Kinda noob question about internal/SD storage. - HTC Aria Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm using liberated 008 and seems like no difference if i move apps to SD or internal storage. I have 15 megabytes left on internal storage and i moved almost all applications to the SD card and i still have 15 MB free space. Do i have to do something special to use this feature? I've tried to move apps with titanium backup and via manage applications. Seems like they moved and i still have low space. Any help will be appreciated, thanks.
Yes, my phone is rooted.

[Q] dalvik cache rebuild?

Hey guys so I partitioned my sd card to 1gb and I installed 150 apps and games but my phone memory decreasing so fast and I getting the low on space message already I know this is due to the dalvik calche.
What happen if I press dalvik cache rebuild in the app2sdgui app? I really want more apps to be installed cos my a2sd space is 400mb+ more.

Dalvik cache will be rebuilt. But it's futile since the size will be the same. To increase phone memory move dalvik to sd card or reduce the number of apps.

So you're saying if I rebuild them my internal memory will still be the same?
I have already did moved my dalvik to sd ext and I don't want to reduce my apps. Cos I use them all.
But its really funny, I did a test, first I checked my internal memory is 60mb, then I installed Rule The Sky from the market which is 30mb then I checked my internal memory it decreases to 30mb lol. Idk if the a2sd is working sometimes or not

As said above, pointless. Looks at data2sd if you have so much junk on your phone.

That you should use data2sd instead of messing with cache rebuilds which will do nothing useful wrt free space.
My question is what will happen if I press rebuild dalvik cache in the a2sdgui apps. Will my internal memory increases. Will it harm my apps. Will it make some of my apps stops working, fc or error?
Cos I'm really desperate to increase my internal memory to installed more apps cos my a2sd space is 400mb more

Christ.
- It will rebuild the dalvik cache. Duh!
- No, already answered.

P.S. Use data2sd if you desparately need more space (and guess what, already said as well.)

Low storage issue

Hi,
Although i have free space on my evo, i can not install any new application. What problem should it be? I can move some apps to sd but it should not be necessery if the device has enough free space.
Please check the screen shots.

When mine was that full, it gave that error even with space left. It seems to be when free memory around 10%. I think it does that leave room for caches and such.

From my experience, yes, it is normal. I'm not an Android engineer, but I believe it is leaving a little breathing room for caches, temp files, and such.
I am experiencing a similar issue that maybe someone can help me with.
I still have the free space, 148MB on-device and 4.45GB free on my 8GB SD card. However, it will not let me install apps. I tried moving as many apps to SD as I can, but I'm running into another problem here. I have a few apps that are 160MB+ in size, and it just won't let me move these apps to my SD card. If I try to use Settings > Storage > Make More Space, it will tell me there is not enough space on the SD card. If I go to Settings > Apps and check an individual app, then tap Move to SD Card, and it tells me that it couldn't move app.
I then tried another app, DroidSail Super App2SD (Root). For smaller apps, it gets SuperSU permission successfully and moves the app to the SD card. However, for the 160MB+ apps, it fails on me too, this time telling me to make sure I have root and USB Debugging enabled, which I do since I could move the smaller apps.
Is there just a limit to the size of apps you can transfer? Is there any other way I can transfer apps to my SD card and have more space?
My device is Sprint EVO 3D, running stock ICS OTA with 4EXT Touch Recovery and SuperSU root.
You can also try to remove some system apps, jetcet printer etc

While that does give me a little bit more space, I still have the problem where I can't move large apps. Thanks for the suggestion though.
Same thing happened to me. Any solutions? I tried moving apps to sd card

Cyanogenmod 9 Emmc Storage Issue

So lately I've noticed that my SD card is apparently full, like I'll get warning messages when downloading apps and stuff that the storage space is insufficient. But I know the overall storage space and I haven't used anywhere near that much. And I tried removing two files I didn't need through USB storage, and the space still didn't go up! I'm using cyanogenmod 9 on the Samsung galaxy exhibit 2 4G.

Its your internal storage not your SD card.

OK, but on app 2 SD it shows around 600 mb internal memory that is still usable. But when I go into what's on the SD card in that same app, it shows 0 free space which is also false. I know that the regular sdcard is the internal memory and ex-sd card or emmc is external. But still I dont have anything in there taking up that much space, app2sd shows that. And I've already dug around in root explorer and I couldn't find any massive data doing this.

Here, this is what app2sd is showing me.
Sent from my SGH-T679 using xda premium
OK so I think the problem is that since cyanogenmod doesn't use the regular external SD card folder, and uses the emmc folder instead, that's causing this.

Out of memory problem.

My s3 is showing out of memory now. I have a 32gbp card with lots of green space and also my internal memory still 400mb remaining. I thought the apps got installed in the phone memory. Am I wrong? Is this 400mb limit?? Pls help . I'm on stock os, non rooted.

Your not wrong, thats why your out of storage space. All your apps are stored on your phone and not on your external 32GB card.
400MBs is all the space you have left on your phone. Try moving some music and pictures onto your 32Gb SDcard.
I know it's low. But when 400mb is available, atleast an app of 5mb or 2mb should get installed na???

Your phone still require some memory to perform other stuff like cache. Try to move your media files to ext sdcard.
