TO BE UPDATED
Pre-Installed APKs
*** I know this is a lot of apps, but these have all been zipaligned. If you use these apps, they will perform better than market versions. If not, delete them! **
LauncherPro, adbWireless, Adobe Reader, Album Art Grabber, AndroZIP, Angry Birds, AppBrain, Barcode Scanner, Barnacle WiFi Tether, Battery Doctor, CamScanner, City Caller ID, Dialer One, Documents to Go, Dolphin Browser, drocap2, Dropbox, Facebook, Gallery3D, Google Goggles, Google Sky Map, Google TalkBack, Handcent, K-9 Mail, LinkPush, Linpack for Android, Market Enabler, Neocore, Nexus Revamped Live Wallpaper, No Lock, OI File Manager, Pandora, Quadrant Standard, Rage Faces, RWiimote, Shazam, ShootMe, Shopper, Skype, Smart Keyboard Trial, SMS Backup+, SoundHound, Spare Parts, Stumble Upon, SwiFTP, Sysctl Config, Terminal Emulator, Thumb Keyboard, Titanium Backup, Video Player, Vlingo, Voice, Voice Dialer, Voice Search, Wallpaper Set & Save, WiFi Browser Login, Winamp, Work Email, XDA Developers App, Yelp, Zedge
Installation
Download ROM and place on your SD card
Boot into xRecovery
Flash the attached file with xRecovery by using "Install custom zip"
IF YOU ARE NOT ALREADY ON .435 FIRMWARE: Flash this with Flash Tool.
Reboot and be patient. First boot can take several minutes at the boot animation. This is normal.
On first boot you'll get a "Complete action using..." screen with LauncherPro and the Setup Wizard. You can choose either.
OPTIONAL: Uninstall the Setup Wizard by holding it over the trash can until "Drop to uninstall" appears.
Check out this link after installation for tips on LauncherPro: http://androinica.com/2010/08/23/11-ways-to-get-the-most-out-of-launcherpro/
I recommend at least changing the opening Speeds to 10 (Prefrences > Advanced Settings > Opening speed). That makes the phone feel a lot more responsive.

Q&A
Q: Does this ROM come with app2sd?
A: No. An app2sd version will come, but your SD card will have to be partitioned first. See this thread for more information: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=800555
Q: Is this for X10a or X10i?
A: It will work for either, but your "About phone" page will show X10i (See screen shot above).
Q: What is "zipaligning"?
A: Zipaligning is a way of optimizing an APK's RAM use.
Q: What will happen if I update a zipaligned APK?
A: The update will download and overwrite the zipaligned version.
Q: Does everything work?
A: Yes. That was my intent with this ROM: Provide high performance without loss of functionality. Everything that works in the stock SE ROM (Bluetooth, WiFi, Camera, etc) works in this ROM.
Q: Can you replace LauncherPro with LauncherPro Plus?
A: I can't, but you can. Just enter your product key in preferences. You can also install a different launcher like ADW, but you'll have to use TitaniumBackup or a root uninstaller to remove LauncherPro.
I hope everyone finds this ROM useful. Requests and suggestions are welcomed. If you use this for a theme or as a base for a custom ROM, please let me know. I'd like to see where this winds up. Thanks.

is this rom come with app2sd? and how much is the partition size?
suggestion if i may:
transparent notification bar.
better looking of fonts. (Nosferatu or Sony Sketch)
bootanimation.
including SetCpu and Thumbkeyboard.
hopes it helps. just a thought.
cheers,
xcxa23
well. thanks for the quick respond. good luck

This does not come with app2sd. You have to partition your SD card yourself. See this thread for more information: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=800555

Is this for X10a or X10i? If not for X10a, when will it be available? Or how do I modify it to show as X10a?

stuck on boot logo. any opinion why???

What is this zip aligning? If I flash this and there is an update for any of the above applications, what happens? What if I already have a few paid versions of them too.

First boot will take some time as it builds dalvik cache. How long have you been stuck?

interesting rom, i`m downloading it, and i`ll give it a try

Zipaligning is a way to optimize an APKs RAM use. If you update an app, you'll lose this optimization, but I will keep current copies of all APKs in this ROM available. I will also optimize any other APKs requested.

It should support all languages that the stock SE ROM does, but I have only tested English. When you run the setup wizard after first boot, you can select whatever you want.

Great idea to make a basic speed ROM like that!
I'll wait for the lite ROM without apps and download your apk package separately

Hey,
I love the ROM as its extremely fast and I can't wait for the you to get themeing. However I can't sync my contacts. Even if I try to force it from the phonebook it quickly crashes and then restarts.
Aside from that everything seems to be working great.
If you have any solutions for the sync please let me know as I'm on the road (I know I'm an idiot for flashing when I had to leave) and don't have any contacts or phone numbers memorized
Edit: Also there isn't an account sync option in 'Settings'.

Just spam the sync button in the contacts menu and it should start syncing. At least for me it did.

i have the same problem with the contacts, i can`t sync with anything, and i can`t restore contacts from an existing backup, please do something

Installation:
First of all you, you need to format your sdcard for App2SD. You can refer to the partition tutorial found here. The only difference is that you have to format the App2SD partition in ext3 filesystem. If you don't, the rom is not going to work properly (if it boots).
You also need to have xrecovery installed.
For the ones that have 2.0.A.0.504 firmware:
First install this.
For the ones that already have 2.0.2.A.0.24 firmware:
1)Put the Iridium.zip in /sdcard
2)Boot into recovery
3)Make a full wipe (factory reset)
4)Choose “install custom zip”, browse in your sdcard and install “Iridium.zip”.
5)After flashing finish, reboot.
First boot will take almost 5 minutes (setting App2SD). Once boot, leave it alone for another 5 minutes! (just to set up things properly!)

How to change stock home launche with google one..please cn u post only google launcher apk here..
Sent from my E10i
First of all, let me say:"Great work DaRk_dOg!"
Even if this is one of my first posts, i have been lurking around forums for quite some time, and i must say that you keep surprising me more and more.
Now, even if its a great ROM, im not fan of purple color.. But im liking the work your done on removing apps..
I want to clean up my x10 mini, and i found partly what apps i can remove and i know how to remove them, trough rooting and root explorer, but your list is quite long, so, im asking you, can you post the list of files that we can remove (like timescape app, it has 3-4 files, but most of ppl removed just one, resulting in error on booting up phone) and keep phone safe?
Also, i wanna use replacing for default sms app, can i remove stocked sms app and replace it with some from market? Im using Chomp SMS, but stocked SMS apps stays active in ATK, so, i have 2 SMS apps running.
I readed that ppl are getting errors and arent receiving any notification when they got SMS/MMS. So is it safe to remove it?
Please support e10a!!! Thanks for this work.

4)Choose “install custom zip”, browse in your sdcard and install “Iridium.zip”.
5)After flashing finish, reboot.
First boot will take almost 5 minutes (setting App2SD). Once boot, leave it alone for another 5 minutes! (just to set up things properly!)

Dont quote the whole topic post please .
Look at your cellphone providers website, usually the internet / MMS settings can be found there, and entered manually into the phone, or sent as a configuration message - I entered my settings manually.

Hey D_d
Just posting here to show you the use of your rom, and some info about battery life, internal/apps2sd storage.
The attached picture is a screenshot of my homescreen, using Beautiful Widgets, SwitchPro, built-in folders & built-in wallpaper (alot of nice ones to choose from, thumbs up).
My battery life on this x10 mini pro is approx 16-20hrs of standby + 4 hrs of 'screen on', i.e. using the phone for surfing, mail, facebook, games.
I have enabled Draft-N wireless.
I'm a little curious, i still see increasing use on the internal storage, right now im using 39mb/211,7mb reported by Drive Watch - Is this due to configuration, saved sms/mms and similar things?
The ROM is ultra fast, both JIT & Apps2SD works perfect, and i havnt yet experienced any delays, everything opens instantly.
In Linpack i score the "standard": approx 7.5k MFLOPS.
just wandering do i have to do a full wipe can i not just update it.

Hello Raaert,
I suppose battery performance is similar to a same setup in stock rom. I can go ~48 hours without plug it in but with less use in games and web.
About drivewatch and internal space: drivewatch is not 100% accurate, however it shows quite close to the real space used/not used.
Internal keeps increasing because your applications store some data in /data/data.
I chose, not to implement, data2ext because it made the phone laggy. Now, with only App2SD and dalvik-cache to sd, the phone can ran Iridium even with a class 2 card.
We also save a lot of internal space in this way.
Read the last part of this post (it's about /data/data partition). It may be useful.

Elena17484,
App2SD needs to make specific installation and symlinks and it probably needs full wipe.
However you can try flashing it without full wipe and if this doesn't work for you, then try plan b (full wipe )

Looks great, already downloading! Improvements sound very promising, too. Good possibility that this is a longtime ROM for me
Just a little suggestion: Perhaps you can mirror your theme somewhere else because free users cannot download two files simultaneosly from Hotfile and I think there's also a download limit after the first file. I'd suggest megaupload or mediafire
Answers to Questions:
If you want to restore Contacts in the new Phonebook you need to connect to your Google Account first before it doesnt work but if you are connected vcf import is working fine!
----------------------------------------
Sysctl is included in v05, you dont need the App anymore with v05
----------------------------------------
Older Timescape wont work on v05 no TimescapeV1,V2 or v2 fixed you need v02 and you need to flash it right after ROM without rebooting.
----------------------------------------
BB Patch includes old 4.1 Settings so i dont recommend it and excluded it from first Post becouse there are alot important Steps for Battery and Performance in build.prop since v05
----------------------------------------
CM Update and Stats Settings FC is normal becouse i deleted this crap Update and Stats App we have no cracked Bootloader and no official Cyanogenmod its like you install 2 Applications you never use in your life and cannot even use when you want it becouse no off. CM for X10 its just Battery Hog and wastes Internal Memory Space
----------------------------------------
InfiniteView is to View Contacts in SE Phonebook
----------------------------------------
Evenstream is from Timescape so you probably did installed Timescape wrong not like i described in 1 Post if you get FC
----------------------------------------
For Facebook Contact Sync look here.
1. Flash v05 rom
2. Flash Timescape v02 and other Arc stuff if you want
3. reboot into phone, setup Google sync, log into Market
(and flash new market if you want)
4. reboot into xrecovery, flash v053 update
5. Flash fb.zip and Contacts_ProSE_FIXED.zip provided by akila87
It seems like the fb contact sync will be broken if you flash any v05 update
after flashing Contacts_ProSE_FIXED.zip.. and reflashing the fix again won't help,
as I lost the profile pics in the phonebook after installing v052.1 while it was working before.
Do not flash v05 main rom, then v053 update and FB contact fix all in one go.
it will give you a series FC and phonebook wont work.

Troubleshooting:
Battery drain:
Make sure none of your Apps is draining and you installed all properly.
If nothing works reflash latest 2.1 ROM completly new and then my ROM
Restore Data:
Restore Data in Xrecovery can couse Battery drain or force closes
Use Titanium Backup/MyBackup or use this Method
Vpn not working:
1. use root explorer
2. change to /system/etc/app
3. check all Permissions of < ip-up-vpn > file
4. done!
No Signal:
1. Go to Development App
2. Bad Behaviour
3. Crash System Server
4. Wait for Reboot
If that not works try this
Application not installed:
for those who have problem regarding 'application not installed' try this
use root explorer and delete the smdl2tmp1.asex
hope this helps
/mnt/secure/asec/smdl2tmp1.asec
Bluetooth issues:
1. Try this App [ http://www.foogod.com/android/ ]
2. Download APK and put on your SD Card
3. Install with a File Manager
Wifi issues:
1. Go to Settings
2. Wireless&Network Settings
3. Wifi Settings
4. Press left Hardware Button to get more Options
5. Select Adcanced there and click Wifi Sleep policy and set to never
6. If still not working properly download Blade Wifi Fix from Market

For those who have wifi connection problem. please try this method. it works for me, but i am not sure if its will works for u.
go to setting, wireless and network setting, wifi setting, press option keys, select advance, tick use static IP and then key in the require field.
the require fields are different for every one
if u din know how to key in try this,
on ur comp (win7), click start and search for "Network and Sharing Center"
then click on Local Area Connection
then click on Details
there will be a pop showing all the requirement required
remember dun use the same ip add for ur rom
and no spacing. like 192.168.1.1
ps: i would recommend to use google dns ( DNS 1 : 8.8.4.4 , DNS 2 : 8.8.8.8)
-------------------------------
This is what I do to connect to my schools WPA network. thanks from posters in the thread.
1.Download and install wifi advanced configurator.
2.Go to your wifi settings and add a network with the same name BUT leave the network security to open.
3.Go to wifi advanced configurator ( if the new saved network does not appear wait a while or reboot) and edit the new network
4. You need to change security from Open to WPA
5. go to protocol and make it PEAP
6. go to credentials and add username and password
7. try connecting at the settings menu now. it should be saved.

Hey Wolf, just noticed something: i un-checked "battery percentage" on CM settings and it was saying i had 58 percent battery left, then i checked it back and it showed me 95 percent! i plugged it and it was "charging (95%)"
perhaps a glitch on the icon could be leading to erroneous battery drain issues?

to run from SD Card instead of internal Memory and App2SD puts your Apps on

Data, SMS, MMS, Wifi, Home button, back button, Google Voice Navigation all working.
Installation instructions:
I've been trying to get a proper flashable update.zip which would include the DoomKernel, however I have been getting bootloops, so for now, installing consists of restoring a Nandroid backup. This, of course, requires a kernel with CWM recovery, so you must already have DoomKernel installed at the moment.
These instructions will get much more properly fleshed out later on.
Quick and dirty steps:
1) Enter Recovery menu with preflashed DoomKernel.
2) Wipe all userdata
3) Wipe all caches
4) Wipe Dalvik Cache
5) Install the zerorom zip from your SD card.
At this point, reboot and you should be booting into the ROM. There's a good chance you'll see the boot logo two or three times before it boots properly. This is normal and no reason to be alarmed. This is basically the dalvik2cache and zipalign scripts running.
CDMA Users:
Install with the same build as below. Follow the same instructions. As long as you have not wiped /system when you attempt to install zerorom, it will detect that you are running on CDMA. It checks this by going by what your /system/build.prop says. If that file does not exist, installation could fail.
Installation failure when /system is wiped before install:
If you are missing /system/build.prop, you could write the following into a text file: "ro.product.device = R800x" for CDMA users or "ro.product.device = R800i" for GSM users. Then push this file to /system/build.prop. Then restart installation and you should be good.

Got a lot of plans in the future for this ROM. Let me know what you think if you take the time to try it out.
Changelog/Roadmap:
v0.5 - Update zips for each version from now on, startup script control, nano/bash included.
v0.4 - CDMA and GSM support in a single installation, hacked Google Maps 5.10.0 with worldwide navigation, loopy smoothness tweaks and V6 SuperCharger memory management scripts on startup. PNG optimized.
v0.3 - Restarted from scratch. Added Google Talk with video. Added new theme. Switched to Launcher Pro from ADW Launcher. Removed more apps. Added new bootanimation. Turned off auto-brightness settings. Turned off most camera sounds. SQLite vacuum on boot. Yet more stuff.
V0.2.1 - Readd Sony Ericsson settings application to fix Messaging app force close when attemping to enter its settings.
V0.2 - Removed Facebook, Sony Ericsson custom Facebook integration, Sony Ericsson sync clients, Sony Ericsson LiveView manager. Added romname/version to build.prop so it is displayed to the user.
V0.1 - Initial release.
Possible future plans and progress:
Single build working for both CDMA and GSM phones without manually installing another zip. - Done pending testing
More switchable user control over various things such as the muting of camera sounds, zipalign, dalvik2cache and many other options through a simple interface. - 10% complete
Add Screenshot function to power menu - Abandoned for now, screenshot intent was Cyanogenmod only?
Switch to Google DNS servers? - Initial look into it complete, reevaluating soon.
Apps2SD - Nothing done yet.
Various build.prop/performance tweaks - 50% complete
Use zerorom as the basis for a rom devoted towards the emulator/gamer - Nothing done yet, waiting for this ROM to be complete.
PNG optimization - 100% complete.
EDT Tweaks for status bar - Some initial looks into it complete, reevaluating soon.
SD Card speedup - Nothing done yet.
Alternate font - Nothing done yet.
Multiple themes - Nothing done yet.
720p playback with replacement of liboxmvdec.so - 100% - failed
Integrate Chainfire3D - Nothing done yet.
Centered clock, status bar changes? - Nothing done yet.
Hot reboot option integrated into reboot menu - Nothing done yet.

Don't go that way: in Sony's Xperia line for this year, kernels are not flasheable through recovery, because the recovery must be contained in the kernel. Thus, kernels must be flashed with fastboot, separate from the rest.

As for Facebook, I'm looking deeper into how tied it is to the other apps. It's definitely something that will probably disappear soon.

If that helps you some, in my old system image GP2Xperia I made Facebook in its wholeness disappear from the phone. It's just a couple of apk's, nothing to be worried about. However, you may want to prepare a Facebook-adding update.zip just in case.

I removed it completely as a test (along with SE Syncing tools and their custom FB stuff) and found that simply installing FB from the market brings back most of what you'd get anyways, so it'll be removed from the next version. Liveware Manager will also be removed since it can just be installed from the market.

i said thank you (though not in those 2 words), gave the dev a thumbs up, and am currently running the rom to test it out and feed back to the dev any issues (if any) there may be in this package. i was just merely pointing out that in my eyes, fb is bloat and (to me) not as clean as i'd hoped.
so far it is a good rom, funcional, and a very good start for the devs first play attempt in a very limited custom rom world (for the play, at the moment), and i greatly look forward to future releases
v0.2 is in the middle of uploading. Sorry, no update.zip to update to the new version yet. I'll start creating those soon.
SE Sync, SE Facebook, Facebook, LiveWare all removed. Added rom name/version to build.prop.
EDIT: Done uploading, link: http://www.multiupload.com/3W86RKRKOM
My facebook patch will work fine

Changelog
24NOV2011 - Posted.
This is based on the 3.0.1.A.0.145 UK firmware since it currently is the only one that works with the R800x still allowing service. This is a the stock UK firmware with tweaks made to allow phone calls and sending/receiving mms. Everything is working: phone, navigation, sms, mms, bluetooth, wifi, camera.
Instructions
1. Backup
2. Wipe data, cache, dalvik cache, and system.
3. Download DoomLord's DoomKernel v3 found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=15805471&postcount=2
Alternate:[testing]modified DoomKernel: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/35097081/boot_new.img
Alternate:[testing]modified 2.3.2 kernel: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/35097081/boot_mod.img
4. Download my zip file, save to root of SD card, and install via CW recovery. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/35097081/R800x_UK_15NOV.zip
5. Now flash the kernel via fastboot and enjoy.
Note: If coming from Verizon stock firmware, dial *#*#4636#*#* and change preferred network type to CDMA auto instead of GSM/CDMA auto.
Thanks
Many thanks to DoomLord for awesome kernels, Zerojay for his update script, and Chevyowner for his CDMA patch.
Bugs
1. Contacts shortcut defaults to import contacts screen even after selecting to not show again.
FIX-access contacts from phone.
2. Setup Guide returns on reboot.
FIX-replaced SEMCSetupWizard with VZWSetupWizard
3. Incoming call glitch.
FIX-WIP.
Changelog
07NOV2011 - Posted.
12NOV2011 - Deleted some bloatware, added Bravia Engine and Swype, modified Mms.apk, removed SEMCSetupWizard and replaced w/ VZWSetupWizard, zipaligned and optimized apks.
15NOV2011 - Removed Swype - install from beta.swype.com, removed init.d scripts and moved scripts to /system/bin which works with standard DoomKernel v3.
I think you stated everything works in this version. Are there any known bugs? I will flash this today and test it out.

Yes everything works. I will edit the first post to reflect that. The only known bug I have found is the Contacts screen always defaults to the initial screen for importing contacts so I just replaced that shortcut from the dock and go to contacts from the phone shortcut.
Awesome! I've been hoping for a stock rom that could be overclocked for the R800x for some time now
Is there any way to get the stock MMS.apk to display a black background?

Yes. I had already looked into that. I can make another zip including it with a black background and white text or would a dark blue similar to the settings background be better?

Unfortunately no, getting the 2.3.4 firmwares to work on the R800x is still a work in progress. They will run on our phone, but without service.
I haven't tried using that, but can look into it. I was going to work on tweaking the v3 kernel with some of his newer features anyways.

Thanks 007. I've spent all morning messing with the feature, and it looks like it isn't running any of the startup scripts in the /etc/init.d folder. It certainly isn't running the mount scripts. I await your wizardry with baited breath.

The black background with white text is what I'm used to, but the blue sounds interesting. Any way you could upload a .zip for each one. By .zip you mean a small .zip to flash through CWM, right?

I'll make one of each and yes, it will be a CWM zip that will only replace the mms.apk.

I remember seeing in DoomLord's thread where he made changes in the kernel for
4.0.A.2.368 that gave better init.d support.
NM, had the wrong CDMA mode selected.
Is there a safe to remove apps list? Seeing the chinesetextinput.apk at 8MB is disturbing to me. Haha.
After playing with this for a while I think the only other bug would be the incoming call slider being cut off for some reason. Other than that this ROM runs great and everything works.
Do u need an unlock bootloader to flash this?

The .368 kernel didnt work with this firmware, I tried it and did not have camera. The v3 .145 kernel posted here seems to have something different to it because no matter where I put busybox or how I edit scripts the dalvik2cache mod never works. Ive tried using both the dalvik hack zip and Dooms dalvik mod zip and neither work. Same results with the .145 kernel on stock verizon firmware.
I also tried running the insecure adb .apk even though the kernel is already insecure, still no luck. No support on the problem from doom either.
I flashed back to stock kernel and the dalvik mod works fine with this firmware so its def. the kernel. Just cant seem to figure it out!
Does the manual process through ADB not work with v3 either? Would rather be sitting at 140MB free instead of 71MB. Haha.
Also is there any way to get Wireless Tether for Root Users to work? I tried setting to Nexus One, and it keeps popping up that hotspot is active, and won't allow anything to connect.

I actually had the built in wireless tether work for me without using an app or sending me to the verizon page.
Try the new alternate kernel I posted for the init.d script problems and let me know if it works.
I'll have to test after work. I'll let you know how it goes.
Also, separate question: Doomkernel v3 is supposed to have a whole host of cpu governors, but my setcpu only shows conservative, ondemand, userspace, powersave, and performance. No Smartass, interactive, or any of the other frills that are supposedly in his v3 kernel. Do you guys have the missing governors, and am I just stupid or something?
I will test it out. Just to be sure, this is a test to get the dalvik hack working, or are any other tweaks involved?
Also how do I get into CWM with this kernel? I can't seem to get in there either through hitting the back button, volume rocker while booting. I also can't seem to get into it by rebooting into it through Rom Toolbox, I ended up having to boot off recoveryplay.img.
I have 197MB free up from 57!
You have to spam the back button to get into recovery while it boots. I start spamming as soon as "sony ericcson" shows on screen. If you wait until you get the SE animated boot logo, you're too late.
