This Release Version incorporates changes in the INSTALLATION PROCESS, please read the options available to you and the correct method of applying them before proceeding to flash the 1.7 Zip File!
( Disclaimer : As before, this ROM is heavily updated and still being developed at a fairly rapid pace. Bugs are listed below.)
PERFMOD IS NOT enabled by default in this version, had some reports of stabily problems but their is now an installer option to reenable it if you wish, if you choose not to enable the installer will automaticly trasfer your data back to save a reset
also lots of other little tweaks been added
1.0 > INSTALLATION CHANGES :
With 1.8, several choices must be made before flashing the Zip file via StreakMod or Clockwork Recovery. These choices are made with very simple edits to a Text file ( explained in section 1.2 below )
Important Options Available ( other options are listed below in Section 1.1 ) -
A.Rebel SIM Compatibility : Users who previously downloaded the NOBB version of the file may now simply select the option by typing it into the text file before flashing the Zip. Please note that Rebel SIM users are still required to manually Fastboot flash the 2.1 8105 Baseband for compatibility.
B.Launcher Option : Users may now select their default Launcher of choice before installation. The options available are LauncherPro, ADW, Stage UI and GingerBread Launcher. GingerBread launcher is installed by default if nothing is chosen.
C.Pixel/LCD Density : Default LCD Density can be set during Installation. Values available for selection are : 120,140,180,200 and 240 DPI.
D.Other Settings : Other settings available include -
•Volume Boost
( flashes the A Modified kernel with louder volume hack ),
•Tabmail
( installs the Galaxy Tab Email Client port beta 2 instead of stock email client ),
•Teetermod
( installs Teetermod edit to get HTC Teeter working, installs the app and a modified build prop with 240dpi lcd density )
•us120/140/180/200/240 -
(installs build.prop with USA related Region Settings and an LCD Density of 120140/180/200/240)
•bios
( installs the Streak BIOS Bootanimation )
•noapps
(this will install an absolute base system with no additional apps installed and the gingerbread launcher as the default launcher)
1.1 > INSTALLATION HOW TO
A. You will need to create a text file on your Streak's MicroSD Card. The file can be created in your Text Editor of choice ( such as Notepad ).
B.This file will be called 'install.txt' - Ensure that this is the exact syntax and that the file is saved with a '.txt' suffix.
C.This file must be saved in the root of the sd card.
E.Inside this text file, you may type each option that you select on a separate line. All the options available to you are listed below. Here is an example :

You will then boot into recovery ( StreakMod or Clockwork ) and begin the Zip file installation process as usual.

us120 - installs build.prop with usa related region settings (LCD Density of 120)
us140 - installs build.prop with usa related region settings (LCD Density of 140)
us160 - installs build.prop with usa related region settings (LCD Density of 160)
us180 - installs build.prop with usa related region settings (LCD Density of 180)
us200 - installs build.prop with usa related region settings (LCD Density of 200)
us240 - installs build.prop with usa related region settings (LCD Density of 240)
bios - installs the Streak BIOS Bootanimation thanks to Fone_Fanatic and Frysee
noswype - removes the preinstalled swype install to allow swype beta to work
zeam - installs the zeam launcher, a free open source launcher designed to be small and fast.
gbkb - installs Gingerbread keyboard instead of stock keyboard, this will cause force close in dictionary settings
perfmod - Enables the 1.6.1 Perfmod Option, disabled by default due to possible problems
novolnoppt - flashes a kernel without the new kgsl(3d) per page table support and normal volume levels - fixes some gameloft games
volnoppt - flashes a kernel without the new kgsl(3d) per page table support AND VOLUME BOOST - fixes some gameloft games
tabletphone - installs the modified dellstreak7 dialer, this causes a graphical bug in recent calls list but works fine
161font - restores the fonts from 1.6.1
2.0 > OVERVIEW/SUMMARY OF INSTALLATION PROCESS
1.Download update-1.8.1.zip from the links below
2.Place Zip file into Root of SD Card
3.Make a text file and type in the options you would like to chose as shown above.
4.Save file under SDCard>install.txt
5.Boot into StreakMod or Clockwork Recovery
6.Select Update from Zip File > Select Zip File From SD Card > update-1.8.0.Zip
7.Wait for installation.
8.First Boot may take longer than a normal boot. Things are being installed, stuff is being generated. Patience.
9.Enjoy.

Accelerometer is dodgy at times but I cant pin down the issue - usually going into Settings > Display and toggling Auto Rotate on and off fixes

Just flashed 1.8.0. Haven't noticed much difference between this final release and the beta I was on prior.
good job steve.i wont flash 1.8.0 yet because i just finished installing my apps on 1.7.0. but i'm sure is same as good as 1.7.0.cheers!

You can flash it right over 1.7.0. No need to factory reset, therefore you won't lose apps or settings.

I just flashed over 1.7. Just go into clockwork or streakmod and flash the zip. I wont erase your settings or apps.

Download the new zip for 1.8.0 and save it to your SD card. Read the new install options and update your "install.txt" file if necessary. Then go into recovery, either StreakMod or Clockwork, then flash it just like how you did 1.7.0.

It's really only relevant if you play Gameloft Games on your phone. If you do, choose the 1st one if you want volboost. If you don't play Gameloft games, don't worry about it.
i cant get this too load for the life of me. I wipe everything. had the install.txt file on the root of the sd. Im now trying with out the install.txt file. I get to the lock screen and it freezes.

Hmmm. Are you doing a fresh install or are you flashing over an older version? If you're flashing over an older version, which one is it?
Im doing a fresh install coming from 318 with perf mod. Ive tryed it without the install.txt and without.
My icons are really small, Why?
1.8.0 won't boot
1.7.0==>1.8.0 Stayed at stopped boot screen (Android Scribble Red) 30 minutes. Rebooted and now it wont get more than 1/3 through the boot screen before it locks. Cleared Cache and Dalvik. Still won't go.
Heading back to a very stable 1.7.0 till tonight. Hope it will go back!

1. I don't know this, I don't know that! Grrrrr! That doesn't work!
Throw everything and help me NOW!
- Remember that all the project is free, everybody who works here, spends his own
free time. Its our hobby. We all have jobs, families, everyday duties. Nobody force
you to do anything. Appreciate all the work, read all you can before proceeding,
do not blame if something goes wrong. Of course feel free to post, but its good
to search for the solution, before doing that Most of the questions has already
been answered.
2. How can I know if my tablet is rootable?
- Just run AiO tool, and choose 'Root' function, it will gonna check in the beginning
if your device is rootable, if not - you will gonna see the statement.
3. When root for not-rootable (fw R6A+) devices will gonna be available?
- There is no ETA. When new exploit is going to be found, then of course
I will inform you about it, and it should included in future version of AiO tool.
4. I've successfully flashed 'custom prerooted ICS', there is SuperUser in apps,
but I don't have working root, why?
- If you have SuperUser, and /system/bin/tempsu binary, then most probably you used
SuperSU in 3.2.1. In AiO v2.7 there was no path check for SU binary.
Just use this small fix (path check included in AiO v2.8+).
5. I've flashed 'custom prerooted ICS', but I can't access Google Play Store (Market),
how to fix this?
- Just use modded Google Play Store, from AiO 'Tweaks and Mods' submenu,
choose standard one.
6. I've flashed 'custom prerooted ICS'. I want Honeycomb 3.2.1r2 back!
Can I downgrade my device from prerooted 4.03 to 3.2.1r2?
- YES! In few simple steps:
1. Boot into RECOVERY;
2. Flash 3.2.1r2 update zip (removed from s.ony server - added mirror );
3. During flash tablet will reboot 3 or 4 times, with 'green dots' screen.
Just before last 3rd dot reboot you've got to hold VOL+ button,
to get to RECOVERY just after flashing complete! IMPORTANT!;
4. Wipe device;
5. DONE.
Wipe just after flash is very important, because if you will not gonna do this,
then it will be bootlooped in start animation, after wipe will boot correctly,
but after another reboot it will gonna boot again into ICS!
So if you will not gonna wipe just after flash, then just start all over again.
7. I've bricked my device! What can I do?
- As long as your 'region.zip' file is not damaged, then for 99% your tab can be fixed.
Firstable try to flash this: 3.2.1r2 firmware
if not works, then try this:
signed-nbx03_016-ota-120803071.zip,
in fot works, then try this:
signed-nbx03_001-ota-120803002.zip
In most cases it works. If it will fail then:
1. Boot into RECOVERY;
2. Try to flash the update again - it will fail - thats ok;
3. Wait for 2-3min to get adb available;

is this normal?
- YES, its normal. In order to 'be safe' we need to have lower incremental value,
and thats why your device 'thinks' that there is a new firmware on the air.
DO NOT UPDATE. It will flash stock fw, no root, no way back.
You can disable ota notifications via AiO - tweaks&mods section.
9. I've flashed R5+ ICS firmware. I can't decrypt and flash custom updates!?
- From R5+ firmwares adb shell in recovery has been disabled.
It means that you can't use preroot/decrypt/flash AiO functions
in future fw releases.
10. Is there a way to update to R5+ and still be able to hack recovery?
- YES, in AiO v5.3 make custom prerooted firmware,
and choose to replace hidden.img in custom update.
It will prevent from recovery update = will remain hackable one.
11. I'm trying to root (new method). I still get ERROR INTENT 3?
- The script checks after getting all the permissions,
after every step the check is being made.
Most of the devices will be rooted after 2-3 try,
but some of them... not. What to do?
Just be patient. Some users got root on 1st run,

Root device - doesn't need description.
Unroot device - this will delete su, busybox, superuser - all root things. Useful regarding warranty.
Install "rescue-backdoor" - anti-bootloop protection, gives opportunity to reflash current firmware
if something goes wrong with modifying system things.
Run OTA ZIP autodownloader - you've got to have "System Update" notification to use it.
Make it if new OTA comes in, or after "rescue-backdoor".
Toggle OTA system updates and notifications - you can disable annoying update notifications
(after "rescue-backoor"). Also enable back.
Install init.d support - just push your bash scripts to '/system/etc/init.d/' to get them autostart
on device booting. Useful to get some modifications (for example other sdcard mounting).
Run ADB Shell - runs adb shell - terminal from pc. Just handy.
Reboot device - just reboot.

Great Job condi! Just a thought to possibly add for a future update. If your enable updates is already turned off you need to turn them on before running rescue back door. Otherwise you have to exit after the buld.prop has been lowered, turn on the updates, then re-run rescue back door lowering the build.prop once again. Not a big deal for me but might simplify the process if when the script runs for the rescue back door it automatically turns on the ota updates to avoid an additional step. Other than that this is an awesome all-in-one you have created and the ability to unroot is huge for warranty issues. Great job again Condi thank you!!

Currently trying to run mount script at init.d. Still can't get the right timing though. Tested with sleep 75 and 120, still no go.

yep, I thought about it also, before 2am when I was finishing it, but I was too sleepy to get it working thanks for pointing out - I've got it already done in v1.1 version. Just want to add also condition for users, who have unrootable tabs - S.onyTablet.S v1.1 will recognize it and not go through all the futher script. It will also detect if its rooted or not device - in all other functions - 2-6.

TWRP no longer works....the past few weeks they changed something in the recovery script causing you to have to do manual dirty flashes.
Ah wasn't aware of that, this one should still work with it. I haven't tested it tho

Will have an update for this this weekend. I noticed backups to external sdcard are quite slow, and it may not be grabbing the context files so it's missing like 40mb or so. I haven't had an issue restoring but still ^^
OK, scratch the missing 40mb's thing, looks like thats always been a thing or its just reporting wrong. So all that needs fixed as far as I can tell is the super slow backup time to external sdcard, going to try to do so today if I have time before I get off work or if i can sync all the source I need at home tonight/tomorrow. Other than that its all good. Just would recommend backing up to internal for the time being.

"Better" is in the eye of the beholder - it's personal preference unless this one does indeed worth with the nightly install scripts (I haven't tried it so I can't be sure).

This recovery works great. No issues and flashify worked great to put it on my phone. I haven't tested if cm12 likes it but i run slimrom alpha 1 right now.

I wish I understood what the advantages of this recovery are over TWRP. From the features list, I can't really tell.
