As some have written here is only looking for, then read. I also had the problem with the root, but the zdzihu has dissolved. You might want to flash again. With the link of batman_112 follow step by step and everything will be OK.

Haven't you been reading this thread or any of the others? If you upgraded via SE, non rootable, all you have to do is downgrade back to your previous version and then use the xRecovery + pre rooted 2.0.2.A.0.24 by Z method posted all over the Xperia X10 general and q&a forums. With these you also can enable JIT. Other guys didn't spell it out, they just provided links. I'll spell it out but I don't have links for you. Between both you have everything you need right here in this thread.

just bought class 6 micro SDHC card, for app2sd...
but i got my phone updated to latest useless firmware, and i can't root my phone
i hope someone found ways to root x10 with one-click-method, because i really don't understand how to use flasher / xrecovery
(EDIT)
Can someone help me, how to downgrade this un-root-able firmware to the previous one?
After downgrade, what i need to do is follow the 3 link above posted by xperiax10iuser, right?

Thank you for you help

HI XperiaX10iUser,
Thank you for saving my life
I tired the first method but kept getting NullPoint error, then i tried the nonGUI flasher and it worked like a charm. now i am reinstating the system image created by Xrecovery.
AgentJBM : i understand your frustration, however there was no direct link and the methods mentioned were not as clear for a Noob like me.
thanks all for your help.

I wasn't frustrated. I'm just trying to help other noobs realize that you're not going to find one thread with A-Z. They give you A, H, P, and Z. You have to use search and links to do the ones in between. I'm a noob myself, just a step of two ahead of you, who understands both sides. They aren't being short or impatient. They just expect you to be able to navigate xda if you're going to be messing with your phone.

If you flashed your phone with the root guide then reflashed with SEUS, yes, which should be obvious.

Yes, you can
all you need to do is plug the phone into the computer facing NORTH,
then covering the light sensor, rotate 45 degrees to the WEST,
finally, hold down menu and and shout "I must read before asking silly questions"

[Q] root issues

Hello guys, well today I updated my phone from android 1.6 to 2.1 via the SEUS. I tried to root my device but failed in vain. I tried out the z4 root 1.30 but that didn't work either. I am a bit agreeably using the flash method. Is there any workable alternative to get my cell rooted?i would prefer a single click approach.
Thanks
In a nut shell, no. You need to flash back to 504 firmware and start from there, as said on AF.
Flash and debrand with THIS, install THIS, then THIS, and you'll have an up to date, debranded and rooted X10.

To be frank I really have no idea about flash. I have heard that it is very risky. If something goes wrong then the device ends up getting bricked.

what should i do?
Is there any video tut regarding the procedure? I downloaded all the things necessary for the procedure.

is there a download link for 347? I'd like to give it a test run myself.
If u can provide us with the update.pkg or the installation rom for 347 , we can test and give u good answers.
By doing that u dont have to worry that u r losing any of your personal info.
Someone is already trying to upload the nandroid backup, but if you are new to android it can be difficult.
Regarding rooting, if soc1.7 does not work and if you are comforatable with andriod, u can flash CWM or streak recovery and then flash superuser.zip file to get root.
Or else read about flashing recovery and adb. This will be useful in the long run.
all im asking for is help on how to root this 347 build. not for any extra stuff. you asking me about some update.pkg file i dont know how to do any of that.

What an attitude! as explained he does not have the same rom as you have that is why he does not know how to root it, so he is asking if there is an update.pkg in your sdcard that you can upload so he could install 347 and look for ways to root it so he could help you also. So everyone would benefit. You could politely have said you do not have update.pkg ir do not know of it or how to upload it online instead of being rude, with that kind of attitude that you have, i doubt anyone would spend their time helping you out. drgopos had helped a lot of members here, well just want to say, we should always be respectful with each other.

I was reading this with interest as my streak with froyo 2.2 isn't rooted yet.
I'm debating to update to the 2.2.2 first as I got the update message yesterday on my streak.
My streak came with 2.2.2 so I can't give much insight but give it a try. One thing I have read is that the update gets stuck on a black screen once it reboots but just pull the battery and turn it back on and the update will be there
Sent from my Dell Streak using XDA Premium App
Ended up rooting manually with adb, a Superuser.apk, and such.
The odd thing was that from adb, I wasn't able to use su after rebooting the Streak until Titaniumbackup installed a different version of busybox. Working now, so I'm pleased
So, no one had any luck with the 347 build??.
I used this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1105165
But ended up restoring the system, because it started to get stucked after phone calls, and stopped the auto updates on gmail and twitter. Summing up, almost everything started to work very slow.
So now I really need a new way to root it!
I've also tryied the z4root, with no luck either.
Anyone????

How to use custom roms
Hi.
Search for flashtool in this forum... it will help you root your phone and get xrecovery and busybox installed. You will need that to install custom roms.
Custom roms will also be found in this forum, so a little search will help.
Keep in mind that GB for X10 does not have full camera implemented. I have Froyo (MIUI) which works like a charm for me.

Check this out
You'll find that most people here are willing to help out, but you are expected to do your homework also. As you can see, all the questions you might have have been asked before. If you search first you'll find most of your answers faster than posting a new thread. AND if you still don't find what you need people will be a lot more willing to help seeing that you tried before. Enjoy!
To be fair I tryed using the search function yesterday numerous times and it didn't work. Kept saying come back in 20 minutes.
Really frustrating and I always seem to need help when its not working.

ok...am not new to androids, infact i do a bit o' developing. now, a friend of mine sold me his x10 (white, unlocked, international version).
i have had LG's and Samsung's before, but never have had the pain as such. rooting and installing CWM and then installing a ROM was effortlessly simple.
am thinking of
1. unlocking the bootloader
2. installing an OC kernel
3. then testing out the awesome ROMs u all have....AND
4. port the superawesome PRADA ROM to the x10.
so, if any of you might kindly consider showing me the way round here, i shall be grateful.

HERE
voila
I guess what you mean is how to start right?
maybe:
1. download the rom you'd like to go for and copy it to SD card
2. download the kernel flash using Flashtool
3. install the rom using Recovery
whether OC or not depends on the kernel, so watch out and pick up the right one.
