FFC After Froyo - Vibrant Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So now that the official froyo firmware has been released. What would be the necassary changes one would would need to make in order for and installed ffc to work? For example would a a modification to the bulidprop still be needed if so, would it be that change and installing the proper camera software that would enable the camera to work now? If not what else would be needed. Thanks

[Q] cyanogen mod used in 2.2 roms

Hello everyone
I have a question, as I noticed recently, that one of the nightly releases of CM 6.0 finally has the camera working.
But 2.2 roms that are to be found in the dev section have camera working for quite some time now. I'm confused, as I heard that froyd villain provided their work for CM.
So my question is - in 2.2 roms, is camera working by using 2.1 drivers or something ?
Just curious, that's all
cheers

Hi,
I can clarify this for you. FroydVillain and Cyanogenmod share fixes in both directions. Cyanogen fixed camera, and gave details of the fix to other devs (IIRC it involves specific files for each device). The fix involved 2.1 drivers, though the specifics evade me, but essentially yes.
FroydVillain was one of the first ROMs to include Cyanogen's camera fix as an update was being released anyway about that time.
But equally if someone fixes something in Froyd, they send it to Cyanogenmod to get fixed for other devices too (like how Revoked fixed the proxy implementation for CM6 for Froyd and sent fix upstream)
Hope that explains it. I don't know what the nightlies are built off, but the sharing means info moves about sometimes faster than via nightlies...

[Q] The FFC & flash

Does Phone had the FFc & camera flash sold separates? If it had where to buy & how to install it. Thank you.
The FFC has been successfully modded in - check this thread:

[Q] G1 Froyo AOSP building

I am going to build FroYo from Google's AOSP trunk, without any modification. I've read that CM6 proprietary binaries won't work well, so I grabbed them from HTC Developer, with the OTA image, to use unzip-files.sh.
Then, after unzipping, I only want to get a working AOSP, without any extended feature, like new kernel, or something.
Q1. Do I need to modify anything else?
Q2. Is it possible to create an update.zip with the AOSP building tools? I don't want to build CM6, but a totally AOSP-FroYo FroYo
I've read that the Sapphire needs some tweaking to get AOSP FroYo up and running, maybe the G1 needs some too?

FFC working on Gtalk?

has anyone been able to get their ffc working with gtalk. I know it works with tango and qik, but I can't seem to get it to work with gtalk (running simply honey 2.3.3 latest)
any advice on how to get it to work (changing the build.prop didn't work) or what gingerbread roms it's working on would be great!
thanks in advance!
CM7 works with gtalk with ffc if you flash the may gapps which is capable of doing it
cm7:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1061889
