X10 SMS Failed - XPERIA X10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So after the 2.1 update I keep on getting failed sent messages. I looked around and called my carrier as well and they say that the 2.1 update disabled "sms queuing".
Does anyone else have the same problem?
Does anyone know some sort of fix for this?

I'm having the same problem, really annoying. Switching to handcent has done nothing to fix it.

Yeh same I tried Chomp Handcent and Go sms. None of them were helpful.
Handcent was the only one that made it easy to fix and resend failed sms.

Think it's a problem with 2.1 my wife had this issue with her htc legend before the 2.2 upgrade...

i think i can help, i just got mine for christmas and flashed it right away. had the same problem but found and it worked. under settings go to wireless controls > Mobile Networks > and Press Access Point Names.

create a new APN and name it after your wireless provider
if you know someone with a unflashed phone you can get the info from them, it seems that att (my provider) is reluctant to give this info out or they just dont know that its not there. for us att carrier

My phone did the same thing. I used the full settings posted above, and later on I ended up with 2 APN's. One called MEdia Net and another called MEdia Net MMS. It changed on its own. It now seems to be working fine. MEdia Net is the default browser for ATT.

I need some settings that WORK. I live in California and I need some US settings that will work in my area. Don't point me in another thread because that's useless, you're not helping me out if you just post a link of a thread that I'll have to search through 20+ pages of random crap.
EDIT*:It seems when I exit out of messaging and then back into it, it downloads the MMS just fine...weird...So it works, well semi-works...

Notice this is the same settings for TMObile. The APN settings from Net10 activation card doesn't work for me.
Do you guys think it's usefull to post the portuguese TMN APN settings?

Who's rom are you using
To be clear. What types of networks are our rezounds capable of running on in North America.
Do we get full HSDPA+ on ATT or just Edge here.
Also, What about UTMS networks like TMobile. Can we have a guru chime in here?
there capable with frequency that have 1900/2100 since most gsm company in the u.s has 1900 frequency you can only get edge with it, but some people were able to get 3g like t-mobile and Att because of there 1900/2100 frequency they have.
please explain what is or are guru chime
on stock ics, can not even save a second apn. after pressing save there is no error, but the new apn is not listed.

I am rather intrigued by this subject, because I do sometimes travel to other countries. Not very often, less than once per year.
My wife has an iPhone 4s which is an official Verizon global phone. From the latest ruu leak, the rezound will soon be joining the list.
With a Verizon global phone, one can automatically roam on CDMA and GSM networks at a cost of $2 per minute or more depending on the country. This seems like a lot but I think one can call the USA without any long distance charges.
An alternative is to use a GSM ROM along with a SIMM from a cell company in that country. But, what will it cost to call the USA?
Another variable us the length of travel. My last trip abroad was just for a weekend. Arrived on Friday afternoon and flew home on Monday morning.
Perhaps a GSM ROM SIMM coupled with Skype or Google Voice is more economical?
Anyways, I probably think about this more than it is worth.
On the subject of APNs, I ran across a free app which can load any of 1100 APNs depending on ones location.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tweakkericsbeta
It does not seem to live up to its claims, because when I run it the only choice seems to be Verizon apn.
But it already has globe have you updated with the new ruu

For NET 10 using att phones this works best on ICS
hope there is no confusion. The internet does work with the listed apns before but internet becomes very sporatic and may have to be reset.
This also works very well for Redpocket as well just name apn to Redpocket and the mms proxy to rpmobileweb instead of tracfone.

The proxy setting only helps the MVNO, in this case NET10. They can and do use it to throttle certain types of data transfer. One specific type that I've experienced is that the android speedtest.net app will not function with this proxy setting in place. You can delete the proxy setting without ill effects on your cellular signal and, among other benefits, the speedtest.net app will once again work. YMMV.

HTC aria data settings Straight Talk

I helped my buddy port his number to straight talk, but can't get data working for the life of me. Anybody else have this problem? Or have working apn settings for Straight Talk.
Sent from my MB865 using xda premium
2/8/13 EDIT: Figured it out
Change "APN" from att.mvno ------> wap.tracfone
LEAVE ALL OTHER SETTINGS IN TACT. Use the settings as directed from StraightTalk, data and mms are working.
What settings are you using I just did this for my old Aria to give to my coz for his Bday since he was still rocking an LG slider camera phone.
This is the APN settings I got from Straight Talk 1.855.222.2355 and its not working even with your tweak.

Can someone on stock post a screenshot of their settings? MMS got broken again (as seems to happen with every damn android phone I get...) and the usual settings I used to fix it in the past don't seem to work with this phone for some reason.
Thanks!

Unfortunately, I still get just a toast saying "Error connecting to MMS provider"
I wouldn't care as much if it weren't for the fact that group texts route through MMS as well.
Anyone happen to know of a fix? Really don't want to take it back to AT&T over this... (especially since I've gone and rooted/installed twrp and a ROM)
Custom rom....then id ask the dev whats going on ... shouldnt be getting those errors if apns are set correctly...

are the stock apn's
download 8sms and manually override sms settings see if it works in that client (you can put your own APN settings in it)
Tested some more, definitely an issue with the ROM. Flashing Skyfall fixed it anyway.
Glad you got it sorted....
