[Q] root issues

Hello guys, well today I updated my phone from android 1.6 to 2.1 via the SEUS. I tried to root my device but failed in vain. I tried out the z4 root 1.30 but that didn't work either. I am a bit agreeably using the flash method. Is there any workable alternative to get my cell rooted?i would prefer a single click approach.
Thanks
In a nut shell, no. You need to flash back to 504 firmware and start from there, as said on AF.
Flash and debrand with THIS, install THIS, then THIS, and you'll have an up to date, debranded and rooted X10.

To be frank I really have no idea about flash. I have heard that it is very risky. If something goes wrong then the device ends up getting bricked.

So long as you read the first post and browse the first few pages you'll be alright. X10 is pretty much unbrickable right now so get reading and give it a go.
Well okay, I will give it a shot. Will tell you about the progress. Thanks for the help:-D. Btw are you also there in phandroid?

Once you've done it once you'll see there was no need to be worried about doing it, but like I say, read the first post, browse the first few pages, and you should be alright.

my x10 flasher is getting downloaded. Before i start the process, i wanted to ask you whether by flashing will my xperia get rooted? because for custom xperia recovery to work they mention that they NEED a ROOTED device. also they need an app called the busy box.
what should i do?
Is there any video tut regarding the procedure? I downloaded all the things necessary for the procedure.

Well I have the x10i but in the tut its x10a. It won't make a difference right?

One more thing, in the video he just showed how to upgrade from 1.6 to 2.1 I guess thats the official update which he installed. I have mine already upgraded to the OFFICIAL 2.1 so is it necessary to follow the first step of reflash?

It was posted as a guide, so you'll need to use a bit of initiative.
You mean I should still reinstall 2.1 via the procedure demonstrated?

I mean use the video as a guide so you understand the flashtool. Could have it done multiple times over by now, and to be blunt, the only obstacle now is you.

I understand wanting to be cautious, but you've had enough information to help you and the next step should be attempting it, then reporting issues or success.

It depends on the device. I'm guessing your device is a Samsung device since you mentioned ODIN. What device (model) are you using?

Safest way to move from 2.1 to ICS?

Stock everything 2.1 . Last three days my phone has been bricked due to failing at making the switch (pretty sure it was bootloaders), so I want to make sure I get everything right this time.

[Q] I need help unrooting Verizon S4-sorry to have to ask..

First of all let me say I'm sorry to even have to post this. I've looked and I'm sure this question has been posted a million times. But a lot of it just looks like Greek to me.
I recently bought a Verizon Samsung Galaxy S4 and found later that evening that it was rooted.
It's running Hyperdrive and the latest version. Also has a TeamWin screen.
I'd really like to unroot it and return it back to bone stock. But I haven't had any luck finding the firmware or instructions on how to do so that a new guy could totally understand.
If someone could give me a step by step and where I can find the stock firmware, I'd be forever grateful.
Thank you for reading this and I hope you all have a great day!

Alright, just follow steps 1 and 2 from this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2301259
I haven't used it myself but you should keep apps and data and be stock unrooted. If you have any issues or questions you can ask me or the OP of that thread.

I figured it would have removed the root access and the TWRP recovery and leave it in a mostly stock state.
