my brother flashed my samsung vibrant into axura 2.2.5.8 and it works but i cant recieve/send a txt message without another MMS app like hancent installed.the default MMS i see is the GO SMS app but again, it doesnt work without another MMS app like hancent installed. after that i could receive/send a txt but i cant receive or send a picture. is there any fix to this? i dont llike installing 2 SMS apps just for one of them to work and i wanna send/recieve pics.

Update to 2.2.5.9 it fixes that. He replaced GoSms with a different one.

Currently using Handcent as my messaging app (but have also verified this in the stock messaging app). Whenever I get longer type of texts from my friends (most using iphones) it shows as a MMS message.
Is there a setting I may have missed to stop this? It's getting really annoying.
Also, is there a way to disable that stupid slideshow when someone sends more than 1 picture in a text?
I text back and forth with my wife all the time... She has an iPhone 4S. I have never had any of her texts arrive as MMS unless they were that. I still use the stock app and running on the stock ROM unrooted. You said you verified this on the stock app, but was that ever before installing the Handcent app or only after?
As far as the stupid slideshow issue... I hate it too... Even if it's only 1 single solitary picture it will play the slideshow... Stupid... Not sure why, but I can't help with that.
Should be normal......... depending on how much you're typing. If you pass the length of 3 text messages, it automatically gets turned into mms to be able to send all of it in one go.
If you're typing less than 3 text messages worth and it still gets sent as an mms, you have a problem.

I contacted ChompSMS support about the sending of MMS messages to iPhone users. They never received them although the program said it was sent.
David from support sent me a beta trial version to try. It worked. The other fix is to switch to the stock messaging app to send MMS messages but that kinda sux.
Just install this apk over the existing version. You will not lose existing texts. It worked for me. Let me know if it does NOT work for you.
I ran into the same problem with a friend of mine. He has an iPhone. tried sending mms with Chomp and he never received him.
I will give the fix a try.
One question. I paid to remove adds, will anything be messed up by installing this in regards to the license?

Why does using the stock Messaging app suck (which works fine for both sms and mms) as opposed to going through all that bs trying to get a 3rd party app to work??
I used handcent for years when the stock MMS/SMS apps really did suck, but the stock Rezound app works perfectly 100% of the time (no matter what kind of phone its sending to) and looks awesome if you theme it correctly.
Chomp SMS offers more bells and whistles. Blacklisting, custom backgrounds, etc.
Hey all so I'm looking for a messaging app similar to like textme but also alows MMs to be sent. what i mean is i want and SMS and MMS app that send both over wifi from like a random phone number. Most i found don't do MMs and it handles them through email or something like that.

i went there like 1000 times, there is nothing about mms report.... im on AT&T stock rom
all what i got in MMS settings either change the image size, mms group ......... and at the notifications settings if i check the send messages, will i get notified with sms and mms that are sent it....

option is present on AHRD. I had no idea At&T took it out.
maybe try Chomp SMS or some other 3rd party sms client.

Some 3rd party SMS apps perform delivery reports like Chomp SMS and iPhone messages emulator. I like both of the apps, chomp is free, iPhone message isn't.
Has anyone gotten the group texting that works on the S3 working on the S4?

Group texting as in it turns a message to multiple recipients into a MMS message so everyone can see the original message and all replies? If so, it's been working just fine for me

This is where Handcent or Handcent Pro Beta flourishes, It works good. If you install it just disable your stock "Message" program under Applications > All.
