Apps on sd card can't load! - Optimus One, P500, V General

After rooting,my apps no matter is it forced moved or initially able to move to sd card, all can't load and can't start!Someone please help me!
Sent from my LG-P500 using XDA App

I had this exact issue before flashing a new ROM. I think it's part of the SD disconnect issue that the T's have REALLY bad. Once I threw AmberHome on there, I haven't had an issue once.

just get sma eproblem, but not on P500, instead, on LG Optimus Chic E720 (LG-E720) and Archos 32 Internet tablets. after i use android sdk's adb to enable both's function of setting SD card as default installing space and put 130+apps onto SD cards (total apps amount>150) after i reboot my phone all apps on SD card can't be recongized by the android, rarely rebuilding apps list help solve the problem but most of the time it doesn't. furthermore when the problem occur if i connect the device to my PC the device does not ask me if i want to mount the device/allow PC to access to the card as usual, and when the problem occur if i go to setting-->apps-->manage apps-->click into any apps all sizes are showing as "calculating". And the Archos 32 Internet Tablets just have internal storage instead of SD card so the app2sd move things to internal memories instead of SD cards from ROM only. But those apps on ROM still can be loaded as usual.

[Q] how to install applications on SD card

Hi all,
I just brought the LG Optimus One P500 this afternoon and thanks for great info in XD. I managed to rooted the device so smotthly
Question:
after rooting, now how can install/move my applications to my SD card instead of the internal memory.
Previosuly on Samsumg spica there is a tool call App2SD, any similiar tools for LG Optimus One P500
Thanks
Do you want to install directly to the sd card or just to move them after being installed on the internal memory?
You can move apps around using Settings->Applications since FroYo can do that for you but not all apps can be moved just yet. Other apps can move them forcefully (I use Titanium Backup to do that).
If you want to install to the sd card directly, look for an app called apps2sd. I found it on the market a few months ago and it opened like the Settings menu. It will just ask you where you want apps to go to when you install them. It was really simple. Widgets wont work from the sd card though. Move them to the internal memory and reboot after if you have them on the sd card already.
and make sure you have a fast card if you want to install directly to the sd card.

File Directory Layout

Hello all,
I'm new here and have a couple of questions about my first smartphone the Galaxy SII (Rooted)
I have recently been getting a few messages informing me that the SD Card is full, which seems to hold about 12 GB.
I have a 32 GB External Sd Card which I try to keep most of my vids / music, and apps that I consider don't really need to e on the actual phone like games, etc.
Other apps like browsers, Password safes, etc I keep on the phone itself.
The Phone seems to have 3 storage areas that it seems to refer to
USB Storage (Actually part of phone memory= Correct ?
SD Card (Actually part of phone memory = Correct?
External SD Card (Removable sd card = Correct ?
Can somebody please explain to me what the idea behind this setup is and how do I go about freeing up the SD Card when most of the directories in there seem to be Data related with the odd folder left over from uninstalled apps.
Hope that makes sense.
Apologies for any bad / incorrect terminology.
Regards
Loachy
If you go to Settings->storage ;
SD Card would refer to any external microSD card you might have put in.
USB Storage would refer to the Internal storage (can be used for storing media/data files)
there is another storage of about 2GB or so... which is used for apps installations..
this partitions can only be accessed via few apps like root explorer and others...
In order to free up your App storing internal storage ( which is 2GB odd)... you would need to put in an external microSD card...
then use any App (i use titanium Backup Pro) to move some of the apps to SD card...(which is infact the external microSD card)

Random reboots/Rosie restarts or SD disconnects on any ROM with Android 2.3.5+?

Okay do you have more than 50 apps installed to SD (/mnt/sdcard/.android_secure)? If so that's probably your problem. Apparently all versions of Android since 2.3.5 (and including 4.0.3) have a major bug where you can't have more than 50 apps installed on SD or you'll get either 1) random SD card dismounts or 2) random reboots (or Sense Rosie restarts). The solutions are either use a ROM with A2SD support (or A2SD+) or, even better, use Link2SD. Both of these solutions require re-partitioning your SD card. I have fully-embraced Link2SD on my Evo3D and so far everything is running great. I have a SanDisk 64GB microSD class 10 card and I think the phone may actually be faster with all the apps linked to the second partition on my SD card than having them installed locally! I used MiniTool PartitionWizard in Windows to shrink my existing FAT32 partition on the card and created an 8GB FAT32 partition for linked apps with Link2SD. So far I've only used about 3.5GB of that but maybe I'll install all my digital kids books on it too (though mostly I want those on my tablets, obviously). I thought the random reboots or Rosie restarts were something wrong with the custom ROMs I was using but then I discovered that this happens with ANY ROM that is Android 2.3.5 or later and it's not specific apps causing it but rather having too many apps on SD (via Apps2SD/Titanium). Incidentally, another advantage of Link2SD is that the second partition of your SD card isn't mounted when you plug the phone into a computer so those apps keep working and don't disappear. ROCKS!

EVO 3D App2sd and sd card

Hello!
I received my new phone(EVO 3d) and I just love this phone. Taking photos has never been better .
But to the point, I have a problem with app2sd and with sd card itself. When I moved apps to sd and in some time, those apps I moved didn't show anymore. I check in application tab and there they were but without icon of app just black img with android symbol and sd card next to it. How to solve this?
Another problem is with SD card. I bought gameloft games(Amazing spiderman) and it has 1.2gb download files. But phone got only 1gb primary storage. So I downloaded sd files over internet and moved on sd card and game launch without problem? How to does sd card works with this phone? I see when I connect my phone to computer there is only 1 disk for everything(with sd and internal). I had samsung galaxy s before so its a lot differend, because sgs had 5gb internal + 1gb storage + 16gb sd.
Hope someone can help
Cheers
The missing icon on app is something that was fixed with one of the Gingerbread updates about nine months ago. What ROM are you running?
When I connect my phone to my computer, it shows the full amount of my sd card as a drive. I do not even see the internal memory.
I have using stock 4.0.2 OTA since I got this phone 4 days didn't root yet cuzz this s-off etc. is kinda annoying to do(for now ).
However I fixed the problem. I was searching on google and someone mentioned that app2sd makes a folder on sd that you shouldn't delete! I did delete cuzz I needed space for downloading movie. So if anyone got this problem, dont delete folders in sd.
Cheers

Access SD-Card (formatted as internal storage) via USB or Filebrowser App?

Hi P9000 users!
I had now time to test some stuff with my P9000. One question: I inserted a Sandisk 128 GB SDXC Card (UHS) and formatted as internal Storage (want to move apps). Worked fine for the Phone and i was able to move apps to the SD. But after connecting Phone to USB (via MTP & unlocked phone) it only shows 32 GB internal SD. Also via File Explorer app on the phone i cannot find the external SD or mountpoint....
Anyone with same issue? I also changed connection-type to USB and then my OS (Win 10) does not open phone file system at all.
thx and br

We did an article about the SD card memory management in Marshmallow a while ago on the XDA portal that explains this, I'd suggest googling for it as I can't remember the title.
Edit: Something to do with the SD card being formatted as Ext4 (linux file system standard these days) and Windows not supporting Ext4 filesystems.
Thx for reply, so i am afraid its related to Android 6 default behaviour. So if SD is formatted as internal storage you cannot access via USB from PC or managing files on it via file browser app? Thats really disappointing for me since it then switches SD card to enhanced app storage only, useless for image, videos, music etc. Of course i can format as portable SD, but then no movement of apps are possible (via root its maybe the only option).
In SD portable mode, i also had issue that SD cards randomly disconnects and one time it even needed to be reformatted. Have read about that in another thread, that this is related to physical sd mount... will see to fix this with some tape :/ (gives me not a good feeling here)

Update: checked some forums and blogs, seems not to be android 6 default behavior that you completely cannot access the files on adopted SD-card anymore. after adopting as internal storage... anyone could also reproduce this? I will try doing factory reset with SD-Card inserted..
