apps compiled from source:
Calculator - aosp
DeskClock - aosp with minor mods

Gallery3D - aosp/codeaurora
Mms - aosp with minor mods

Additional Binaries/Tools:
bash (with working TERMINFO) - cvpcs
bmlunlock - koush
busybox
nano - cvpcs
redbend_ua
remount scripts (ro/rw)
strace - supercurio
su
Other stuffs:
SGS Boot/Shutdown Animations (NO VZW CRAP!)
Lots of ringtones & sounds kanged from aosp
Some wallpapers courtesy of WickedBeav
hacked lights.default.so for BLN (if using compatible kernel) - Neldar
AOSP style lockscreen (to switch back to puzzle lock, create a file named /data/local/enable_glass_lock, or if you are using voodoo5 and my custom cwm "red" recovery, look under advanced options)
Removed:
ALL VZW and Bing crap (except for browser, looking to fix that, but Dolphin HD is better anyways )
As much TouchWiz crap as I could, including livewallpapers (to conserve space n such)
If you are using a voodoo5 kernel, you DO NOT need to uninstall or wipe data or anything, just flash as you normally would (provided you are using my custom cwm "red" recovery). But, as always, if you have issues wiping data is not a bad idea.
Enjoy.
***** EDIT: 12/16 *****
updated to v0.9
Latest versions of:
Maps
Market
Mms (still aosp version, pulled some bugfix commits from aosp master branch)
Swype

Awesome rom jt. Fyi if anyone is using bln and or blinky you will have to uninstall and reinstall them both.
SCH-I500 - DJ05/SuperClean .8/Nemesis OTB 1200lv/Voodoo5/Darkstar

thanks.
Is there a source version of contacts and calendar?

JT are any of the stock apps in Rom manager DJ05 apps? I like the puzzle lock's ability to unlock directly to the stock MMS program.
Thanks

Man jt. You're balling outta control son.

Had updated swype so when I flashed this it gave me swype fc issues. Had to make android kb default and redo update swype. Then it was fine if anyone has the same issue

thank you for all your hard work man...it does not go unnoticed...and damn!!!! slow down!!! you are smashing devs left and right
@Mydnightsorrow - don'f forget to update ya sig

Thank you. Downloading now.

silly install question
I presume one has to go through the whole DJ05 install process documented elsewhere before flashing this rom, right? Contrarily, I assume it would be a monumentally bad idea to flash this over a DI01 superclean with some ancient voodoo kernel, right?
Just checking ..

Yes, do NOT flash this over DI01 or over old voodoo, you would not have a good outcome...

Jt1134: you should include the newest v2.15 Swype beta he's mentioning. It's soooo much better than the v2.2 build in your .7 ROM. Those damn "hidden word" pop up's are mostly fixed in it. Located here:

jt1134: This issue has persisted since we "got" the "new" YouTube app, in all versions of the ROM. Sideloading it does the same. It's behavior is exactly as he states. Any idea what's wrong? Need logs / help debugging, holla, I should be in IRC most of the time too.

This would be the ROM portion. You'd still need to flash the modem and a kernel to go to DJ05

So if you wanted to revert back to stock (just in case), would you just nandroid restore from a DJ05 restore point? Or do you have to flash adry's DJ05 ROM? Thanks!

So I could in theory flash this and then flash the stupidfast dj05 and then flash the radio? Does the order matter?
I had it in my head I would have to flash the kernel rom and radio that were in that Dj05 thread and then flash all this stuff over it. I guess that was wrong.
Also, is there a way to use ODIN on a mac?

[ROM] RMG-ROM - AOSP (Android 2.2.1) w/ Apps2SD, Trackball Alert, Wake, Blackbar

This AOSP-based ROM comes from the latest froyo branch (2.2.1). I have it rooted with adb remount support and have included the following modest list of improvements:
Rotary Lockscreen (scrapped from CM6) (FINAL version only)
Battery % mod
lilh3rmit's Trackball Alert support
DarkTremor Apps2SD (a2sd and FINAL versions)
Boombuler's AppWidgetPicker
zipaligned and deodexed
busybox, bash, and nano included
Black status bar w/ white text and updated icons (from sense ui) (from formel-lms)
Stock "X" boot animation
HUGE apn list
Trackball Wake (cyanogenmod / crimsondr)
"H" icon for HSXPA (cyanogenmod)
Reboot option (incl. recovery and bootloader) via power button (cyanogenmod)
Small changes to boost upload speed and overall performance in build.prop
Some extra wallpapers from CM6.
Installation Instructions:
BACK EVERYTHING UP! Do a nandroid and backup your apps/data, and back up your sdcard if you are using a2sd.
If you don't have the Froyo (32.36.00.28U_4.06.00.12_7) radio installed, flash it. I have also used the "Korean" (5.08) radio with good results. It's up to you.
(a2sd only) From recovery, format your sdcard to include an ext3 partition. I use 512mb, no swap partition. THIS WILL WIPE YOUR SDCARD.
Flash the ROM from the link below.
Flash the Google Apps package. I took them out of the main ROM since they keep being updated.
Sign in to the market to complete setup.
I personally run wildmonks kernel (link) using the "interactive" scheduler. Of course, the stock kernel is included with my ROM.
If you have any problems, please post them here and I will address them as I can. This is my daily use ROM and I have not experienced any issues.

I'll actually be using fromelms desire status bar. Just have to remake a couple things in framework to get the text color right. I'm not a huge fan of metamorph!
Also, the next version will have vm heap size back to default. I don't think it made any difference setting it higher.

Link has been updated. Sorry, but I guess I didn't have any notifications set for this thread. Duh! Will be doing a couple minor fixes. When I merged all the new stuff, it put in duplicates of the Setup Wizard, and Search box. Also, the only locale I have is en_us. Will put the others back in for next release.
Hi RMGeren, this looks like a nice, faily stock ROM and I’d like to try it while I’m waiting for the new Modaco release. I just have a few questions first:
Along with the black status bar, what are the other elements that are "lightly themed"? Can they be reverted?
Which non-stock Google apps are included? Is it possible to remove them?
Can the HUGE apn list be removed?
What are the changes made to build.prop? Can you provide the stock file to revert back to also?
Thanks mate.

Thanks, testing now...

[UPDATED ROM RELEASE] Zinc V2.1.2 Fascinate Rom (A Deodexed Elements Series Release)

This rom is what I am calling a "zip rom" (non AOSP) Rom with some AOSP Apps. Once again this rom is not a built from source rom (AOSP), it was built from a ota.zip, (hence the phrase "ZIP ROM").*
Most TouchWiz applications have been removed, except the ones kept in order to keep the Rom stable. Apk files have been deodexed, optipng, zipaligned and some apps are built from source. Shutdown animation was changed and a few ringtones were added.
Apps removed:*
A lot!*
Apps were placed in /sdcard/extras/ folder:
Memo.apk
com.androidapps.spare_parts.apk
puzzle_lock.apk
TATLiveWallpapersOceanWave.apk
VoiceRecorder.apk
Thanks to all for the following below:
JT1134 for providing a solid base to work from (Clean D101 Base)

Ported Blackmod theme BY: Stanrc http://forum.cyanogenmod.com/topic/7735-mm-theme-blackmod-for-fascinate/*(for themed version)
And everyone else that made it possible.
This was my first "Zip Rom" since I am a fan of AOSP Roms, I do not have a huge amount of experience making a rom like this (zip rom). I have recently been working on my other Rom named "Cadmium" which is a Droid AOSP Rom. (Completed, but not publicly released yet)*

Or here on our webpage http://www.modadroid.com/showthread.php?t=1
***Version 2.1.2 Change log***
Changed Rom naming convention so it fits the Android OS version. (preparing for Froyo)
Updated boot sound.
Added back default live wallpaper (ocean)
removed some /sdcard/extras
changed to the default mms.apk (for text messaging)
removed quadrant (get it from the market)
Added PowerAMP_1.0_build_68.apk to /sdcard/extras
Boot animation is loaded when using a custom kernel. (Recommend JT1134 or Birdman's latest kernels!) Go to kernel section to get them.
A few more optimizations with the apps apk structure. (deodexed, zipaligned, optipng and what not) saving a little more space..
yeah for flashing! Dl'ing now.

Smoked glass blue was my first ROM and theme ever, and a smoked glass blue theme was the last theme I ever put on my Droid.
got some more pictures?
Does this have the puzzle/glass unlock screens or the stock one?
It is just deodexed with some aosp apps and blackmod from the fascinate themes section. What is the custom shutdown anim?
is this compatible with the 1.2 boot animation voodoo kernal?
and sorry a noob question,
what exactly is a deoxed, zip rom? what is the main difference between that and a normal aosp rom?
Very slick. Awesome that you kept some of the apps as "extras".
It's nice and quick. Nothing not to like about that.
Thanks!
Uh oh. It tells me the Swype package installed is for a different device and I can't swype, only tap. Why the heck would Swype be removed in the first place?
Thanks for the nice rom. I had to revert back because removing the vicemail breaks the dialer. I always bump the voicemail button in the dialer (even though I use google voice) and with the voicemail app gone the dialer will crash killing the call.
I have tried to restore a deoxed version back in but never get it working. Outside of that it's a great rom. If you stuck voicemail back in or we could remap buttons to google voice like you can in windows mobile it would be perfect for me.

I want to try out this rom. Is there a zip that youve made to make this have the stock launcher or even the 2.3 launcher by default? Then we can just get ADW or whatever from the market? Also, is this like the other new roms where we need to flash the DL09 radio afterwards to make the mms/phone work?
I want to try this but don't know how to get into the emulator so for now using .09 superclean. Looks great tho.

Yes, dl30 BASE but if you look at the leaked dl30 base it runs on either radio, HOWEVER, some devs require the dl09 radio which is unspecified for this rom so I should have specified the word "radio". So your post means absolutely nothing. Feel better?
Anyone running it on dj05 radio ?

I can confirm it works on dj05 radio. My face buttons didn't work after I flashed the sns file ... But I word and reinstalled ... Twice , on the second time everything was fine. Really smooth so far . Very well done . Used rubiks roms on my dx , looking forward to using then again.
Edit: blinky doesn't work, so that's a bummer. Any chance we can get that enabled in a future build?

Swapping The Kernel in ICScrewd?

I have been having numerous issues trying to get ICScrewd to run on my phone and I am almost certain its a kernel issue.
It was suggested that I swap out the kernel before flashing and that sounds like a great idea to me.
Except...... I don't know how.
Is it as simple as taking the zImage from the kernel zip I want and placing it in the rom zip I want?
Can I ignore the META-INF folder or do I need to somehow merge that over too?
I am sure there is a wiki or a how-to on this but I have looked and cant find it. Its probably because I don't know phrase my search.
But anyway, if someone could point me in the right direction I would be very grateful.

Yup it is that simple, just replace the file with the one you want.
You can also clean up with kernel cleaning script then flash entropy kernel in recovery

Just curious since I have never tried a mod with any major changes, what are the benifits of changing out the Kernel, and what are the differences between them?

For myself the benefit was actually being able to run the ICScrewd rom at all.
In my experience of several years of flashing, some kernels just wont work with some phones.
It sound odd and all that, but my real world experience has led me to give each kernel I am interested in several tried and if they continually crash my phone I move on. I have no idea why this would be. Coming from the Captivate I tried all sorts of kernel and rom combinations. If they didn't work well I just moved on.
As far as different kernels go, some have better battery life than others due to built in tuning I believe. They can be cleaned up to help your phone run faster. And obviously from my experience here in this thread, help your phone be stable.
Excuse my noobness, please. I figured this would be a pretty relevant thread to post this question.
I flashed Siyah 2.6.9 via Odin and then in recovery installed ICScreweD. Did doing so revert my kernel to the older version of Siyah used in the rom?
If so, can I just flash in the newer version using Odin or should I research another method?
This is my first root/mod so I'm still a little nervous about messing up.

yes this reverted to the older kernel included in the rom, to flash the newest kernel. Load the zip of the kernl onto your sd card, enter CWM and flash the zip. Much easier to do than with odin.
Thanks! I was pretty sure that was the case but figured I should ask anyway. I've been lurking these forums for a while and it's awesome how helpful this community is to everyone.
While on the subject of ICScreweD, is there anything I will lose by going to the green edition? The website is kinda unclear as to if there are any features not yet available in the green edition.

This is the list of things that differ from the Blue edition which is 2.0.1 and the green edition which is still 1.6.2. Quiet a few differences and it is more up to date.

[ROM][4.4.2][ND7][7/3] SR Remix KitKat | Stable | DeOdex | Zipaligned | Fast

Welcome! If you found yourself looking for something like CleanROM based on the new 4.4.2 OTA, then you have come to the right place. Scott has moved on to other devices, so I decided to follow along with what he started. This has been thoroughly tested by myself and others with no issues. Want stability you can trust? I have not had a reboot with this ROM, nor have any testers. For best results, please follow the installation instructions below!
About:
Stock Look & Feel
Stable
Fast & Smooth
Based on the new FND7 OTA from VZW
Features:
Rooted (SuperSU)
Init.d enabled
Busybox
DeOdexed
Bloat Removed
Wifi Tether Fix
3 Way Reboot Menu
Updated Samsung and Google apps in /System
Build.prop tweaks for performance
What works:
Everything
What doesn't:
Nothing!
Credits:
Chainfire for SuperSU
killa408shark for testing
@icedventimocha for 3 way reboot
Phil3759 for the wonderful recovery
scrosler for CleanROM
jbeitel for the 1% battery mod xml's and images
Team N3BULA - @lacoursiere18 ; @Deckoz2302 ; @fkfmfz - Because they are awesome!
Installation:
Must have recovery installed (I recommend either Philz or CWM)
Copy ROM to external SDcard
Flash the new 4.3 firmware with Odin 3.07 from the OTA found HERE!
Reboot to current ROM
Reboot to Recovery
Wipe Data/Factory reset (I always do 3x for good measure)
Wipe Cache (Again, I always do 3x for good measure)
Wipe Dalvik Cache
I recommend formatting System, Cache, Data, and /sdcard (internal memory) on first install but this may not be completely necessary as it will wipe absolutely everything. If you decide to wipe the internal memory, make sure your backups and this ROM is stored on the external sdcard.
Flash ROM
Profit!
A couple things to note:
This is built from the OTA tar. Not another ROM or the leak!
If you use a different kernel, do not report issues until you verify issue with stock (included kernel).
If you do not flash firmware with Odin and use Mobile Odin instead, do not report issues until you flash FW with Odin on the computer.
I am not responsible if you brick your phone, but of course you would know that if you are flashing this.
Of course your warranty is already voided from rooting your phone.
If you would like to use this as a base, please include me in your credits and link to this thread.
I am in general a very busy person, so I like to rely on you and other XDA members to help eachother. That is what this is all about right? I will continue to update this as I feel necessary. With my flashing habit, that may be alot
I built this ROM for my personal use and decided to share because of how well it works.
I am not a themer, so don't expect any fancy themes! If you would like to create a theme and share, please let me know and I will add it to the OP. This goes for any other MOD. I am happy to add things to the builds if they work well and you want to contribute.

Also Note: If you do not clean flash this and use an email exchange account, please remove your exchange account before flashing and re-add it after install. Otherwise you will experience FC issues.

I have not added this yet, but I will in the next build. I just checked and FoxFi on the market works great so you can still tether.

I'm up and running! Almost got to impatient during the Verizon boot but I just set it aside... didn't take long.
I can't get the WiFi to turn on.... I've seen this before and I thought flipping the Mobile Data off and on would fix the issue but it didn't work. I wiped my internal sdcard because I had too many backups. I will keep playing around with it, like I said I've seen this before I just can't recall what I did to fix it....

Duh!!!! As many times as I have done this I didn't want to be that person......... NOW I"M THAT PERSON!
I got so excited I skipped that step. What makes me feel so stupid, is I just downloaded the firmware patch with another ROM that I was getting ready to load before the ROM popped up!
Sorry, my BAD

No worries. Flash that via Odin on the computer and you should be good to go.

Did you flash firmware before or after flashing the rom? Does the switch immediately go back to off or does it try to turn on and eventually go back to off?
Also make sure you verify MD5 hash on both the firmware and rom download.

Ha, now I'm up and running! WiFi, Camera, GPS Lock, blah, blah, blah I've never used NFC so I don't test that.
I like it! I will live with for a few days after rebooting a couple of times. THANKS for the ROM!
