[Q] Random Boot Animation Duplication at startup - Droid Eris Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My boot animation is working ... timing works, images appear correctly, sequencing, etc ....
The only thing I noticed, is that it will occasionally boot twice. Anyone else have this issue with their custom boot animation? it doesn't even do it every time ... most times it only boots once, but occasionally, it gets to the lock screen, and starts up the phone again.
I looked around, and most of the info I could fine was people being stuck in boot loops, which is not the issue for me.
Anyone got any ideas? ( I'm new to this, go easy )
Thanks!
- JB

I've noticed this too, on TazzFroyo v24, I just figured it was my phone messing up because I've got some unknown setting wrong. It doesn't do it all the time, so I'm not quite sure what's going on. So you're not the only one!

[Q] S2 stuck on loading screen but doesn't load

Hello all.
I need help and I hope I can receive it asap.
My phone has been turning off on its own quite a bit, but every time I catch it, I would just turn it back on and everything will be back on its way. I can't think of why it would turn off on its own though.
Just now, I was just on gtalk and pressed the power button to turn off the screen. When I tried to press it again to wake it back up, it's off. I turned it back on, it loaded but everything was being force closed. Gmail, Facebook, Calendar etc. So I freaked out and turned it off to restart. Afterwards, when I tried loading it, it got stuck at the loading screen (where there's the yellow triangle). I tried restarting multiple times but it's still stuck there.
I have rooted it and I never had any problems up until now. I have Checkrom V4 (I don't know which kernel, whichever it installs itself). This isn't the first day that I installed this rom either, I've had it for a while now but the problem just got worse today.
I can get into CWM BUT I do not want to restore until I absolutely need to. (this is because I haven't done a backup recently on CWM)
I really hope someone can help as I live off of my phone!
Please and thank you!!

Thanks Chris.
I guess this can be closed as my phone started working all of a sudden.
But I still cannot explain why it would turn off on its own...
go in recovery do a factory wipe and then go stock...

I wouldn't take it for granted that your phone has just mysteriously "rectified" itself. There is something up. I still suggest following the instructions on the thread I posted above if it does it again.

[Q] Reboots on cm9 - cm10

I've been trying to run a cm9 or cm10 based rom like MIUI, epinter's or any other but my phone keeps rebooting.
Now i know that those are not random reboots, the reboots appear when the phones goes to sleep; for example, everything is ok until i turn off the screen, then the reboot will appear around 20 seconds after that. The same occurs with the music player, while the screen is on it can play everything, but as soon as the screen goes off, some seconds after it freezes ( it sounds like a repetitive nasty sound ).
I believe that the phone is freezing before entering in deep sleep, do you know how to fix this? This happens in all the rom's i've tried, so i believe it's something related to my phone since there are a lot of people that can run it perfectly

[Q] HOX+ Carbon Rom: Random reboots and gets jammed in boot.

Yesterday I noticed that my phone(HTC One X+ running CARBON-KK-NIGHTLY-20140914-2335-enrc2b just to make clear ) started to reboot randomly and it couldn't "get up" itself. It keeps looping in the "quietly brilliant" screen until I shutdown the phone and boot it up again. After I noticed this, I decided to update my phone to latest Carbon Rom version(CARBON-KK-NIGHTLY-20141005-1241-enrc2b). For awhile everything was fine until today it started again. It's not as frequent as it was but it's still there. Has anyone else noticed this problem, if so, is there a solution for it?
I'm wondering if this is caused by some google app because I was facing some boot problems a while back and it was fixed by disabling a couple google apps.

Is this a hardware problem?

I've tried posting this problem in the specific device location - but I'm not getting any bites really, re: what the phones problem might be - over 600 views, with only one comment - so I think I've gone through the proper channel to get this fixed.
Here's the thing.
I inherited a problematic HTC One X.
When I received it, it had a boot loop - it would load up to the Sense 5 (I think) desktop (skyscraper type wallpaper) and then it would hang - then restart. Eventually it would just hang on the HTC splash screen.
When I found that it had too high a version of HBOOT (1.72), ie too high to try flashing an RUU - I opted to install Cyanogenmod.
Initially I tried installing CM11 - but it wouldn't install - I kept getting MD5 errors, or Status 7 errors - wiping caches, formatting drives and so on - always flashing boot.img before booting. Nothing would work.
I tried CM10, and this seemed to install fine.
However - every time the phone would go through the boot up, and get to CM10 welcome screen - and at that point it would hang.
Occasionally - it would hang with weird horizontal lines through the page graphics - sometimes it would crash like this - but also with a sort of high pitched white noise continuously coming out of the speakers.
If I repeatedly try to boot through this system, the time at which the phone would hang would get shorter - it wouldn't get to the CM10 welcome screen - eventually hanging again on the HTC splash screen. But now it sometimes actually boots to Recovery (I've installed the most recent version of Philz recovery which seems to work - IE touch and charging works ok).
So - question is, what does this sound like? - What do you think could be the issue here?
Does this sound like a hardware problem rather than software - and if so what?
Anyone else on here experienced anything similar?
PS - I haven't tried to open the phone case for a look inside - it may have experienced water damage or something - but I don't know at this stage...
No takers here either then?
Hmm - I guess this device must be finished then...
Still no takers?
I guess that's it then - could maybe strip the phone sell the parts...

Screen completly distorted after brick and recovery

Hey all
I bricked my ulefone power 3s yesterday. Got bootloop (always reseted after 5 seconds) and could never go into recovery mode. This is "fixed". But now I face some mystical ****..
- Phone in a bootloop. Could not enter any other mode.
- Connection on pc always came and went due to the constant resetting every 5 seconds.
- Used Smartphone flash tool: Auto format flash and format whole flash. Took 3 seconds and Tool said success
- Phone didnt boot at all now. Black screen. No vibration when trying to power on. Nothing. Was able to connect to pc and keep the connection however
- Flashed official rom.
- "Phone finally boots..."
But.. I've never seen something like this
From boot to android menu, the screen is COMPLETLY distorted.
I dont know what to do anymore. What the hell is going on? The screen worked perfectly fine before. Even during boot loop. I didnt crack the screen. Nothing happened to the display physically.. Its literally before and after in terms of time it took.
I can still scroll down and up normally (but laggy) use functions etc. Its just that the screen is completly ****ed up. Im completly out of ideas.. Reflashing doesnt work. Problem persists.
Theres also this weird chinese text and key on the upper right corner. No idea what it means and never had it before.
See pictures...
