D - IT SHOULD BE A GIVEN BY NOW THAT IT DOESNT WORK!
ANY BUG IN DEVIL TOAST 0.7.4 CM9. unless what I did fixed it by coincidence, it is still broken!
So, with all of that said, if you have not done a clean install (no dirty installs) and you have done the following:
Taken the ENTIRE FIRMWARE ICS update
Are S-ON
Then no bug reports from you please... Thank you...

What makes it so great?
-More space!
On average, you get about 1 to 1.01 GB (aka, 1 GB plus 10 extra MB max) with an AOSP Rom after you install the Rom+Gapps
With this, after installing the entire ROM (Gapps Included, explaination below) you have 1.07 GB (1 GB plus 70 MB) free to do with it what you please! 60 MB of additional user space!!!!!
-It's Slim, so it's faster, less processes in the background, and better battery life
-You (the user) get the ultimate control over what you put in your phone, more data for applications
-So many more benefits I cannot begin to describe
-Stock OC'd to 1.5 GHz (can be changed in the settings menu)
What doesn't work?
-Face Unlock option not available YET (minor bug, test to see if it works for you though)
-You tell me, runs fine on my end
-edit: 3D DOES NOT WORK lol (boot animation should though, so this statement isnt 100% true)
The Specs:
Wifi - Works
3G - Works
4G - IDK I dont have that
Bluetooth - Works
GPS - Works
Multitouch - Works
Calls/Texts - Works
Every App available on the phone as is - Works
Power Menu - Works
Superuser - Works
Camera (Main and FFC) - Works

Why did I include GAPPS cooked in?
This isn't a CM Style spinoff or anything, it's meant to be Stock 4.0.4 in every way with a couple of perks, so I cooked them in, to save the time and download space!

so I did a totally clean install, wiped everything like 3 times because of coming from a sense rom. Love everything so far but I have noticed so far that voice search fc's when you try to use it at all. I did fix permissions to see if that would do anything and it didn't

That's actually a known bug in the base for this Rom. Unfortunately unless the OP knows how to fix that himself then it'll remain an issue because Agrabren (The dev of the base) stopped development for ics to focus on JB.

[ROM] MiGusta (build 130803) [MIUI]

MiGusta - MIUIv5 for the Droid DNA
MiGusta is a port of AdyScorpiusMIUI for the M7 to the DNA, ported on to a freshly built CM with a couple kernel changes to make it boot. This is only for the Droid DNA on Verizon.
If you download this rom and flash it to your previously rooted/unlocked/s-off device, I take no responsibility if something bad happens, it's all on you now. However I'll probably feel bad and try to help...
First and foremost, special thanks to...
AdyScorpius - for porting MIUI to the M7
chad0989, crpalmer, and the CyanogenMod Team - for getting CM on the DNA
lbxmobbin_1 - for helping me out with RIL issues
What works
Data (4g, 3g, calls, texting)
Camera
WiFi
Wireless charging
Mostly everything, but I haven't tested things like NFC or bluetooth, so they may be broken (if you can test this and let me know, that'd be super)
What doesn't work
Anything that's broken in CyanogenMod (by theory)
Bugs and Solutions
4g isn't enabled at boot - dial *#*#4636#*#*, go to Phone Information, scroll down to Set preferred network type and change it to LTE/GSM/CDMA auto (PRL), then toggle data off and on (via Settings or the notification toggles)
Performance may not be as great as stock AOSP roms. That's because this is a port, and not entirely built from source, not to mention it's MIUI. It's been smooth for me, but this rom may not be for you if you're into intense gaming. Also, if you're going to bring up benchmark scores, don't bother posting because benchmarks aren't worth anything.
Superuser isn't enable by default - This isn't really a bug, but since I'm sure MIUI is new to a lot of people there will be issues with this. Go to the Permissions app, go to ROOT, and enable permission monitor.
Led doesn't flash unless plugged in - go into Settings > Led and change the colors to Green
Making phone calls to numbers that begin with 1 don't work as expected - remove the 1 from the beginning (this is an MIUI issue)
All sent text messages will display as "failed" after a reboot fixed in 130717
I'd like to mention that I turned the recent apps button into the menu key, mainly due to the fact that MIUI doesn't have any settings that could enable menu functionality in the hardware keys.
Questions and Answers
Q: does this work on GSM/will you release a GSM or Butterfly version?
A: it might work on GSM, I personally don't know since I'm a Verizon customer. I am not going to release a GSM/Butterfly version of this rom. I am not going to risk doing something wrong and breaking someone else's phone that I can't personally test/debug on, sorry. If someone wants to release a mod that will make it work for GSM, then by all means go nuts and I'll add it to the OP, but I cannot provide any kind of support for it.
Q: will X kernel work on this rom?
A: short answer - no, long answer - maybe, I haven't had time to go and test every single kernel on this rom. This is an AOSP-based rom, so if you're going to test a kernel make sure it's for AOSP. I personally had to do a couple of small kernel mods to make this rom boot, if you tested a kernel and it doesn't work, ask the kernel developer to contact me and I can send them the goods.
Q: how do I do X?
A: Google it. I am not going to answer any questions if you haven't put in enough time and research to look it up yourself. MIUI is an entirely different system from AOSP, and there are different ways of doing things (such as permissions/superuser). If you Googled it and came up dry, then leave a reply and I'll try to help you out.
Q: X force closed/my phone rebooted out of no where/I'm having some other issue, how do I fix it?
A: explain what went wrong, what was the procedure to causing the issue, and most importantly provide a logcat. If you don't know how to get a logcat, Google it. Explaining the procedure might be enough for me to fix it, but a logcat will drastically help in me getting a fix.
Q: when is the next version coming out/when is this feature getting added/when anything?
A: no
Q: can you add X app in the next update?
A: no, I'm trying to keep MiGusta relatively slim, and unless there's a VERY good reason, I won't add it.
Q: I get an error when trying to flash, what do I do?
A: make sure that the md5sum of the file (which can be found next to the download link in the OP) matches the md5 of the file on your computer. I flash the rom personally before uploading it to make sure it's smooth sailing, so if it doesn't flash then chances are you just got a bad download. If you downloaded the rom more than once and the md5 of both are the same, but doesn't match the one I listed, then let me know because it means it was a bad upload (and my fault more than anyone's).
Q: do I need to flash gapps?
A: nope, they're included!
Q: can I use your rom as a base for my rom?
A: I'd prefer if you didn't, mainly because I spent days learning how to do all of this by hand, and I'd prefer if all my hard work wasn't kanged. If you want to try porting MIUI yourself and you've run into an issue, shoot me a PM and I'll gladly share my knowledge
Please note - I am a human, I have a life, I have a job, and once the summer is over I have school. I'm doing this as a hobby, so don't expect me to be lurking this thread all day and answering questions on demand. I can't promise this will be updated as soon as a new version of MIUI/AdyScorpiusMIUI comes out, but I can promise that I'll try my best to release updates as soon as I can, and that I'll try to answer as many questions as I can.
DO NOT ASK QUESTIONS IF YOU HAVEN'T READ THIS POST IN ITS ENTIRETY.
This is your only warning. If you ask something that has been addressed above, expect to be ridiculed.
And what you've all been waiting for...

The ROM works pretty good. Not having the roaming issue this time around. Performance is pretty rough as the op already stated. I also get random miui fc's but other than that things seem OK so far

Performance on the home screen is slow when moving icons and folders, but everything else seems relatively smooth. I changed the I/O scheduler to deadline in performance options which seemed to smooth things a bit. The games I've tried run without lag. I noticed the MIUI Weather widget isn't installed, and the status bar shows 'Verizon Wireless' in front of notification icons. Has anyone been successful in activating their Xiaomi account? The page doesn't load for me.

Was your phone plugged in when you switched to battery percentage? I noticed it doesn't show up when you're plugged in, but when you unplug your phone it works correctly.
And I didn't even realize the HTC One settings were there, I'll get rid of em' in the next release, thanks
